First visit to this site. Site was perfect for our needs. Very central to:- Great Yarmouth, Caister, Potter Heigham, Hemsby, Lowestoft, all the broads and many many more places. Site had absolutely nothing on it, it states that there is a mobile grocery van daily, this does not exist. The only daily visitor to the site is an Ice Cream van! The Grange pub was very good, very accommodating to children. The food looked lovely, but we didn't eat there. Beer good and reasonably priced. Shower and toilet facilities to the site were very good, however the hot water did not always exist in the showers. They were kept spotlessly clean. Laundry facilities were excellent along with the washing up facilities. Wardens were much too regimental for our liking. They were funny to watch, a bit like dad's army. The lady was lovely, but the man was so stand offish it was off putting. But we learnt to ignore him and had a thoroughly lovely week.

We really enjoyed this site, we went back again in May all 13 of us the second time. Our relative is also visiting in August as well. The toilets were very clean and well maintained. The children loved the play area and the adjoining playground facilities. We felt this was very good value for money. The wardens are the nicest we have ever met. We had trouble pitching because of nearby tree branches catching the awning, the warden cut down the overhanging part of the branch within 10 minutes. Throughout the whole stay the staff were pleasant sociable and very friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. We never encountered any road noise possibly due to a new fence being put up. There is a Tesco only a few miles away. Very nice site we will be visiting again next year.

We visited the Grange at Easter, the park was full, the weather was glorious and after previous visits we noticed several changes - new wardens for one thing, really friendly & helpful. The toilet and shower block now has soap and flowers! and was spotlessly clean. A new fence has gone up in front of the hedge by the road and looks good. We were informed that WI FI is now available to your pitch - a real innovation - and the reception is also an Internet Cafe. The Grange pub/Hotel next door is really convenient as they do takeaway food as well as eat in. The gardens are large with climbing apparatus for the children. It is very central here for Yarmouth 4 miles, Caister beach 1 mile and the Broads 5 miles. We can't wait to come back again.

A very nice, clean campsite. Spent a whole week there this year camping by, yes, that very noisy hedge (noisy because of the road beside it). Have to say that didn't mar the break one bit. Facilities/showers very clean, like many conscientious water users they are of the push button type. Washing up facilities are fine; oh dear they are in God's fresh air, and there is a play area for the kids, none of whom appeared to be disappointed with their facilities. If there is no choice but to camp by the hedgerow (that's tents only by the way)then I would steer clear of the site if I had very young children as the early morning traffic can wake them rather earlier than you might have hoped. Will be returning in a couple of weeks, with caravan this time, if my high opinion of the site is altered for the worse I shall return to this review to eat humble pie.

This was not a bad site, it was clean and tidy. The facilities were cleaned daily and were of a good standard. There was a nice site atmosphere and my two young boys could roam freely. We had a 16 amp hook up and a water stand pipe near. The wardens were very pleasant and greeted me upon my arrival by my name( I did not know his!). It is a very good base to explore the local area. However. I would not visit this site again solely for the fact that the site is next to a very busy A road and the road noise was virtually unbearable in a tent.

Booked a four-day break at this site before reading the reviews posted here, so you can imagine my thoughts prior to arrival! “Have I made a mistake?”“Should I cancel?” Etc, etc. However I have to say, I can’t believe we are reviewing the same site! The wardens couldn't have been more helpful had they tried. Considering I emailed an enquiry asking if they did late bookings just 5 days before I wanted to stay, backed up with a confirmation phone call, the wardens couldn’t have been more accommodating. They didn’t even bother about a deposit, and were quite happy to allow me to put the awning up even though I’d previously said I wouldn’t have one.
Ok, it was the week before the school holidays started, so the site wasn’t particularly busy but there was a more than adequate gap between the marker stones. What amazed me was the number of electric hook-ups. There must have been getting on for 50! The toilet/shower block was exceptionally clean at all times and while the posted time for cleaning was between 2 and 3pm, the wardens were often tidying around at lots of other times too. Even the flowerbeds and hanging baskets were beautifully tended, as was the rest of the site.
This area is notorious for a shortage of water so the plunger type operation of the shower shows a very responsible attitude to water saving. I’m sure that at cooler times of the year heating in the amenity block would be a very welcome addition. Road noise could be somewhat intrusive I suppose, in a tent on the road side, as could the helicopters but come on people just because we are on holiday doesn’t mean the rest of the planet must be as well. Life in the real world has to go on I’m afraid. Perhaps a sturdy fence along two sides might block some noise of the traffic or a bund (although that would take some space) but I can’t say it particularly bothered me (even though I live on a dead-end road).
Yes, my wife and I are in our late 40’s so kids weren’t an issue for us, but there were several other children on site and they didn’t look to have been victimised in any way. There isn’t a lot for the children but they are only advertising what they have, “swings for children”: Nothing more, nothing less.
For 13 quid a night you can’t go wrong! Close to so many varied attractions, and Andrew’s Fish & Chips in Caister High Street were absolutely fantastic! We will definitely be staying again.

We intended to stay for two days while touring Norfolk and arrived on site when it was approx 25% full. When we returned from a short cycle ride we found that the site warden had sited a trailer tent about 3 yards from us. The next 2 hours we watched in disbelieve as she squeezed another three tents the other side of us. Not a problem if the site was full but with the acres of space we saw next morning she could have given everybody a bit more room. I also agree with the previous reviews. We were lucky that we could just upsticks (we did) we have tried all forms of camping starting with tents but have never been cramped in like this, even on a full site

The campsite is cramped, waterlogged and very noisy stuck right next to one of the busiest roads in this area. The lady at reception was rude and very discriminate against younger couples with children and families and general tenters. The toilets were cleanish but freezing cold (why they think people want to freeze when having showers etc I don't know!) No soap facilities for washing hands when going to the toilet and the mother and baby room was a stainless steel sink with a draining board stuck inside the freezing cold toilet block. The laundry was used by the lady on site during the times when campers should have been allowed to use them.

August 2004 I totally agree with all what sone said. I found it quite cramped too, felt like we were on top of the caravan next to us. Although I don't have to do the washing up outside, I didn't like going in the shower whilst the people were doing theirs. We did find it a little boring on the site and would only stay there if there was no where else.

13 APRIL 2004 Well after looking on the internet for somewhere to camp I saw this site and I thought that it will be ok for my youngest to go there for the animals, wrong the animals had been gone about a year ago or so, ok I thought so we went to where we had to put our tent up, lovely ground, perfect for the tent just one problem, it was next to the busy main road, all night long all you could hear was traffic going past. Next we went onto the washing up facilities I have been to many campsites but this was the first one where you did the washing up outside in the weather, next the bathrooms. Toilets were very good, clean and tidy, showers now these were ok seeing that you did not pay for them but you had to keep one hand pressed on the button other wise the water stopped then you started all over again pressing the tap in. Besides the pub on site there is nothing else but a children’s play area, there was a little amount of swings and I think there was a climbing frame and a slide. As it was for me it was not the ideal site for a family with children, sorry.
