Excellent base for exploring this part of Wales. Basic no frills campsite at brilliant price. No playground, no clubhouse! Just flat grassy pitches, a river with shingle beach area, and the most magnificent views! Excellent friendly owners.
The site is next to a main road but the traffic didn't overly bother us. We all slept quite well. Midges were plentiful, but you can't have the joys of a river without them, so pack insect repellent, if required.
There are about a dozen electric pitches all with hardstanding/grass combo. Plus plenty of space for other campers to pitch and spread out.
Small stone building provides shelter for:
2 washing up sinks with hot water.
3 mens loo cubicles and 2 urinals.
4 ladies loo cubicles.
3 unisex showers and 6 private lockable washing/basin areas.
Walks/climbing/canoeing/ziplines and cycling on your doorstep and the whole of North Wales easily accessible. We spent time in Anglesey too.
Would definitely come back again!

Fantastic find, the weather was gorgeous and fantastic view of mountains and trees, great spot, there's even a river for a spot of swimming, the toilets and showers are clean and spotless and the owners made you feel so welcome.
Buses run along the A5 frequently great for going to Swallow falls or Betws y coed, which is absolutely stunning, plenty of walking and the owners do Nordic walking tours.
Do not let the A5 put you off very quiet at night.
Would recommend for families or couples.

We like Dolgam for its location, just outside of Betws y Coed. The site is quite large but can get busy at weekends, but is mainly a quiet site.
The site is edged by the river, which does get pretty high after heavy rainfall. Toilets and showers are spotless.
Lovely views of Siabod and other mountains, some fab walks along the Afon Lugwy. The Siabod cafe is 10 minutes walk away, serves good hot food.
Food shops are in Betws y Coed but limited to basic items, you may need to go further afield for non basic food.

Great site - toilet block is spotless,
Campsite is quiet at night and the owners are really nice and friendly.
Couldn’t ask for anything more for a long weekend.

Loved this site, really convenient for walking Moel Siabod (which was our reason for staying). The site has a great view of Siabod, to boot.
The Sherpa bus stops just outside the site giving easy access to Betws-y-Coed (although it’s a lovely walk there along the river) as well as Snowdon.
The site has a small and very clean toilet block.
It’s frequented mainly by walkers which means it lovely and quiet at night.
The site is on the A5 which means you do get a bit of traffic noise. Motorbikes in particular.
The Tyn-y-Coed B&B is a 10/15 minute walk and serves good pub food.

My partner and I stayed for two nights this Easter weekend and were amazed at the beautiful location.
I have stayed on many campsites in Snowdonia but this appealed due to the stunning surroundings. We were in a SWB campervan, it was a case of drive on and find a spot that's suits.
We love a campfire and don't go far without our trusty firepit, however the site provided fire pits and logs, no designated areas either.
Such a relaxed, calm stress free environment, which was just perfect for out first getaway since the Welsh lockdown. Overall very satisfied with our stay, we will sure be back.
Toilets / shower facilities closed due to covid restrictions so I cannot comment.

A great base for exploring Snowdonia.
A spacious site with great views and bounded by a small river.
It can get quite windy so make sure you peg out tents well.
Very clean and secure facilities

A lovely campsite located near Mount Siabod itself and Café Siabod, a short drive from Snowdon and the Devil's Kitchen. A longish walk to Betws-Y-Coed but enjoyable, passing Swallow Falls, The Fairy Glen and the far from 'Ugly Tearooms'
We pitched near the river last time (but this can occasionally flood, if in doubt just ask the owners for advice). We liked this pitch as you could hear the river and weren't too far from the shower block.
NB*
We once parked near the road but the traffic noise and scary speed of the vehicles stopped me from sleeping.
The shower and toilet block is simple and clean, just what is needed after a long day walking, there is a sheltered area for washing dishes.
Fires and dogs aren't permitted, I can understand this as the campsite attracts serious hikers and campers, early to bed, early to rise.
There is a pub not far away if you don't fancy cooking or fancy a wee drinkie.
We used to camp here a lot but we now have a dog so sadly, no longer x

Great site, lovely views and location near Capel Curig. Level hardstanding with electric hook up. Clean basic facilities.
There were many DofE walkers there when we were on site, but there is plenty of room and the site didn't seem over used. Will return.
