A very peaceful, attractive and well run site. Although quite large it is divided into small areas holding about 8-10 pitches each divided by mature hedges and trees.
The toilet/shower blocks are excellent although the new block only has 3 cubicles each with it's own shower and toilet per gender. This can lead to a bit of a wait in the morning. The original building has 4 showers and 7 separate toilets per gender (plus hairdryer for the ladies).
Wash-up/food prep area has plenty of sinks and all areas are cleaned twice a day. There is also a games room and safe play area for children and for pets there is a separate exercise area for them. No shop on site but only a 5 min drive into the nearest town with excellent shops for provisions.

Just returned from a week long stay.
The site is separated into small paddocks with hedging between them, each paddock holds around ten units. Both are kept spotlessly clean and the newer block has power showers installed. The site was quite busy when we stayed which meant a queue for the newer showers in the morning and the evening. There was always a free shower in the older block which was just as clean. There was a television room and a games room and also excellent laundry facilities and a freezer for ice blocks. The owners were very friendly and always around the site with a weather forecast. All in all, would highly recommend this site.

Had a lovely 4 night stay, washrooms very clean with enough showers and plenty of free hot water.
The freezer for ice packs was very handy. Our children (9 and 4) loved the play park.
Lots of lighting after dark.
Very friendly and helpful owners.
The hedges provided protection and seclusion as only 10 units per area.
Eden project and Charlestown beach are well worth a trip.
Tesco about 10 min drive away in St Austell.

Fantastic site with excellent shower and toilet facilities. We are are family of six and found the new modern Shower block clean, the separate cubicles are excellent and larger than your normal shower block.
The caravan pitches are well placed out and in lovely surroundings. The site is ideal for exploring the North Coast and the South Coast. Lostwithiel is only 5 minutes away by car, and as excellent shopping for your daily / weekly shop, it must also be noted that the parking in the town is free.
We all enjoyed a pub lunch at the nearby Crown Pub in Lanlivery (with very friendly staff) which is only a 10 minute stroll away. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we will be back very soon to enjoy this site once again.

Just stayed for 3 nights, beautiful park, with fantastic facilities including power showers, very friendly owners. Would highly recommend. Will definitely go back.
Lots of space for children with what looked a great play field, not having children with us just some friends, it suits for all tastes.
Wonderful Pub in Lanlivery just a ten minute walk, also in Lanlivery a pretty church. Just five minutes drive to Lostwithiel, which has a great butchers, bakers and a Coop.

We have just returned from Eden Valley (much more appropriate name than Powderam Castle). One word would describe the site 'Excellent'
We approached the site via the most difficult route and this proved to be no problem, the greeting from the owners was terrific most welcoming.
Large site with several hedges making for comfortable sites with lots of sunny positions, all sites have electric hook-up if needed, many are hardstanding with more being added with hard roads being extended as we write
Toilet blocks are very well maintained (the new one is unadulterated luxury). Laundry with ironing facilities, washing up with instant hot water and veg prep areas are excellent and clean
Facilities on this safe site for children are something else with many structures, rides, etc. all in a separate playground / field. There is a separate games room with t-tennis,pool and table football next to a TV room.
A grassed field is available for dog walking. A pay phone and gas changing is on site. With caravans and holiday lodges on site for hire there are loads of alternatives.
Close by is Lostwithiel,Bodmin Moor, Fowey and of course so convenient for the Eden Project. Footpaths including 'Saints way' are nearby,

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
The tent pitches are small hedged paddocks for about 10 tents.Plenty of room. We were near the new toilet block which was excellent and very well maintained.
There is an adventure playground on the site which our kids loved and there is a games room with table tennis, table football and pool. We were happy for our 5 yr old and 7yr kids to wander the site freely.
The owners and they're family made us feel very welcome. They were always available. It was common to see the owner wandering the site from 8 in the morning till around 10 at night.
Supermarkets were all nearby. We used Bodmin as it offered more Asda, Morrisons etc. Many attractions all nearby, Fowey is stunning.
My only gripes are, no shop and when it rained (as it did when we were there) the ground gets very wet very quick. The junction from the main road is on a downhill bend. This made me nervous when turning off the main road onto the track. The track / road to the site is fine (one car wide with passing places) but some of the other campers thought they were in the rac rally!
Would we go back? Yes, without a doubt

We stayed here at the end of a very wet summer and perhaps didn't see the site at it's best. Everywhere was sodden and although we were okay at the top of a field others didn't fare so well and were left in a quagmire!
We were also overrun with wasps and couldn't open windows / doors or sit outside even on the odd occasion when the sun shone. Areas of the site are still a work in progress.
Facilities, however, were fine - cleaned regularly etc. The site is ideal for touring this part of Cornwall - Fowey, Eden Project etc.
We enjoyed our stay but probably won't go back due to aforementioned issues and also in a motorhome, there really isn't anywhere you can walk / cycle to from the site.

Stayed here several times over the years and this used to be a lovely well kept site, a real gem, unspoilt and peaceful. Now it looks like a building site. Apparently they've been building on the site for 2 years and nothing is finished. The toilet block advertised a new 2009 only 1st opened when we were there in August. Lots of complaints about the showers and it was based in a static van which they hadn't finished siting.
Most fields were muddy but the quality of the grass was terrible with reed grass growing in most fields. One field had a few log cabins in, very unfinished and a real death trap for the kids. They apparently have been working on these cabins for 2 or 3 years, still bricks and rubble everywhere, looked like a builders yard.

Sadly disappointed with this site. Pitch was sodden the ground was very marshy. We were put on the two wettest pitches and had to move our tents as after a days rain the water was flowing through our friends tent into ours. Very poor drainage. It wasn't just because of the rain the whole site had reeds growing which shows how marshy it is.Even when it had been dry for a day it was still sodden.
My friend who has been camping at least 6 years and who has been on many different sites said it was the worst site she has ever been on.
On a positive note the toilet and shower block was kept spotlessly clean, unfortunately it was a long walk to use the facilities especially in the middle of the night when child is desperate. There was supposed to be another toilet block near where we were pitched but that hasn't been completed yet.
The children's play area was fantastic and funnily enough was the driest place on the whole site. There was a games room and tv room. Unfortunately there was no shop to even get the basics bread milk etc.
If you could guarantee a dry week it would be lovely as its a very pretty setting near to Lostwithiel which is a lovely town. And very central for the Eden project etc.
Because of drainage situation we won't be returning to Eden valley. Maybe in the future if problem sorted out we might.
