Well we are no longer camping virgins! For our first foray into camping I wanted to share with kids a basic, entertain yourself place and this was it. It truly was a gem.
Having looked up on the UKCS website, we knew it was a no-frills place, however its amazing how you cope with no mod-cons. Lack of a shower was the only tiny gripe (washing up bowl in tent sufficed when queue for washbasin in the loo) everything else was just perfect. Discovered hubby was no boy scout though (not easy lighting fire even with 25 matches being used). Large field with plenty of space, giving you feeling of being free and with nature. Donkeys were amazingly quiet, babbling brook was nice except in middle of night when trying to pretend you didn't need a wee! Clean toilets, nice walks and not too far from civilisation. Definitely coming again, for £5 a night its a bargain. Kids thought it was fantastic, gave them a little independence, got them all mucky and no-one complained of lack of tv or computer console! Good old fashioned fun in form of a rope tied to a tree to swing on. Kids fell into tent thoroughly shattered, and as any mother with 3 children under 7 would be, extremely satisfied with result, well worth the money! Nice to find a place that had its own toilet roll and soap, nice place to spend quality time!

My fiancé and I visited this site the beginning of August, we stayed for 4 nights and had a fantastic time, the atmosphere is so relaxed there are no hard rules to stick to just keep the noise down after 10pm. The facilities are basic but clean and always have paper in, even though there are no showers the toilets are big enough to have a strip wash in, there is constant hot and cold water. There is also a drinking water tap on the field. The little village is fab and there is a nice pub there to.
One of the best part was the donkeys being right next to you and there really friendly, the views are fab to, really recommend this site and its dog friendly, the gentleman that owns it is really pleasant. There are also some lovely walks and the gentleman that owns the site provides you with maps if you ask him. Will deffo be visiting again

Excellent camp site in great quiet location. Toilets as you would expect for a farm. Brilliant having Donkeys in the field next to you along with horses and chickens on the farm. Wonderful place for relaxing and dog walking. Beautiful local village within walking distance but didnt use any facilities there. Excellent value for money. Farmer is a lovely gentleman. Would recommend and use again!

We stayed here once we knew the weather was going to be ok.
A great peaceful site, not bothered by rules and regs. The toilets facilities were ok. You get what you pay for we did not find not having a shower a problem. Visited the various Cotswold villages. Had the obligatory log fire. Chatted with a nice guy but forgot to ask his name!
Will most certainly be returning.

I've been camping here for the first time, but certainly not for the last time. The ownwer is one of the friendliest guys I ever met and he's very helpful. A very basic campsite in the middle of nowhere, but very well maintained. Gents and Ladies toilet with plenty of paper provided, fresh drinking water tap on the camp ground. Open fires allowed as long as you provide your own fuel, which is fair enough. About a mile away is a beautiful village which is worth a visit. No noise, no disturbance what so ever. If you are looking for a quiet camp ground, where even children have plenty of space to play, then you should stay there.

Stayed 4 days, 3 nights. I sought a dark sky campsite close to Cheltenham, due to my astronomy leanings, and this site didn't disappoint. It is my darkest area within an hour of Cheltenham. £5 per night-tent
Pro's: No nuisance lighting, although the site was not that busy.Lots of visible sky. Adjacent donkeys 'yum up' your left overs.Level pitch is easy to find. Cycle to shop and pubs 1m ish. This site collects 'interesting' people if you are sociable.
Con's: No showers, so strip wash only. Ladies loo's much better than men's! Dont cycle to Moreton, too dangerous (I did).
Equipment: Grab n go apochromat(ZS66), 4.5' reflector, 10x50 bins.
Great view of Jupiter!

Lovely little campsite in the middle of nowhere but round the corner up the hill and round lots of other little corners and hills you come to more little places in the middle of nowhere with the quaintest of Milly Molly Mandy style villages.
Amenities are basic, a walk across the field takes you to the owners back garden to the little shed which comprises of two toilets, one male and one female. Both toilets are clean with a wash basin running hot and cold water to have a quick strip wash and look in the mirror . Arh!
The field is by a little stream which you can hear as background noise along with the naying and eeoring of the horses and donkeys in the adjacent field. There are two bins for rubbish and a small cold drinking water tap to refill bottles for cooking etc. The nicest thing of all was that we could gather wood from walks and have fun creating small camp fires, a man thing that my husband became quite precious about, convincing us that choking on damp wood smoke was all part of the fun! Oh and the other attraction was the daddy long legs, September is the season thus creating a 'horrid Henry' scene of hand fulls being let out in little sisters face . Children, what delights!
The campsite was £5 a night and gratefully received by the nice owner who was always pottering around by the house that he was born in . Along with his dad and his dads dad etc!
Synopsis: If you like good old fashioned back to basics camping this is a private, rugged friendly little field to spend some quality time with your loved ones.

A real gem of a find. Basic facilities, two toilets and wash basins, with hot water, nice and clean. There are no showers, but the cubicles with the toilets and wash basins are a nice size, easy for an 'all over wash' Very relaxed camp site, quiet and sitting in the midst of beautiful scenery. The gentleman who owns the site couldn't have been more helpful, with some interesting facts to share. I can recommend this camp site without reservations, And the donkeys were friendly too. :-) Will definitely be returning

This is a pretty basic site with few facilities – but the two toilets and washing up room are in good enough condition. Unfortunately there aren’t any showers though. The best aspect of the site is its location, as there are some great walking routes to take from the campsite. The nearby village which is well within walking distance has a shop, post office and a pub.
It was also excellent value, as I paid only £5 a night for a pitch, and there is also a lot of extra space on the field – and this was at bank holiday weekend! The owner is a really nice guy, who was pleased to help.
This campsite didn’t seem to get the visitors it deserves, as it is a good value site in a great location that I would be pleased to revisit.
