Just spent a great bank holiday at mill farm
Beautiful area and the field was spacious with plenty of room for kids to play without getting in anyone's way.
The owners are very friendly and helpful
This site has no showers and only 1 female and 1 male toilets but we didn't find this a problem and didn't encounter any long queues
We didn't find having no showers a problems either as the toilets are roomy enough to have a good wash in and the toilets are clean
Being able to have camp fires was a huge bonus and we all loved sitting round the fire at night with the bags of marshmallows
Overall we had a great time here and will be returning and would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone who likes the back to basics kind of camping.

My girlfriend and I Just got back from a sunny weekend at Mill farm. What a perfect start to the camping season!
The site is basic but that's what we like. We loved the relaxed feel to this site. On arrival we paid our £8 to the friendly owner and were left to it.
As we were blessed by fantastic weather most of our time was spent relaxing in the sun or playing frizbee in the very spacious center of the camp field.
Archie our dog loved it too and made a new friend, Mr Darcy. (a black lab)
In the evening we set up a campfire and had hot cross buns and marshmallows. Perfect!
As for the facilities, there were no showers which may be an issue if planning to stay any longer than a couple of days but the toilets were fine and seemed to be kept clean.
There is a nice village store in nearby long compton which sells most necessities (Food and beer etc!)
This is what camping is all about and if your like us and despise the strict rules of the busy holiday parks and you don't want to be checked on every hour then this is for you.
We would definitely return again

Have just got back from spending three nights at this campsite and it was great.
We have three young children and a loony dog and they all had a fab time. They especially liked the donkeys!
The toilets were clean there was always lots of toilet paper. There are no showers.
The village with pub and shops and play park is only 3/4 mile walk away.
It was very relaxed and peaceful on the site,we were left to pitch our tent where we wanted. It was £8 a night which seemed very reasonable. We have booked to go back later in the month.

This place is what camping is all about. Loads of space, flat (mostly), evening sun, peace and quiet, pub just down the road, animals, campfires and very friendly, relaxed owners. The owners sell fresh eggs and there is a shop in the village (10 minute walk) that sells most things.
A 5 minute drive from the rollright stones and plenty of places to visit around and about.
No showers but clean, warm and dry toilets with a sink with hot and cold water and a dishwashing area.
They charge per unit too which is how it should be, can't abide with these sites that charge per person, per child, per dog, per car, per gazebo - this place is £7 per night per unit.
One small negative though, we were there first weekend in August and it may have been the time of year but there were hundreds of wasps.

We have just returned from a lovely weekend at mill farm. We are new to camping and it ticked all the right boxes for us. The view from our tent was stunning and although there was only one toilet for the ladies and one for the men they were very clean. There is also a washing up area with nice hot water too.
We have a 3 yr old daughter and she had a whale of a time running around and making friends with the other children. We cant wait to go back again.
There is a nice pub called the red lion in the village and also a local shop and fabulous deli which sold some lovely local produce. Walk approx 20 mins to the pub from site.
If you are looking for a campsite that offers everything from club houses to swimming pools then this is not for you. But if you are like us and want to stay somewhere beautiful, clean and friendly with safe play for the kids then this is the place to go.
P.S you can also have a proper camp fire (logs £5 from farmer) we had jacket spuds in the fire and toasted marshmallows. There are donkeys in the field next door and also a couple of ponies to keep the kids amused. We will soon be returning.

I spent a lovely 2 nights at this site. The views are lovely and the owners friendly. The ground is slightly undulating in places and at the time I visited, slightly damp in places, but there was loads of good, flat, wonderfully grassy places to camp in the field. You can park next to the car or park on the side and walk to the far side of the field.
The loos are in an out-building of the main farm house and are neat clean and tidy with pictures hanging on the wall and most important of all - hot water and plenty of loo roll. There was only one each for ladies and gents so there may well be a queue in the height of the summer. The washing up area was the same with a good flow of hot water - unlike some places I've been to!
Would like to return. A lovely place to stay

My friends and I absolutely love this site. Visited it in March of this year! The site was huge with lots of space although there was about 5 tents it was so spacious you could fit a fair few tents on it. It was lovely to be greeted by a lovely lady who showed us around and said if we needed anything or had any problems to come and see her. Your allowed to have fires at any time of the day and it really was nice to be able to do that. There were also two horses and two donkeys that were very friendly and loved the food we fed them along with the owners cats. The toilets were very clean and had a sink with hot and cold water :) and also a washing up room which came in handy! And it was only £5 per night couldnt get any cheaper! Will be going back as soon as possible!

This is one of the best camp sites you will find if camping is your game.If you want 5 star accommodation go to a hotel.Good points evrything, bad points none. We love this site, have been about ten times this year.Kids love it too great open field to play in and all the animals i.E donkeys,horses.Chickens. Cats, and the ram.Long Compton is a 10 min walk it has post card thathed stone houses,a post office that you can get almost anything from,a deli type shop and a nice friendly pub with good ale and food(food a bit over priced we think)but good. And a play park for the youngsters up the side of the post office. Plenty of public foot paths so walking is not a problem you can get photo copies of local walks from the farm house.I have noticed that some campers have moaned of the lack of loo roll on the odd occasion if they would use the washing up area instead of the drinking water tap they will find more than in Asda.

Just paid our first visit to this site and although it was only a one-night stay we would like to say what a little gem we have discovered.
It's fairly basic, which is just what we want. The field is very large and even though it was bank holiday weekend it was by no means overcrowded. We received a warm welcome upon arrival and then found a nice sheltered spot up against a hedge out of the wind, even though there were quite a few fellow campers already there.
There was lots of room for our dog to run around playing ball without disturbing our neighbours. Likewise we were not disturbed even though there were a lot of families with kids present.
The toilets/showers were clean and although there are only two - one for each gender - we somehow managed to avoid any queues. I suppose that could be a problem at busy times of day.
The fire pits are a great idea and were made use of by most of our neighbours. For just the one night stay we didn't bother but we shall definitely be making use of them when we visit again.
This is an area we have only previously explored in the car but there appear to be a lot of good walks in the area and lots of places to see close by - Rollright Stones, Hook Norton Brewery, Blenheim, the Cotswold towns and villages.
At only £5 per night for 2 adults and hound this site offers fantastic value for money and we shall definitely be returning for a longer stay next springtime.

What a brilliant site. Open fire made it for us and we'll defo go again
No showers but you survive it for a long weekend friendly owner and helpful
Excellent for families and kids can run free on the site to see the donkeys and horses
A highly recommended site if you love basic camping like us sitting round an open fire chatting and drinking with your mates
