A site we return to most years, we just love the peace and the views, and there's usually something going on in town.
What I like about this site is that I can choose the pitch that I want when booking. Several new hardstands have been added over winter, they're still looking a bit raw but will settle in.
If you just turn up, you'll need to stop outside the gate and book a pitch online to get the gate access code. Same code for the toilets, which are spotless: cleaned midday and the manager walks around the site checking everything is ok.
Recycling down at the harbour, near the bus stop. £24 pn for EHU on hard standing or grass. Chocks or wedges advisable.

One of the most picturesque sites we have stayed on.
Facilities immaculate with fabulous showers.
Two minutes from town which has a variety of individual shops, museum and art galleries.
More than enough of interest for at least a weeks stay

We visit regularly, the standards of cleanliness are always high. This trip was just to see the spectacular exhibition of the Galloway Hoard at the Kirkcudbright Gallery (free but you have to book your entry time), and we enjoyed a fabulous sunset from our pitch.
We like the very efficient online booking which requires you to choose your pitch - we like to be nearer the edge as it’s not shaded by the trees in the morning. However, “note to self” is not to book a grass pitch next time, because the heavy overnight rain made it difficult to reverse back off uphill and our tyres left a muddy mess.
Since our last visit, the excellent Polar Bites fish shop has closed, sadly. And the community trust that runs the site now has 3 non-bookable pitches beside their swimming pool & a big park, with EHU, water & CDP, plus an honesty box for people who are only dealing with waste & water.

Very enjoyable stay on this quiet pretty site, in spite of the awful weather.
It’s an easy walk into town and back. Well kept site with spotless facilities.

Nice site with good views over the town. Pitches were fine with electriciy very conveniently placed behind each. Water, waste and chemical points were all clean and accessible.
Shortcut to/from town at opposite end of site from main gate - down the path through the swing park.
Minor point is that there's no recycling on-site - everything goes in the same bin. Goes against the grain a bit for us.
Would return.

Lovely clean site, very friendly and very helpful warden.
Pitch for the motorhome was flat, but the grass part was on a slope, but we managed, without falling over in our chairs!
Nice walk in to town, for shopping, food and drink.
We would stay here again.

Our 5th yr of staying here, we love this site, well kept, shower block immaculate clean,
Kirkcouldbright very friendly town,
Marred this year by 3 families both sides of us very noisy 8kids playing football outside our van when there is a massive playing field next to site, they left bags rubbish out on a night the seagulls started at 6am rubbish all over the pitch, we were gonna leave but the Warden acted swiftly and they were removed from site. Well done to him.
We will certainly be back again.

Great site with nice staff and spotless toilets, but unfortunately the waste bin by the tenting area was full to bursting when we arrived on Friday and was overflowing till about 4 pm on Saturday.
Also, perhaps the pitch boundaries could be clarified. Maybe because of the beautiful weather more people turned up than expected or maybe because we’re normally on a club site, but the pitching seemed very haphazard.
Having said that, enjoyed our weekend at a place I’d recommend.
