We stayed in a trailer tent with electric hook up for 1 week starting 7 August 2010 with my in-laws in the caravan opposite us - booked that way by our choice.
On arrival I noticed the well presented reception, adorned with beautiful colourful hanging baskets. My husband noticed the busy road we were next to! However, I felt the traffic did not effect us too much, but I do live on a busy road, so perhaps I have learnt to switch off!
We could tell it was going to rain, so pitched our tent up as quick as possible and finished just as the rain started. However, sitting very smugly in our tent, we soon realised we were not high and dry as the rain got really heavy and puddles started to appear up through our groundsheet. The warden immediately came round with a pitchfork and tried airating the surrounding grass - the puddles soon drained away and we were able to settle in about 3 hours later. We were thankful this happened before we had unloaded suitcases and electrics and made sure we always had them high after that. We had more rain in the week, but it was by far no way as heavy and we did not flood again.
The shower blocks and toilets were cleaned everyday, and when this was being done, there was use of disable and family shower rooms to use. The showers were strong but strangely low, so I had to bend to wash my hair (I am 5'5!). When I used them early, they were hot, but on several occasions when I used them after cleaning (about 11am) they were somewhere between cold and warm. The washing machine and tumble dryer were by far the cheapest I have ever come across in a camp site and the very friendly wardens were more than happy to assist with change.
The wardens were on site at all times and they were very friendly (as already said!) and approachable, often sitting on the furniture outside the office. My in-laws had many conversations with them during our stay and they were more than happy to get them whatever local information they needed, such as local fishing lakes.
We did not go to the Grange Pub, so I cannot comment, as we chose to cook or have BBQs. The site is in a good place for Hemsby and Great Yarmouth. We went to Banham Zoo - well worth the day out which took 1 hour drive. Norwich City was close enough for an afternoon there too, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was not just like another town - had more of a Brugges feel about it.

First impression we got was not a bad site but then things began to unfold. The pitches were far too close together and the road noise was unbelievable.
The site has its own pub which is great if you fancy eating out and not have to drive. Shower blocks could be nice if the showers stayed on for longer than 4 secs, I'm all for saving water but come on.
It is a shame because this could be a nice site if only they reduced their pitch numbers and improved their shower/toilet facilities.
The area is lovely and there is a nice beach 1 mile away that is dog friendly. I will be coming back to Norfolk but not to this site

Just stayed at this site for spring bank holiday, had a warm welcome and showed to our pitch which was a very good size. Unless your in the back field with hardstandings you are going to suffer the road noise of the Caister by-pass.
The toilet block is a good size and I never had any problems with waiting, mens were clean with music from radio 2 but I found them a bit chilly, my partner said she had no problems waiting but had problems finding a clean toilet because of other campers inability to flush properly.
The Grange pub was a bit of a let down because the decor needs updating, not nice when paper is hanging from the ceiling and your hands stick to the tables, food from the other pub was good and well priced, it has a huge dog that welcomes you warmly.
Yarmouth is five minutes away for all the usual attractions but I managed to pick a weekend of rain and hailstones so not much done. Your best to take a TV reception booster as I wasn't the only one there to have trouble getting a decent picture.
All in all I think the site is quite good and is worth a stay as a base to local attractions

We had 10 days at The Grange in August. We found the site full, the children's play area is good for young children, there are 2 pubs next to the site with a large play area for the football fanatics? Food & drink available at both. We were also amazed that takeaway chinese, pizza or kebab could be delivered to reception.
The showers & toilets were spotless and with plenty of hot water day or night.
There was a slight problem with the electricity popping off a couple of times but the warden soon sorted this after it was reported. My kids loved the WIFI, and used it for a week - £15.00 I didn't think that expensive.
Lastly we were perfectly situated for so many different things, donkey rides, the beach, Norwich. We would certainly go there again

We had a lovely time here. We pitched our tent on gravel (only pitch left at short notice) and it turned out to be the best part of the park. Well back from the road which some reviewers found noisy. Behind us was a stream with the sounds of ducks and geese.Nice!
Toilets and showers very clean. Classical music piped in. Showers lasted about five seconds per push though and one remained out of order all week, as did one toilet cubicle. I think a bit of credit crunch was kicking in there!
Only gripe was that we discovered a wasp's nest very near our tent. I reported it but it did not get sorted. Instead, I made the wasps an 'offering' of fruit juice every morning to keep them happy. It worked a treat!
Area lovely. The broads are on tap!

On face value the toilets looked lovely, but only 3 showers were ever available (in both male & female). Of these, 1 hit you full blast in the face and another only stayed on for a few seconds. Meaning only 1 was usable at all times. With 70 pitches this was unacceptable. Also, if you weren't an early riser the showers were cold after 8.15AM. 2 washing up sinks is also too few. When we arrived, the areas had been relaid with some sort of hardcore. This was extremely painful to walk on and damaged our new breathable groundsheet. We picked the lower field, after reading reviews of traffic noise on main field, but this was very wet near the pond area.
We liked the area, with accessibility of beach and shops, but would not return.

Stayed here for two weeks in July/august. The showers and toilets were very clean but one of the showers you had to keep your hand on the button as it kept cutting out.
The washing up facilities were ok but could do with a couple more sinks. The site in general was clean and the male warden was very friendly. When we arrived after a five hour drive I was told that they had billed me wrong and I had to pay an extra £55.
Then half way through the holiday my sister and her family were due to arrive and we were told that if they arrived after 8pm they will not be allowed on site, even though I explained to her that they are coming a long way (5hr drive) and have young children could they check in the following morning if they arrived late but the woman behind reception was not having it she was adamant so we had to contact my sister to tell her, so she drove from bath to the grange non stop without a break so she could get there before 8pm.
The road noise was bad even though we were over the far end of the site but worse even still were the bugs two weeks sat in our tent there was an infestation of ladybirds (thousands of them) also wasps and flies you couldn't leave the door open on the tent we even had to buy some spray and a swatter.
It was a shame really as the surrounding area was great and the weather was ok as well, the grange was the only bad point and I will not be returning.

To start off with the electricity went off on a daily basis and trying to rouse the wardens in the morning to have it reset was near impossible. It was off for hours on end. Not good when you have a family to feed in the morning. They have tents mixed up with caravans and the pitches were so close together I was able to read next caravans newspaper. There is only 1 toilet block for the site and there are notices which stated closed between 2-3pm for cleaning but the cleaners would turn up some days nearer 4 oclock so you keep having to go back and forth to see if opened yet, if you have young children this is not good. The site is next to a very busy road with traffic noise

Thought I'd provide a balanced view of our recent stay here.
The facilities on the site cannot be faulted, the showers and toilets were as clean as you'd expect. The staff were helpful, although a bit matter of fact, and provided any help requested.
Now the bad bits, it is close to a road, if you are staying in a tent then you really do need to ask for one away from the hedges nearest the road, unfortunately if you've not asked for a hook up this is where you'll be pitched. There is no separate dog field we were woken early by a nearby dog, you cannot really blame the site for this but again it's something to keep in mind.
Our pitch was a little bit bare, grass wise, this was the exception as most of the other pitches looked in much better condition, but did mean we had a muddy ground sheet when it came to packing away. Additionally our pitch and those in our line only (E) were inundated with Lady Birds, and I don't just mean one or two, the tent must have had about a hundred bugs on it when I took it down, although a tent on the next row didn't have a single Lady Bird on it.
My family came here to have a quite weekend and that is what we had, we had a day out in Yarmouth and one in Cromer and a couple of quite nights, road noise excepted, around the tent, would I come here again, if I wanted to come to this area then yes, but I would try my hardest to be located on the back field or as far from the road as I could get.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the the Grange last June despite the occasional thunder storm. The Grange is perfectly situated for visiting the surrounding attractions, of which there are many. Look for information leaflets in the laundry room. Very clean shower block decorated with stencils and flowers where you can relax to classical music. No shop on site, local shops and takeaways available. I highly recommend the fish'n'chip shop nearby which serves extremely good quality food. Meticulously maintained site, small play area and a pub adjacent to site. Wardens are extremely accommodating. We can't wait for the season to start and our holiday to begin!
