We visited this site for five nights. Our pitch was spacious and fairly flat. Campsite is just a nice size and there was plenty for the kids to do. Pub served good meals and the shop was always well stocked if a little expensive. The fresh bread and croissants were delicious! The staff were friendly enough and the campers kitchen was a big help especially when it rained and it was difficult to cook in the tent. Although our pitch was right next to the pub there was very little noise at night and a security guard goes round making sure everyone is quiet. The river at the bottom of the site is lovely for the children to play in especially in nice weather and the children's playground was also really popular. We would definitely visit this site again and would recommend it to anybody looking for a family friendly camp site.

My first camping trip in a very long time as well as taking my 2 boys (5 & 8) on their first trip.
I would say limefitt was a very good park. Pitch size was good. The boys enjoyed the play park and the activity field with football goals on. Toilets were nice and not that far from any of the pitches. The toilets and the showers were clean , warm and well maintained.
The pub was warm and the Black Sheep beer seemed on form as well.
Launderette including ironing boards was a nice touch. As mentioned in one of the other reviews the area by the washing up scullery can get a but damp on the floor - I think this was due to the power of the taps being incredibly strong.
Shop was good even if the opening hours were a bit short but I suspect this was as it was early in the season.
Be careful if using sat-nav to get to and from the site - it can take you via very small lane. Better to follow the instructions provided.

Having just returned from a weekend at Limefitt Park we felt we had to submit a review. It was beautiful, the views are stunning.
The pitch size was fine and we didn't feel cramped at all. The facilities are clean and everything you need is on site, including a well stocked shop and pub. Although we don't have children ourselves, the play area looked very good and they all seemed to enjoy the rock pool.
I would definitely recommend this site. In fact we're hoping to return in a few weeks time, weather permitting!

September 2004 This is a lovely site, clean, quiet and well kept. Pitches are spaced out well giving ample room for tents and cars. The toilets and showers are beautiful and clean. For those wishing to stay onsite of an evening there is a bar which serves meals, and a takeaway on site. Will come again.

June 2005 Just returned from a weekend stay at Limefitt Park. We stayed in a tent on very good pitch with excellent facilities and superb views. The atmosphere among the campers seemed very friendly too. We booked our stay two weeks in advance and we were slightly disappointed on our arrival that the pitch allocated to us was taken by other campers, administration seemed a bit lax. The situation was resolved eventually and we ended up on a good pitch. Would recommend the park to anyone and I am certain we will return ourselves one day.

April 2005 This site is the best we have stayed in, (in the lakes), we thought the super pitches were a bit pricey, but as we only stayed for two nights, it didnt break the bank. There was plenty of space on our pitch, with the added bonus of not having to walk for water.
The showers are spotless, the block we used was in the centre of the park, but I was surprised to see there was only 3 showers, I could imagine a long wait in busy periods, the shower I had was cold and having an air vent above me didn't help, on the other hand my husbands shower was so hot he had to keep running in and out, but apart from that I couldn't fault the shower block.
There is a well stocked shop (not too pricy) , launderette, takeaway, cooks kitchen for the campers, the pub is traditional and they do nice food, all the staff are really friendly.
The views from the site are lovely and there are some really good walks in the area.
If you are taking kids with you there are plenty to keep them entertained, indoor games room, adventure playground and a river runs through the site..... We will be going back to this site again..

March 2005 Very impressive site in a good location not to far away from the towns but situated just off the Kirkstone Pass with impressive views giving it a rural and secluded feel. Toilet and shower facilities were clean and there is a large area for playing football and other ball games next to the site. Also note that there can be a lot of noise from the onsite pub so try to pitch a bit further away as we were pitched right next to it which caused some disturbance but only for a few minutes when the pub was closing. There is a shop on site which is much cheaper than the Booths supermarket at Windermere. There is also a campers kitchen with hobs and a drinks machine. Would not advise staying at this particular site at this time of year as the winds coming down from Ullswater were particular cold at night and can get up to gale force. Overall view of this site is very good and will be going again at the end of May given that the weather will be warmer. I would give this site 9/10.

April 2004 Being situated in the Lake District, this is a very picturesque location and when we arrived it was a beautiful peaceful evening. However some of the late night drinkers got a bit loud later on. The toilet facitilies are immaculate and would not be out of place in a decent hotel. Down side is this is expensive, although normal for the area, and beware the prices in the on site pub! Despite bad weather on our second night, the bar was empty - we soon discovered why!!!

July 2004 Great site, great views, great for kids of all ages. Lots of walks from easy strolls to days out on the hills. Who needs a swimming pool when the river is right there. Watch out for the Badgers in the early hours as they are very happy to get under your flysheet in search of any uncovered food. Super pitches were fanatastic and with a eight month old as well as a five year old and a severn year old the clean toilets and showers were very welcome.

July 2004 Lovely site - great facilities for children, and a well stocked shop.
The pub faces in exactly the right direction to enjoy a post walk pint whilst basking in the late afternoon sun - weather permitting.
Campers' kitchen is a good facility to have if the weather is bad, and it was nice not to be charged for ice block freezing.
Good toilet/shower facilities, though during our visit some of the dishwashing sinks were leaking which meant that the floor round your feet got wet whilst you were doing the washing up.
Lovely views from the site, and lots of walking without needing to move the car. It was also a bonus not so see loads of other walkers - especially in view of the fact that we visited on the first weekend after the beginning of the school holidays.
We definitley plan to return.
