Have stayed here more times than I can remember! £5 a head to the owner when he comes around in the morning with his dog is a bargain and the views of Siabod are thrown in for free!
Yes, it's basic but the shower block is always clean and there's always been hot water when we've been there.
The Tyn-y-Coed is the nearest pub, about half a mile up the A5 towards Capel and is fine for pub grub. The Bryn Tyrch is about another half mile in the same direction and is now quite up-market. The food is lovely but you will pay for it and you may need to reserve a table on a busy weekend.

Just come back from another weekend at Dolgam, as usual the farmer was nice and friendly (even gives you advice on the weather for the next few days).
Free showers with hot water, always plenty of toilet roll in the toilets and plenty of space on the site. All a bargain at £5 per person per night!
Cant wait to go back again in July and August, hopefully the weather will be a bit better.

I have used this site many times since 1984. This is the only place I camp in North Wales. I really love this site and have many good memories there.
Toilets/wash room are basic but I don't mind. It adds to the fun. Pubs are only 90 minutes walk (swallow falls hotel). The farmer is really good and helpful. Stream is cold but good for kids to swim. Will always go back there. PS dont forget the torch!

I stayed here to walk in the surrounding hills with fellow walkers.
The facilities are basic but fine, usable, plenty of toilets.
Reasonable price for site
Pub and a cafe in walking distance. With good food and beer.
Reasonable big size to campsite so no space issues

I stayed here to have access to the wonderful mountains nearby. It lies in view of moel siabod and the river runs through the site. This creates beautiful surroundings. The pub is approx 1 mile up the road. Facilities are basic but adequate and for 4 quid a person is great value for money. I will stay here in the future.

I have visited this site many times in the past but I am new to reviews so this is the 1st time I have written a review for it.
It is wonderful location, the views of the mountains are lovely and the close proximity to the river is great for children. Although it is popular with Walkers / climbers families are still welcome, I stopped on the site when I was a child with my mum and dad and I now go back with my daughter along with other family members.
The facilities are basic but fine; there is hot water and plenty of separate washbasins with room for your things! Take your torch at night because there are no lights in the toilet block.
We like to walk from the site to Betws-y-Coed, once at the 'Ugly House' you can go off road and it is a lovely walk past the falls into the village.

Stayed here a couple of times and can't fault it. Yes it is very basic but at £5 a night for my campervan, it was a steal.
The location is beautiful - great view of Moel Siabod, and the site is right on the River Llugwy. It costs £14 a day to fish on this river, however if you camp here fishing is free! As far as I am concerned I am getting paid to stay here and fish! If you want to go up Siabod (highly recommended - great view of the rest of Snowdonia), this campsite is ideally situated for it.
The ground can get boggy and my camper got stuck, however the farmer came straight out and pulled me out then let me park up in front of his gate on the gravel track. He is a very nice fellow.
The walk into Betws-Y-Coed is really lovely. You walk along the road to the Ugly House then you can follow the River LLugwy down into the village (the path right next to the river can be steep in places, young kids would struggle at times, however there is an easy forestry track that can be followed instead) - you get a lovely view of Swallow Falls on the way, and I only passed one other person on the walk. Think it took me about 90 minutes to walk.
There is also a great pub going the other way on the A5 toward Capel Curig, can't recall what it is called, but it is a big yellow building so you can't miss it.
Has a nice beer garden and does great Real Ales. Food is a bit pricey but decent enough. Takes about 15-20 minutes to walk (take a torch, even though there is a path by the road)
All in all will continue to come here.

Found the site easily, went to pay at the farm (which is also a B&B), and were then told to pitch anywhere. There was plenty of room to pitch tents, nice flat field. The toilets, although basic, were very clean, always plenty of toilet roll, and you don't have to pay. There is just a push button to activate the water (which was always hot!). The bins on the field for our rubbish were regularly emptied and the campsite owner was very friendly. Other than that we were left undisturbed (except for the sheep in the field across the road, they were rather noisy!). It is in a lovely area, between Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig which is an area popular with walkers and climbers, since it's very close to Snowdon, Tryfan and other popular spots. You are also within half an hour's drive to the coast. There is lots to do in the area and there is a Tourist Information Centre in Betws-y-Coed, where there are lots of leaflets and very helpful staff. Would definitely use this campsite again in the future, probably when we visit the area again to climb Snowdon!

Beautiful location, although drove past it before we realised it was the field with the stone hut. Basic is an understatement. I would say the old stone/concrete cattle feed shed had been converted into two showers, his and hers toilets, and about 4 cubicled sink units. No lights so take a head torch, and some wellies! But only cost me £3 per person per night for my tent - cheaper than staying at home!
River was lovely, mountains were lovely.
Was only spoilt by the youths doing their DOE/PT thingy across Snowdonia who were very inconsiderately noisy one night. Apart from them, it was very quiet.
Could pitch anywhere on sight.
Great location for walks. Close to Snowdon which nearly killed me but was beautiful. Perfect mountain country.
Betys-Y-Coed nearby, perfect for shopping and really pretty too.
Worth the day drips to Caernarvon, The Slate Museum, the big mine you can go into and lots more - all within 1 hour.

This camp site boasts an idyllic location; we were lulled to sleep by the gently running waters of the brook, we also enjoyed watching the farmer and his dog round up the sheep at the end of the day!
As other reviews have stated, facilities are somewhat spartan, but ideal if you're used sites with just toilets, basins and showers.
Very little noise from other campers, and most of those I talked too had stayed here many times: there's no better endorsement than a return visit!
Excellent value for money and a friendly owner who was happy to help us with directions and details of local attractions.
Overall we would heartily recommend this site, and I'm sure we'll be visiting again soon!
