Nice site with a level pitch. Toilets where excellent, plenty of hot water. Lots of hand gel dispensers throughout the site.
Although 7 miles from Penrith (which has everything you need) it only took 10 minutes to drive there as site is just off A66. There is some road noise however, this is not really noticeable after a while.
Usually we would camp closer to Keswick however by staying here we have discovered areas like Lowther castle, Hawes water, Eden Valley etc. All beautiful and without the crowds.
Would definitely stay again.

Toilets and shower blocks very very clean.
The site in general is clean tidy. It’s small but pleasant. Down side is not much to do on site and there were no nice views of mountains or lakes.
The site is located quite close to all the places you want to go and see but you have to drive everywhere you can’t walk it.

Beckses Caravan & Campsite is fantastic site run by a wonderful family, two brothers & two Carols, they all live on site & the site has been run by the same family since the mid-sixties. The site is well placed just six miles west of the M6 motorway, seven miles from Penrith & five miles from Ulswater.
The family are all so friendly, always got time to talk & they look after the site & facilities to a very high standard, toilets & showers always spotlessly clean.
Lots of trees & scrubs, with well cared for flower beds with lots of colour.
There is a laundry & washing up room located in the middle of one of the shower blocks, two massive sinks & endless hot water.
The laundry room also has lots of information of the local area, with a big wall map of the Lake District. The site also has a play area, but as I am almost seventy I thought better than using the play area.
The site is well laid out, with statics at the front of the site & the middle section for touring caravan & campervans, the camping field is at the far end on a level raised tier.
The camping field has three camping pods, with room for seven tents, with electric hook up for five tents. The only thing the camping field lacked was a water tap, which was located outside the facilities block, but have said that the tap was not much more the 50 meters.
As we camped out of season, (early July) we enjoyed plenty of space just a few tents during the first weekend, the camping pods were occupied for several nights during our stay.
We stayed for a wonderful thirteen days, the weather was fantastic & the site was well located for visiting the whole of the Lake District, with plenty of boat trips on the lakes, beautiful villages & towns with an abundance of National Trust houses & gardens.
The only disappointment of the whole holiday is that the thirteen days went far too fast.
I wish Beckses Caravan & Camping site & the family best wishes for the future, hope to see you all again & thank you for being the perfect hosts.
So if you are looking for a really good site to explore the Lake District, you would have to go a long way the beat Beckes, it’s not only a good inexpensive site, but owned & run by a wonderful friendly & caring family.
Brian & Martina Wilkins.

What a terrific site this is. Family owned, run by 2 brothers and their sister who helps out. One of the brothers is addicted to cleaning the toilets so they are absolutely spotless. The other brother seemed to spend his time cutting the grass so the site is in tip-top condition.
No ridiculous rules like you get on some campsites - the owners here treated visitors like adults. Nothing was too much for them. The showers are spotless, water always hot and the pricing is very reasonable. Dog walking area, children's play area and 3 fantastic pods if you want some luxury. I'd recommend this site to anyone.

Very friendly and a nice clean, well laid out site with clean and convenient wash facilities. Pitches have hard standing and grassed area but tent pegs were difficult to get in.
Down side is no shop on site and the nearest pub is about 1. 5mls away. Rates are very good at £17 with pitch up and electric included.
There is a field at the back for recreation and dog walking. Some road noise but very much reduced in the evening.

This is a lovely clean well laid out and well run site. Approximately 18 Static vans and I think about 20 touring vans and a camping area. Its a family site with a play area for the children.
The facilities are extremely clean and are cleaned daily, even over the Bank Holiday. Its good to visit a site like this and listen to the children playing.
The only down side is the noise from the A66, its quite loud at times, not intrusive but there.
I would still recommend this site to anyone looking for a good family site with good facilities.

An excellent site in easy reach of all the lake district.
The toilets were always spotless, free showers with lots of hot water. Not the push button type.
Owners of the site are very friendly and helpful.
Probably the best site we have been on.
Village pub not open but the Sportsman a mile away was excellent.

Great little site. Clean facilities, showers were free with plenty of hot water. Lovely feel to the site, not too big. Children had a great little play park. Laundry facilities were excellent, clothes got clean and dry on first attempt! The owners were very friendly and gave us a bin bag as there is always something you forget!
The site has a freezer for your ice blocks. Washing up facilities were excellent. A quiet site generally, though there is some road noise from A66, however that means you have great access around.
We will be back!
