Amazing site. Warm welcome on arrival, ideal as we were not sure we hadn’t driven onto a farm! Offered a choice of pitch type, we wanted the ‘away from people’ type pitch, we followed the owner across the fields to our pitch - our very own corner of a field, nothing and nobody in sight, just us and the moors over the top of the field.
Pitch had its own composting toilet and the smell of ferns and the moors, a fire pit, we purchased some logs, and yes, we toasted marshmallows, because that’s the law.
Incredibly tranquil, friendly and literally next to the moors.
This is wild camping - but with permission.
Excellent value, great hosts, amazing landscape.

Wow! A campsite that takes your breath away.
So much space, simple eco friendly facilities - I do love a compost toilet!
Can't wait to come back and stay on the remotest pitch with stunning views over the moors.
If you are looking for peace and tranquillity, this is where you will find it. 😊

Site owner sarah is very friendly and helpful.
Good location for dog walking with easy access on to dartmoor.
Clean composting toilets 🚻 and free hot shower🚿 Recycling ♻ collected.
Some pitches with electric hook-up. Well spaced between pitches.
I WILL BE RETURNING IN THE FUTURE.
Very quiet at night with no road noise or noise from aeroplanes.
Recommended 10 out of 10. 👍🐕🔥⛺️🚙🚍

I first came here to meet up with friends. We were parked near each other up in the field and in the evening, had a lovely chilled time out under the stars, round the fire pit by the stream. The next day we walked across the moor and down the lane to the pub in South Brent, it was a couple of miles walk, but worth it.
Being a lover of Dartmoor, walking and letterboxing, I have been back a few times since, usually stopping for a day or two on my way up and down from Cornwall.
From the site you are straight onto the moor, and I have walked from there around the Avon Dam, to Princetown on the Abbot's way and left the van there for a few days while I walked the ancient boundary with the tent.
Have also visited Totnes and Torbay with the paddleboard while staying here and have mountain biked from there also.
It is a basic wild camping site, but the compost loos are clean and the shower works well. If you need evening entertainment and normal flushing loos, this isn't for you, I am pretty self sufficient and prefer a quiet no frills site, so for me it's perfect. There is little phone signal, so download any thing you need beforehand, though there is wifi down by the house. Water and a few hook ups are there also if you need them. Convenience stores are about a ten minute drive to South Brent or Buckfastliegh, though you could also walk to them, the lanes are pretty quiet.
It's not far from the A38 at Marley Head, then a few miles up the lanes. It may take a couple of times to remember how to get there. Easy when you know the turnings, a couple of options, depending on which way you're coming from and the size of your vehicle.
Te owner was helpful, though I was left alone once I knew where I was parking up and I have bought wood off them a couple of times for the fire pit and BBQ.
Can't fault the place, I'm sure I'll be back again this year when it reopens for the summer.

My husband and I enjoyed 10 days of bliss camping next to two ponds full of life (tadpoles, frogs, all sorts of colourful dragonflies) and a stream set back from the spacious camp site in woods - a wonderful retreat from the hot summer sun. We had food cooked over a fire every night and slept so well listening to the birds early in the morning.
Our two young nephews and their father joined us over the weekend. They loved the compost loo which was a novelty to them - we all dubbed it the 'Thunder Box'. They could run around and play cricket in the massive field which they had all to themselves. They also loved going down to a deep part of the stream close to the farmhouse to have a swim.
The farm is also well-situated right at the edge of Dartmoor and a very scenic walk to Avon Dam. Riley, the farm Labrador is very friendly and good with our nephews and took us for a walk around the farm!
The campsite is well-managed; the compost loo is clean and was emptied every day. Sarah, who runs Dartmoor Camping on Reddacleave Farm, was very friendly and always ready to help with anything.
We can't wait to come back next year.

Oh, we loved Reddacleave Farm. It was a real antidote after a busy, rule-heavy campsite. It isn’t camping for the faint hearted- more like slightly civilised wild camping- but what a place, and what views!
The four EHU hook up spots are in a field directly behind the farmhouse- the non electric spots are strung out at varying points along their adjoining land, right up to the moor. These spots were really idyllic and you would always be alone/in your own group in these.
Very friendly welcome & pleasant, helpful family. Not far from the A38 (10 mins) but somehow quite a challenge to find, but worth it when you do- like uncovering a secret!
Very basic facilities, as mentioned, but the composting loos were changed daily and a hot shower with a view of woodland- gorgeous!
Nothing in casual walking distance, - except the moor(!) so you would want to either stay put and be self sufficient or be prepared to drive for food etc.
We were exceptionally lucky with the weather & the fact we had the EHU field to ourselves for our visit, which made it utterly peaceful!
We will be back.

We had a wonderful stay, in a perfect little campsite. It's gave us to opportunity to have a technology free getaway, where the children could be children, and explore the beautiful surroundings.
We had an EHU pitch with access to our own firepit and compost toilet, as well as use of the hot shower.
Our pitch was a stones throw from the river where the children enjoyed much of their time, they also had use of a little play park, football goal and free reign across the fields.
The owners were so welcoming, and my children had their own host in the form of the owners daughter who showed them the site and provided them with a beautifully enriching stay.
Locally there is a great mix of things to do and the owner have provided lots of details of places to go and things to do.
We had campfires in the evening and so much fun during the day. It was also blissfully peaceful being away in the countryside. It's a site that takes you back to the basics of camping, with a perfect blend of simple amenities to help make a comfortable stay.

Lovely location, super hosts, even the sheep were friendly,
Had a bit of concern towing our caravan once we got off main road and had to negotiate a fairly narrow lane but it was fine,
Would not hesitate to return if going to that area again

Fantastic location, friendly welcome, easy drive off A38 - satnav takes you right to the entrance gate.
Can't get much closer to the moor, feels like wild camping but with the security of being on a private property -
Views all round and a great selection of pitches to choose from.
A gem of a campsite
