Stayed here for two nights in Jan. There was a very friendly and helpful arrival. Site was tidy and well maintained. There were two shower/toilet blocks. The one I used was squeaky clean, well heated with loads of hot water so no complaints there. I was not on site much as I was visiting family for a 100th birthday celebratory weekend and have no idea what facilities there are for children on site. However it is a very handy site for the NEC and Birmingham and there are plenty of other tourist attractions in the area so imagine it would make a good centre for exploring the West Midlands. The M42 was a stones throw away so very handy and easy to find. Would recommend.

To Find Site:- Leave M42 at junction 3 and take A435 towards Birmingham. In about 2kms turn left at roundabout into Middle Lane signed for Headley Heath and Alvechurch. In about 150m turn left into Chapel Lane and just before church turn right and right again. The site is well signed with 'Caravan Site' signs.
Chapel Lane is conveniently situated just south of Birmingham for those wanting to visit the City or perhaps the NEC. Being fairly near to the motorway system it also makes a good night halt to break a longer journey. The site is open all year and non-members are welcome. There are around 120 pitches the majority on chipped hardstandings but there are also a small number of grass pitches. Perhaps unusual for a Club site there are a number of non-awning pitches on solid tarmac. We did notice that after heavy rainfall that some pitches seem to hold water. As to be expected electric points, rated at 16 amps, are conveniently placed to all pitches and the bollards also have a co-ax TV connection although you have to provide your own cable. Water/waste/chemical disposal points are dotted around the site. There is one central motorhome waste/refilling point with ample room for large motorhomes. Unfortunately the grey water drains still require the lifting of drain covers to allow access. There are two toilet blocks which are of the usual Club high standard. Each block has an enclosed dish wash area but with a limited number of sinks. There is a small information room with details of local attractions and places nearby to eat out. Reception sell a few essentials and newspapers can be ordered. For children there is a small adventure style playground. There is site wide WiFi access and time can be purchased online. The site also has a caravan/motorhome storage facility. The site has a small dog walk and reception can provide details of longer walks from the site. However campers are requested not to walk their dogs around the adjacent Park Home estate.
Next to the site is the Transport Museum with its extensive collection of buses. It is not open all the time and best to check opening times with their website. A ten minute walk from the site is Becketts Farm Shop which seems to be a bit of an institution in the area. Apart from selling farm foods it also has a good value restaurant and a small coffee shop. Most of the large supermarkets are represented within driving distance of the site and there are details of their location in the information room. Bus services are available from near to the site but some involve negotiating a busy main road. An alternative idea would be to take a taxi to a local station.

We stayed here twice, on our way to and from London. One night the first time and 4 nights the second, as we were so impressed.
As usual with the caravan club, the site was immaculate. Showers were spotless. Wardens were very friendly and helpful. But what we really liked was that the site wasn't too busy. It's handy for the motorway and really easy to find. The only downside is there can be a little traffic noise on occasions. Can't recommend this site enough though and will definitely be visiting again soon.

Stayed here three times this month. In Birmingham for family reasons. Good site and wardens however the price variation on our three visits made me a little annoyed. £28 for the first two nights then £19 odd for an extra night but £44. 10 for two nights the week before bank holiday. Met the Club chairman and voiced my concerns about prices. He thought they were good value, I don't. Becketts farm a short walk for food however that closes at 5pm and the shop stays open until 6pm. It was good of the wardens to tell me about the road diversions on our visit. I will have to reconsider membership of the Caravan Club because they are sometimes dearer than private sites.

This site is well placed just minutes from the M42. We arrived without pre booking to be told by warden they were full and its a busy site so you must book in advance. Two minutes later we were told there were pitches available (there were several empty that night). Made us feel this was more about them not liking non booked units as there was clearly available pitches. After that unpromising start we did then find the wardens to be pleasant and friendly.
Site is well set out with good sized pitches. Some pitches on concrete squares with no grass areas which may look a bit bleak but brilliant for a winter stays. Toilets / showers were first class - warm, clean and no queues - exactly as you would expect from CC.
Site is next door to a transport museum and a couple of minutes walk from the farm shop. Its a great site for the midlands - easy access to Birmingham and many places to visit within half an hours drive.
The only downside for us was traffic started moving on site from 6. 15am. Not just the odd car, a constant stream of caravans and motorhomes as well as cars leaving meant it was an early start for the whole site.
Overall site offers great facilities and the location is ideal. We would use again when in the area.

Chapel Lane is a good site for stop over or visit to Birmingham but would not recommend if you have a dog. We stayed at Chapel Lane for two nights in December. Overall the site was tidy and toilets warm and clean. However, if you have a dog I would not recommend this site. There is no designated dog walk, you have to use the lane outside which has no pavement and very dark, there are dog bins but quite dangerous with traffic. I was told off by the warden for using a long lead for my dog on site. Because we wanted to visit Birmingham centre exercising dog was important to us. We would have stayed longer if we could have taken the dog for a good run as we did not want to take our motor home into town. Would not visit again.

What a change to have a site that lives up to its promises.
All the toilets etc. , brilliant, clean and functional.
The pitches well laid out plenty of space between each one. Some gravel based others tarmac.
Ideal centre for exploring Warwickshire (Warwick, Stratford), Birmingham, Solihull, the NEC. All are within a very short distance.
Booking and check out is simple. Make sure you leave the barrier card when you leave!

A couple in a small motorhome, we have visited this site several times between 2009 and 2013.
Like all Caravan Club sites, we found it to be of a high standard.
We always have hard standing pitches with electric hook up.
The amenities blocks are always spotless, with ample hot water and everything you need.
The location is great. Rural, pub within walking distance, and handy to Birmingham.
Will definitely be back next time we are in the area.
Reception staff are friendly and helpful.

We have stayed at this site on many occasions but this is my first review of it! The site is spotless as you would expect from any Caravan Club site and the wardens were friendly. Chapel Lane is close and easy to find from the M42 making it an ideal stop over point, but some pitches do suffer from road noise. The nearby Beckets Farm Shop and Restaurant is a little gem offering first class produce and does a cracking breakfast. We will stay here again and again and again.

This is a brilliant site and I really enjoyed my stay here. One day into Birmingham on the train, the station is a mile and a half walk from the site and goes to Moor Street station right next to the Bull ring shopping centre. On other days we went to Coventry, Warwick and Stratford upon Avon, using the park and ride facilities there. Well laid out with spacious pitches and friendly helpful staff, who keep the facilities spotless.
