Our first weekend in our new touring caravan. Can't say enough. Very friendly, very clean site, great new shower block. Very quiet ( schools hols over !)
We rang and booked then paid via BACS payment. Then sent booking form via email. Be patient for a reply though. We thought that our email had not been received then we got a confirmation a couple of days before our stay.
Choice of pitches and flexible checking out time on Sunday as the site was quiet due to end of school hols'
Only 2. 3miles to Fountains Abbey.
No food at The Inn so we ate The George at Wormald green ( very good )
Thankyou for a great weekend. Will definitely coming back !

Just got back from a great weekend camping. The site is spot on. EHU, new shower block and pub on the site
Would recommend to couples, groups and families, there was a mix when we stayed with no probs.
Mid way between Harrogate and ripon just off main road set in a quite village
Reception booking in easy enough as the young lady who runs site was very helpful. Good value for money at £20 a night with electric
No phone or 3G signal. But that's not there fault
Friendly owners who told us not to rush off on the Sunday and take our time packing. Great 5 stars

Just returned from a fantastic weekend at this camp site, lovely family run site. Very easy reach to Lightwater Valley and Fountains Abbey where we spent two brilliant days.
The site is very clean and well kept, two local pubs one serving excellent food at very reasonable prices
Would certainly recommend this site to anyone who wants to get away from it all on a nice quiet site in a lovely little village
We will certainly be returning
Thanks for a lovely stay

On arrival we were welcomed by a friendly young lady who gave us a choice of pitches. However when we enquired about the place being for Camping & Caravanning Club members only, we were asked where we had heard that. The fact that it is listed in the C&CC 2013 book, and the rather large sign on the door stating it, was a bit of a giveaway. We were told it is no longer a certificated site and we must pay £20 per night instead of the usual £10-£12. Not a good start! We were there, so we decided to stay. The site itself was fairly well-kept, with short grass and tarmac roadways. There was a new toilet block but that was quite a walk from the tourer pitches (which didn't seem to make much sense), so we used the old one which was clean considering it was old. It does look as though some effort is being made to get rid of the many statics and replace them with tourer pitches as there were some vacant bays. There was a good playpark for the kiddies which was well-designed, fenced and visible. Not sure we'll call again because of having to pay double what we anticipated.

We've just returned from an excellent bank holiday weekend at this site. This was our first visit but will not be our last. The site has a mix of statics, tourers and tents. The site has everything a family could want, lovely grassed play areas, a playground with small pool and for the adults the pub has a patio area where you can sit and have a drink. On a colder day there is a conservatory area where children and dogs are welcome.
Toilets and showers were always clean and there was a brand new shower block towards the top end (although we didn't use this one). The owners couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Our 7 year old said it was her favourite place ever.
In a lovely village where there is a shop selling everything you could want and another pub down the road offering bar meals you are also just a ride away from brimham rocks and fountains abbey to mention only a few, what more could you want. Can't wait to return.

This site is made up of static caravans, tents and tourers.
It is situated behind the Yorkshire Hussar's pub and is approximately half way between Ripon and Harrogate.
In August most years, the pub hold a music festival in the pub car park. Many and varied live bands perform on the purpose built stage. Music must cease at midnight and only occurs once a year.
The pub sells real ale but no food other than the usual snacks.
The site has excellent facilities in terms of toilet, shower and waste disposal.
Great location for exploring beyond Markington but lots of local walks too.
Very helpful owners - family-run business

What a cracking little site! Yes, the toilets are a little bit dated, but they were kept clean throughout our weekend stay. I loved how the hedges give privacy, and the way the tent pitches are laid out means cars aren't constantly driving past.
Nice little play area, which our 2 year old loved. The cost is ok, £20 a night with EHU, but the kids are £1. 50 pn each, which hikes it up a bit.
Fountains Abbey is only a couple of miles away, and as we're members of the national trust, it was a cheap day out!
I will definitely be going back. I just hope it stays as quiet as it was when we were there!

First time staying at this site and was recommended by one of the group we stayed with.
Was around 15 in our group consisting of 7 campervans
Stayed 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend on an electric hook up pitch
Great family run site, very friendly and helpful on check in, well signed from the road. Some interesting forms of transport, old cars, tractors etc.
There was a nice sized play area for the kids to play in, there was also a padding pool but this wasn't in use (guessing due to the cold weather through May)
There is 2 toilet blocks on site, only used the one next to the camping/electric pitches but they were basic & clean. Only grumble would be there is no heater in the toilets so was a bit cold showering. The water pressure was a little lacking for the shower but heat wasn't an issue and it served a purpose.
We visited Lightwater Valley theme park which was a short drive away.
The cost was a little expensive due to the basic toilet/showering facilities but a very relaxing site and would recommend to anyone in the area.

This a great family run site who also own both pubs in the village.
We return to this site constantly and have seen a definite improvement this year.
The toilets could do with updating but overall the level of cleanliness has improved this season with paper hand towels added, mops left in the loos and the amount of times the toilets are cleaned.
The park has seen the addition of 2 swings and the climbing frame has been updated with a new slide, new tyres, etc. The paddling pool is geat when the weather is nice when they will fill it up and leave the hose out for the kids to play with.
The electric does trip when the site is full due to the system being overloaded with heaters, kettles, etc and did go off one night but they had it back on within 30 mins.
The pub on the site doesn't serve food so we tend to go along to the Cross Keys pub in the village which does serve lovely food and the locals are very friendly and make you feel so welcome.
The site is very central to Ripon, Harrogate, Knaresborough and is definitely worth a visit.

Had an enjoyable two night mid-week stay at this site, during half term week.
Location is great, there are plenty of places to visit with a short drive. Campsite is easy to find.
Tents are located on a small field at the far end of the site. There is a small incline on the field, but not too bad.
I think there could be a serious shortage of showers on a busy weekend only one male & one female shower to share between everyone. We opted to beat the rush and shower at 7 am.
The site was well maintained on the whole, but the entrance part of the site could do with a tidy up (heaps of broken plastic chairs and junk laid around), but the toilet blocks were very clean.
The site is adjoining a pub, but it wasn't open on either of the days we stayed, and looked as though it may have closed down.
Other than that its a very good site, maybe more suited to caravans than tents, but it wouldn't stop me staying there again.
