Good site for visiting Norwich 30min walk to city or 4min to bus stop route 39 every 20 minutes right into town down high street passed castle and on passed cathedral.
Only grass pitches but flat and well drained. Nice walks near river. Pub The Cock 200 yards good beer and good food.
Facilities kept well but tired by todays standards I think the site is rented from the council so complete rebuild of ameanites block is probably not cost effective or allowed. EU regs made them equip shower suitable for wheel chair users and this meant they had to reduce their 3 showers to 2 so one is very large and the other very small. No waste dump for motorhomes. There is some railway noise as the site is in between two rail lines. We enjoyed our stay and I hope we will be back.

We stayed on this site from saturday afternoon till monday dinner and did not find the noise bad at all. The site seems well kept and wardens friendly and helpful toilet block is dated but kept clean but would not want to be here if site was full as I doubt they are large enough. Called in the pub next door which we enjoyed owners and locals made us feel welcome. Walked into norwich which is interesting then caught bus back. We would stay here again but not if it was busy but having said that august is a peak time so maybe its as busy as it gets

Having read the previous reviews we approached with trepidation. However we really did not find this site at all bad. We don't expect high levels of luxury and this site's facilities were more than adequate and much better than some CL's we regularly use. Noise from railways and roads really not that bad either. Would certainly use again. Norwich is a very interesting and very busy city. We found the good cycle routes suddenly ended up in fast moving and heavy traffic. Bit dangerous and the Council should check these inconsistencies.

Stayed for 2 nights with a motorbike and small tent. Chose this site because it was close to Snetterton, where I would be watching Motorbike Racing.
I read previous reviews bemoaning the noise from the road, trains and the cockerel! Luckily my earplugs that I wear on the bike came in handy. The showers/washroom were adequate, agreed that one of the 2 showers in the Gents washroom was a little on the small side.
I found the local pub a bit 'rough and ready' but I only popped in for a last drink after returning from an evening in the city centre.
I had a spacious pitch in complete shade which was a choice offered to me. I arrived at the start of the July heatwave.
I enjoyed my stay on the site and the wardens were very friendly.
My one gripe was that the dishwashing facilities did not open until 7. 00 a. M. Is there no reason they couldn't be left open overnight?
I had an early breakfast to make a good start for Snetterton and couldn't do any washing up.
As a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club I would still use this site again if visiting the area.

Stayed for 3 nights to visit Norwich, Gt. Yarmouth, and The Broads for which this site is ideally placed. You can walk into the city centre along the dis-used railway line which is now a cycle/footpath in about 25mins.
The site is quite small but pitches are plenty large enough although many are not level and require blocks/ramps. I last visited this site over 20 years ago and little appears to have changed apart from there aren't any chickens running free any more.
Facilities are a little dated but clean and well maintained, site was quite busy on our visit but never had to wait for a shower. One thing missing is a proper Motorhome service point - particularly no waste water dump.
Pub at the end of the road, The Cock, is a real local but the natives seem friendly and beer was ok.
Would certainly stay here again if visiting the area.

We have been members of the Camping and Caravan Club for 11 years and camp many times from May to September each year. This was our first visit to Norwich. We never book as Camping is a spontaneous and touring activity and we tour extensively, having visited sites from John ‘O’ Groats to Lands end (Literally).
Upon arrival we were greeted with some hostility and were told there were only 5 standard pitches. One of these was occupied by a Campervan, another by a tent. We occupied another which was flat although in the middle of the field where all other users of the field had to come past us when coming and going. The alternative was a boggy field that was not accessible by car and far from the facilities.
The facilities were inadequate for the site and very outdated and in need of modernisation. One of the catalogue of inadequate facilities the Camping and Caravan Club overcharge us to use. We were told by the Site Manager, the Club has had to diversify by building Lodges on many of their sites. Since when do Campers and Caravanner’s need Lodges? They would be better spending on facilities their Members can use. I digress; the showers at Norwich consist of 1 spacious disabled unit and one upright coffin! Unfortunately the water supply is of a fixed temperature and controlled by the CC & C beloved PUSH BUTTON. Like most this has to be pressed continually to allow a flow of water. This makes washing a little difficult! Surely the membership can be trusted to use taps and control the water temperature to suit them.
The site sits between two railway lines and the noise from the bypass adds to the ambience! The local cockerel sounds the early morning alarm at 4 am! The only saving grace is the pleasant walk into nearby Norwich City and the carpet of forget-me-nots on the dog-walk.

Stayed on this site for 2 nights to attend a wedding in the nearby Caistor Hall Hotel so can't comment on anything other than the site itself as we never went anywhere else.
This is the worst Camping and Caravanning Club site we have ever stayed on and is in desperate need of an update. Why the totally inadequate toilet block has to be closed for 2 hours for cleaning is beyond me - how long does it take to clean 2 toilets, 2 urinals and 2 showers? Ah yes, the showers! You could hold a party in one shower in the gents but it's impossible to swing a cat in the other one - very odd indeed! My partner told me the ladies is very similar.
We were glad to get away and won't be back ever unless something is done about the place.
Come on C&CC club - take notice!

A well located site which is situated just off the Norwich ring road & a brisk 20 minute walk into the city center, A bus stop is nearby but it will cost you £2. 20 each way ( unless you have a bus pass ).
Site facilities were good & the showers were piping hot at all times, though the block did resemble a paddling pool at the end of the morning rush I feel this probably reflects more on my fellow guests & they were soon cleaned up again.
All staff were very friendly & had lots of tips of where to go, eat, drink etc :))
Wi-Fi was available but the signal was so low that I was barely able to get a signal even when stood in the site office right under the mast, the staff appeared quite clueless about the problem & it didn't improve while I was there.
Be aware that the site is also located next to a chicken farm with cockerels & geese, unless you take ear plugs or are stone deaf you will be woken up before dawn.
I was glad to leave this site & I am unlikely to return :(

The site was easy to find and we were greeted by a friendly gentleman who asked us whether we needed to top up on water as there was only one fill site, we duly filled up and he then showed us to our non hook up pitch, which was perfectly level. The shower/toilet block was very clean and tidy, with one tiny shower and one larger, I think disabled shower. Both absolutely fine.
There was an information board and it was crammed with very useful information including directions into town, we walked and it does take just about half an hour, but it is a nice walk and you go past a Sainsbury's which was useful to collect food for cooking back at the van. We did notice a small shop not far from the site but didn't use it.
We popped into the pub next door, it's a shame that it seems a bit run down. The locals were friendly though.
The only slight draw back is that the dog walk is small, but it is beautiful next to the river.
Would highly recommend this site, and we will definitely go back again.

Have to disagree with lot of other reviews. We love the Camping and Caravan Club and as member stay at their sites when we can.
This one is the worst we have ever stayed at. As usual the warden was friendly and helpful. The site has bare patches where grass has worn away which is a bit unsightly.
The facilities are desperate. Only two showers per sex and one so small you can hardly move. Also very old and really need updating.
Site is a good 30 mins walk into town and you go through some not very nice areas - my partner was a little concerned by this. Nothing much in immediate area other than one grotty looking pub.
Also women using gents toilet to do makeup in morning within 10 feet of open plan urinals.
Would never return
