10 night stay in mid August.
This site is located at the foot of Bodmin moor, about 15 minutes from St Austell to the South West, 10 minutes from Bodmin to the North, 15 minutes from Fowey to the South and around 35 minutes from Padstow on the north Cornwall coast. This is an ideal spot from which to explore pretty much anywhere in Cornwall and is just off the A30 so very quick to get to. The site itself is nicely situated just a couple of hundred yards from the village of Lanliven and a six or seven hundred yards from the A390. There is a lovely pub in the village, which serves high quality food and good cask ales.
Although fairly large the site is laid out as a number of separate fields divided by thick hedges, each of which has between maybe a dozen and twenty or so pitches, giving a strong feeling of privacy and calm. The centre of the field we were in is, as with several others, kept open providing a nice space for kids to play in. All pitches have electric hookups and there are very conveniently spaced stations for water, rubbish and recycling. A stream runs through the middle of the site, which gives a lovely feeling to the place.
The site has two facilities blocks: The first of these is among the best I've seen and provides toilets, showers and wash basins. This is close to a laundry, a games room and a TV lounge (very useful for the youngsters when weather doesn't permit much more) and washing up area, all of which were well kept throughout our stay.
The second facilities block deserves a special mention as this is without question the very best that I've personally seen either in the UK or abroad: this building is divided into self contained bathrooms with toilet, basin and a proper self contained shower cubicle in each - perfect for all needs and excellent for a parent and younger child who needs assistance. One of the niggles of camping on many sites for me is the awkwardness of keeping clothes and shoes dry in a tiny shower cubicle and then getting dried and dressed without letting your towel or any item of your clothing come into contact with an inevitably soaking wet floor - no such problem here!
A playground is provided for kids with swings and slides etc.
There is no shop at the site though several large supermarkets are within a fifteen minute drive so this certainly didn't prove a problem for us during our stay.
Staff on the site are both friendly and helpful and seem to take a real sense of pride in maintaining this site to an extremely high standard.
Our stay at Eden Valley was a little marred by inclement weather for the first six days of our holiday. This would have been a problem on a lesser site but we still managed to enjoy our stay a great deal. Another review complains of the ground being waterlogged - to be fair our field was heading this way during our stay, but with the amount of sustained rain that we had this is of little surprise and I've certainly stayed at several sites where this is a much bigger problem than at Eden Valley.
This is definitely one of the nicest UK sites we have visited in seven years of camping and next time we're in Cornwall will be a no-brainer as a place to stay. I've stayed on considerably lesser sites for considerably higher cost and can happily report that considering the very high quality of this site Eden Valley is without doubt one of the best value sites you will find in a major UK tourist area. Our pitch was £16. 00 per night for tent, two adults + baby, including electric hookup.

Lovely campsite, really friendly staff, campsite lay out is good with two shower blocks. One block has the most amazing power showers!
Easy to find. It is off a main road with a sharp turn, so be careful entering the campsite. Also has a narrow lane to go down approaching the campsite.
Campsite, could not fault it, there was a lovely pub a walk up a hill about 10-15mins. I little pricey but worth it
Very close to the Eden Project (6 miles)
Campsite is child friendly and very quiet at night
Would definitely go there again

My wife and 5 year old son stayed here for 10 nights in our tent. The site is located in a rural area and the paddocks are surrounded by high trees which prevents the wind causing any problems. But this also prevents the sun from getting through.
The site is organised into paddocks that have approx 10 pitches in each. Everyone has hook up. It is true that the new shower block is top notch. So much so that that this makes the older block look more dated than it actually is.
We did encounter a considerable amount of rain whilst here and the paddock did quickly become bogged, and cleared as quick. The play area is extensive, although is starting to show some fatigue.
The owners are very friendly and always available, working long hours.
When you consider value for money this site is the best.

A perfect campsite set in a perfect location to visit both North and South coasts. The owner Darren is one of the most welcoming owners you would want to meet making your stay more personal than being a number on most sites ! His knowledge of the area is extremely helpful.
The toilet blocks were looked after constantly throughout the day. Children have plenty to do with the play area and field as well as games and TV room.
Our daughter enjoyed so much freedom as the site is extremely safe. Nice pub (the Crown) close by.
All in all a top site run by TOP people, thanks again Darren.

We spent a glorious week at Eden Valley. The weather certainly was in our favour. We were sited in the last little 'cul de sac', which, at first was very pleasant.
We were able to feed the baby blackbirds, robin and a couple of field mice it was that quiet!
The older block of showers was very good, didn't try the new block. Always clean and plenty of hot water. The only drawback from our point of view was there was not a shop on-site. Even a small one for the basics would have been better than having to take the vehicle into Lostwithiel (Did try cycling it but the 17% gradient on the way back nearly killed me!)
Lostwithiel was a lovely place to visit and nearby Lanhydrock was brilliant. We didn't have any children with us but the facilities for them were superb.

Beautiful site well laid out. The older but fully functional facilities at the top of the site are complemented by shiny new facilities.
Great shower but not easiest to get in and out for a moderately obese person, and the floor was prone to being left wet. Primrose field had tendency to waterlogging after modest Cornish rain (we had plenty) - not ideal using a grass friendly groundsheet.
These issues aside a really nice place to stay.
Do spend a little time exploring Lostwithiel and its history. Plenty shops, a co-op supermarket, and the best cream tea we've had in a while.
We toured by train from Lostwithiel station - free parking and trains to Penzance and Plymouth and the branch lines - but get a timetable as service is erratic. Fares cheaper than a day's parking in most places.

Spent 8 days at Eden Valley Holiday Park at the beginning of Semptember. Had a fabulous week. Plenty of electric hook-ups even for tents. Beautiful clean, quiet site. Site split into small fields with good hedgerows between whidh made them very sheltered.
Facilities in new toilet block are second to none. Owners (Darren and Ginny) are very friendly and most helpful. Location is ideal for visiting South Cornwall resorts and ports.
Eden Project only 15 mins. Drive away. Cornish Indoor Markets and large supermarkets at St. Austell (7 Miles). Will definitely be back again next year!

Hi.Just a few words to let you know about our visit to eden valley holiday park. About all of the site (clean) the owners (happy and friendly) the surrounding area (basically ALL you need and close) a very good standard campsite.
We stayed for 2 weeks in crocus, plot 55. The stream was behind us but the opposite bank had high trees that kept us shaded most of the day even on hot days ( but that made us see more of beautiful Cornwall). I would now prefer plot 60 upwards on crocus. But fantastic, well worth the wait for.
From here we visited gorgeous Boscastle all way to St Ives on the north coast and Tor Point (for an emergency dentist) and Plymouth to Falmouth on the south coast and most places in between.
The fishing was great too. A great base to see Cornwall from. We did a total of 1497 miles in 15 days. We had the best weather possible the 1st week and also pretty good the 2nd week.
We would definitely visit again (in a less shady spot please Ginny). Possibly the best site we've stayed on and a credit to Ginny and the family.

Visited in august, found the site very clean and well kept, divided into small paddocks. The power showers were excellent, and no queues in the evenings
The kids loved the playground. A great family orientated site that we shall be visiting again, and no doubt the others in our party felt the same.
One of the best sites we have ever stayed on. Peaceful and relaxing, only a 10 minute drive from Par Sands, which was excellent for the kids.

Just returned from a weeks stay, owners couldn't have been nicer, Darren was our daily weather update which was largely dreadful. It was the wettest week I have spent in a tent.
The facilities at the site however were top notch, the closer shower and toilet block were very modern and very clean. The older shower block was also kept very clean but could possibly do with a little make over and most people tended to use the newer block even from the top fields.
Laundry room was first class and clean as you would expect with very reasonbly priced washing machines as well as an iron and ironing board, etc.
All the fields were broken up by well maintained hedging which kept the wind at bay, and added a feel of cosiness to the site as you got the feeling you weren't stuck in a very large field.
The only negatives I can offer is that washing up facilities could have been a little closer. The fields where we were could do with some real drainage, it got a little boggy around the ankles. We did have a lot of rain though.
