(Review written Aug 2006) We stayed here on our 1st ever holiday in our folding camper. We were given a hard standing pitch which was a bonus. It is a lovely site, very clean and well kept. The toilets were cleaned regularly and the showers were free. The pools were great and we were in them almost every day! The play areas for the children were a godsend! We had a good week with the weather as it only rained the 1st night we were there, then we had glorious sunshine all week! The shop was well stocked and the staff were all very friendly. The meals we had at the clubhouse were very good and quite a reasonable price. The site was quite expensive and with this years (2006) price increases unfortunately we can't afford to stay here again, but we are really disappointed about that as we would definitely stay here again. I have also converted my husband from a reluctant camper to a camping nutter, and we are now thinking of upgrading to a touring caravan for next years holiday (2007). The airport is great, a nice little museum and my husband really enjoyed his flight over the Menai Straights and Snowdonia. The beach is also a short walk away and is quite clean and tidy. Overall we had a brilliant holiday here and would definitely recommend the site.

The site is still boggy. It rained the day before we got there, and despite a fine weekend , there were still surface puddles when we left. Friends of ours camped, and didn't have too many problems, but it wasn't great for the kids, who soaked all of their clothes every half hour. Mud everywhere. The pool is great. It's so warm, you can see the steam rising off it, and the paddling pool is great for kids up to about 5 years old.

Well spaced pitches, high standard of cleaning of toilets and shower block (although there is only one block this was never a problem) Lovely outdoor pool with a separate area for the little ones. Well stocked shop with friendly staff. Clubhouse has entertainment and again friendly staff with delicious meals. When we stayed there was a torrential down fall and the fields can get very bogged down - but the owners are working on this. Airport is great - I recommend a flight in a microplane! Loved it that much - staying for the season this year.

August 2005 Morfa Lodge is a good site for caravans, but not for tents. It is expensive (£27 per night), but for that you get use of swimming pool and restaurant / bar. You need to leave a £10 deposit to obtain a key for the toilets which seems a bit pointless. The site is in a lovely location, but unfortunately is extremely exposed. During our stay, six tents ended up in the adjoining nature reserve in the middle of the night. The owners did not seem surprised at this and it seemed like a regular occurrence. Lots of people left after this , but didn't receive much help from the management.
The wind arrived again on our last night which was a bit daunting as we have three small children (the youngest being seven months old). Overall, we met some great people and had a lovely time, but it's the first campsite I've been to which we definitely won't be returning to.
Another plus point is that the site is situated next to the runway of Caernarfon Airport.

July 2005 Wet weekend visit with caravan on hardstanding pitch (fortunately). Some of the grass looked very wet!! might be a bit too wet for some in tents. Toilets and showers; I could only describe these as adequate, with variable water pressure and luke warm water.
Staff however, were exceptionally friendly and helpful even finding various connectors and hoses to allow my aquaroll mains connector to connect to the pitch water supply. You have to lift your wastemaster up over the loo disposal point though as there are no ground level drains.. Pool looks good and club house seemed friendly too!

May 2005 I have left a review last year saying that the site smelt of raw sewage in high season. I am glad to say that the problem causing this has been fixed. Also the range on menu has been extended and the food is good value for money and well cooked. The entertainmemt has also improved.

May 2005 This is only a limited review as we did not stay ont this campsite. We booked ahead for the May Day Bank Holiday for 2 adults and a baby in a tent. Arrived at the campsite to find it had rained for a few days before and the ground was marshy. We decided to leave on the basis that if it rained during our break we would be in trouble and the baby had just got over a bad cold so we went to reception and I must say the customer service is excellent, refund given without argument, very understanding. However would have liked a bit of notice about state of pitches as we then had to search around half of North Wales for another site. Imagine if you're in a caravan or static site would be great - lovely location.

August 2004 Location of site: - Approx 1/2 mile from lovely beach, ideal for kite flying! Situated right next to Caernarfon Airport, immediately in flight path, but the children love it and they only fly light aircraft and helicopters in the day.
Site: - Very generous pitches, nicely laid out site, friendly owners/staff. Only 1 toilet block though, and you are allocated a key on arrival (for a deposit of £10), and need key to gain access to toilets as well as showers. Very clean and excellent showers. Lovely outdoor pool, with separate toddlers/children's pool. Large shop very well stocked.
Only 1 slight problem if you are tenting, the fields have a tendency to become boggy after heavy rain. The occupants next to us had to dig a ditch and bail out their Khyam, but we had no problems in our tent. Wellies recommended.
All in all, had a very good time at this site. Would Recommend.

9.08.03 Site is in a great position and there's loads of places for kids to explore. it is cheap also. The only thing that lets it down is it can smell of raw sewage in peak times and this can be sickening. The drainage is not good either and the fields can be boggy in heavy rain. The staff are nice and friendly and kids enjoy the outdoor pool.

Every 2 weeks usually I admit I'm not a camper. I have a static on the site and just thought I'd look at the opinion of campers. I've been staying here for about 5 years now. I love it down there! I've got a lot of mates anyone remember me? Terry(dobbo) ? email if you do! The pool is heated and its great especially when it's raining. For some reason it's hot when it rains! I think they turn the heaters up! The food in the club is great( mmm chips and gravy) however takeaway prices have just been increased drastically (not happy!). I find the fields get floody regularly especially at Easter and in October. The football pitch is very uneven and needs to be flattened out but great for game. Even more so at peak time. Recommend it to anyone except for teenagers who get horribly victimised!!!!
