We stayed for a week in a static belonging it a relative. It was a great experience. The site I'd beautifully kept and very quiet. Cannot be faulted. Ideally situated for Keswick and Ullswater. Really good pub very close by which even supply takeaways but their bar/restaurant meals are excellent.
Highly recommended site in every respect

Great little site away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The usual lake district weather rain! but that's why they have lakes. Slight noise from road but nothing to complain about. Facilities are very good, I met friends who were staying in a caravan on site and they love it here. Stayed bank holiday weekend no problems getting booked. Nice owners, nice quiet site, very clean, will go back.

This is a lovely little site, on the edge of the Lake District, close enough to all the hills and attractions but remains peaceful and makes a great escape even during the busiest summer periods.
Much of the site is for static vans and touring, but the separate tent area is sheltered by trees and the grass is well drained.
The tolets, showers and washing up facilities are excellent and the owners very friendly.
There is a handy little dog walking area adjacent to it. There is a small children's play area.

Oh dear I think we're going to buck the trend with our review!
Having, probably a little naively, turned up on a Friday tea time in the Lakes & tried to get into a popular site to find not only that one but every other site was full. We decided to head home, however this site just off the A66 had spaces so we went for it but didn't stay!
It's probably fair to make it clear that we like sites without caravans, not too organized, groomed or with many, if any facilities. So this wasn't our ideal choice for starters. However we were able to get a tolerable gap between us and our neighbours and all seemed quiet, so we pitched up made ourselves comfortable and had tea.
Then the trouble started, having had a couple of hours of peace & quiet the occupants of the tent opposite turned up, opened the front of their rather large tent to reveal a wide screen TV and X box thingy - now in my old fashioned opinion TV's and Tents simply don't mix for many reasons & not least because of the noise factor. Bang went on the music with not a seconds thought for fellow campers, but worse much worse they took exception to being asked to turn their music preferably off but even down - it was their 'right' to play music, apparently!
This was around 8. 30pm and yes of course there was no sign of the site's management to be seen, the wine was being consumed, the music & talking getting predictably louder and we knew we were on a road to nowhere (again).
We de-camped and headed home for a lovely peaceful night's sleep in our own beds with yet another campsite written off.
Camping isn't what it used to be, all we can do is hope and pray that another more appealing option will come along and the die hard campers will once again & not too soon, be left to enjoy the peace & quiet of the countryside.
I'm keen to know if it's just me being grumpy and super sensitive or if others find noise & radios a problem?

After ringing about 20 Lake District camp sites and being told that there were no vacancies/our tent was too big, I was slightly concerned when I contacted Beckses as to why they were able to accommodate us straight away.
However there was no need to be concerned as we could not have enjoyed our stay more.
We were lucky enough to have excellent weather. Our sat nav took us straight to the site, no problem to find.
The staff were very friendly.
The field upon which we pitched our tent was spacious. Although tents were side by side, our tent had a large area in front which gave a feeling of space. The kids had plenty of room to play and we had a large outside living area. In fact upon arriving at the site there was a very relaxed and pleasant feel about the place.
There were two shower/toilet blocks side by side which were very clean at all times. The showers were the type which stayed on when swithced on, so you did not have to push a button every few seconds to keep the water flowing. Also you could vary the temperature of the water, so you could have it as hot as you wanted, this was great.
There was also a washing up/laundry room.
The site was only a short drive to the various towns of the Lake District.
For people who have dogs there is a dog walking field.
The kids were initially disappointed when we drove into the camp site as the play area only had three swings. However the kids were never away from it. As you could see/hear the kids at the park from the tent, this meant that the kids could come and go as they pleased and they enjoyed the freedom. All the kids on the site played together well.
Although there was a pub close by we did not try it on this visit. If you read up before you go to the Lakes, there are lots of things to do within the area.
The price of our stay was very very reasonable.

A gem of a campsite, very friendly people run this site, always willing to stop for a chat.
The site is well located in the north of the lakes, easy access to the north lakeland fells.
Traffic from the A66 is no problem on the tent pitches.
The toilet and shower blocks are very clean, with
Plenty of hot water all the time.
All in all, everything that outdoor enthusiasts could want, there is also an excellent pub within walking distance, which serves great food and great beer.

Myself and my partner loved this site. It was close to everything in the Lake District. Plenty of walks and cycle rides. Staff were very friendly and helpful/chatty. Plenty of space between each caravan. Dogs aplenty but no noise from them at all. It is a little close to the A66 however after a couple of days you don't notice it anymore. It is in the middle between Penrith and Keswick. The Sportsman Inn pub down the road is lovely and the food first rate.Showers and toilets were always clean and tidy and hot water was fantastic.

The campsite had excellent facilities, all kept very clean. The owners were very friendly.
It was bigger than we expected, probably about 50 pitches in total, including the static caravans.
Tents are in a small separate field, raised a bit above the caravans. Although the weather was dire, it didn't get too muddy. A couple of vehicles got stuck, when they were driven off the hardcore track.
The site is very close to the A66, and therefore there is quite a lot of traffic noise.
The children's' playground consisted of 4 swings and a slide.
We enjoyed our stay there despite the weather, and the noise didn't bother us too much because we were so tired after our days out.
If you have young children, the Eden Valley Ostrich Centre is well worth a visit. The Ullswater Steamers are not actually steamers, which made it an expensive rather ordinary boat ride. Some lovely walks around Keswick (try the Crazy Golf). We went to Brockhole (near Windermere) on the way home, and can't wait to go there again. Marvellous adventure playground, and great carrot cake in the cafe.

A really lovely little site, plenty of touring vans and a great tent area. Immaculate toilet/shower block. Small play area for kids. Very friendly and helpful owners. Pub nearby. The camp site is ideally suited to visit the lakes and Eden valley. Very well kept gardens and grass area. Will return again soon.
