My family and I arrived at the site to a lovely welcome from the wardens. We were shown a map of the site and issued the rules especially one about 5mph for cars and the one way system, this was stressed and hi lighted to every new person arriving on site. The site was laid out well, looked lovely and had large pitches. There is lots of local information available in the info centre which helped us greatly as we had never been to this part of the country before. The shower block was dated but very clean. The shop is well stocked for pocket money treats and basic such as bread, milk and tins. The laundry facility was fine though timings of how long the wash would take would have been helpful near the washer. The park was ample for my two children including the enclosed football area though lots of bullying did go on here and one parent told my 12 year old she was too old to be playing in the park. Her daughter was14 but was ok for her! The 5mph rule was not adhered too by most of the people staying, we were located on a blind bend and we could count on our hands the amount of people who actually did the 5mph rule the rest used it as a race course. Only one warden actually told some members to slow down and to follow the one way system but we saw this only once. There is noticeable noise from surrounding sites but this didn't bother us as it didn't go on after 11pm. A site is only as good as the members visiting and as this is a short stay site the feel of the place differed greatly. The wardens were very friendly, chatty and very knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and things to do. I personally feel that the club needs to issue penalties to those who speed around sites and don't follow rules as these rules are to protect the children who don't have road sense and should be safe in our sites.

A very nice site with friendly helpful staff. The walk to the beach is a good 10 minutes away, but great for the dogs. The caters caters well for families and their children with a play park area. The shower blocks etc are a bit dated and difficult to keep clean with unsupervised children not cleaning up after themselves.
I wish that parents would take advantage of these sites to teach their children parts of the highway code ie. oneway systems, give way etc
Overall I would visit the site again out of the holiday season.

If you're looking for a peaceful break, then this is not the site for you! We encountered a noisy motorhome and caravan, both playing their TV's so loud you could hear every word, and two couples who were talking very loudly in their awnings every night til very late. The wardens weren't that keen to deal with the latter, which was a bit disappointing, as CC site wardens are usually very helpful. They actually suggested that we speak to the people directly.
There is also a lot of PA noise from a neighbouring holiday village.
We noticed that the showers weren't cleaned to the usual CC standard either.
Mobile and 3G is very poor on site, and the on site Wi-Fi is also pretty dire.
All in all, very disappointing.

I am not sure I could pick a fault with this site. It was clean, very well kept lawns and beautiful flowers, even little buckets of herbs for the public to pick and use. The whole site was very well looked after and laid out. Plenty of hot water in both male and female showers. One block is older than the other but the fact there is two blocks on this site makes it more convenient for everyone. All the wardens were exceptionally friendly and Martin and Sally gave fantastic information on the local area. Dr Fox's tearoom in Weston was a little gem of homemade goodness right on the water's edge. Perfect location for beautiful long sandy beaches, just judge the tide right, and for Cheddar, Weston, Burnham etc. There was a great little play area for children from 5 to teens with basketball hoops etc. Very dog friendly site even if there is no dog walk on site it is only a 10 min walk down the lane to Berrow Downs and straight onto a dog friendly beach. Pitches were a good size too. Two adults, two older teens and two dogs had a lovely time and will be back I am sure.

We only stayed one night at this site but it was trouble free and we had no difficulty in finding a wide grass pitch. The toilet block was excellent, clean and well equipped. There were no trees on site and no hedges between pitches. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lane leading to the site is very narrow and could be difficult for a large outfit but the site entrance is well laid out and includes a late arrival bay with electricity.

Just spent a nice week at Burnham. Usual CC club site standard with excellent wardens giving first class customer service but there were a few niggles beyond the wardens control. Firstly directions to the site were very poor - no mention of the roundabout with Tesco on and the pub they mention is now a pile of rubble; the showers were not much more than a dribble (I believe there was a problem with the boiler while we were there); toilet flush was also not very powerful, so you were often left to discover what the person before you had done, still in the toilet. Some people are disgusting and leave the toilets in a right mess!; we were located on the back row and decided against paying for wifi as the signal was too poor, equally the data signal on phones was non existent too.
Apart from that, the site is in a good location for walking to the beach and also to Fun City at Brean. The pitch was very nice and large and there is a nice little play park for the kids. The Charity DVD lending library was a godsend as TV reception wasn't great and there were loads to choose from - a lovely touch. Shopping can be done at Lidl, Tesco or Morrisons all found in Burnham. You will need change though for parking at Morrisons as is pay and display.
We had a lovely cheap meal out at the Wetherspoons in Burnham and a day out at Weston Super Mare. The kids loved the Donkey rides and also the horse drawn trains on the beach.
Would not visit Wookey Hole ever again. Very expensive and an arm and a leg for a lot of random things designed to part you with your cash.

We stayed here for two nights following a tour of rural Wales. Check in was smooth and friendly. The facilities on the sites were warm, clean and plentiful. The site was well kept and is laid out in such a way that we were able to find a pitch where we were not overlooked in our camper by the large Caravan units often found on Caravan Club sites. The only negative unfortunately (in our opinion) the site is surrounded on three sides by large static caravan sites, we were able to hear conversations from folks on the commercial sites during the day time and distant music in the evening. The walk to the beach was about 20 mins along a 30 limit road unfortunately without a footpath, then through a nature conservation area of dunes. Parking of camper vans was not easy in the town although it is possible at certain times for between £3 and £7 to park directly on the beach, the town had the usual seaside attractions.

The facilities on the site were fully up to Caravan Club standards. Both toilet blocks were clean with plenty of showers. The hard standing pitch was very good but we did notice some of the grass pitches looked as if they might have been a little boggy! Staff were very friendly and the DVD library is a very good idea (even though we don't have a DVD player!).
The location was not really to our taste as we had to use the car to get anywhere, with no local pubs or shops within easy walking distance.
The entrance to the site is down a very narrow road but this is pointed out in the directions.

This is a nice site in a good location, well kept and generally easy to get to except it could do with some more direction signs as it's easy to miss the turning. We've been there a few times so that wasn't an issue for us however, when we approached this time, the entrance to Hurn Lane was dug up and half of it was cordoned off making it impossible to make the turn without first getting out and moving half the barriers. This I did and just about managed to get round with inches to spare.
We mentioned it to the warden who was nonchalant and disinterested! Several later arrivals also complained but still no warning signs were posted and the problem remained throughout our stay. As a result I put a review on the CC website only for them to immediately remove it! If they are only going to publish positive reviews then in my view, they may as well not publish any.
On this occasion I am only giving 3 stars to Customer Service when previously I would have given 8 or 9

We have just returned from a six night break at this site. The site itself is very well laid out with a good children's play area, it is however surrounded on three sides by a large commercial site, we could hear distant noise on the Saturday night but it did not disturb us too much. It is advisable to follow the caravan club route as the lanes can be narrow.
The wardens were very friendly and efficient at kept the site clean and tidy and up to caravan club standards, the facilities at the grass standing part of the site could do with updating.
The site is good for exploring this part of Somerset, the beach is around a 10 minute walk from the site, we walked to Burnham on Sea and caught the bus back to the site, as someone previously mentioned the cost of the bus was expensive, we were on the bus for about 10 minutes and the cost for two adults and two children was £8. 40, you can also catch the bus from near the site into Weston-super-Mare, Brean is also in easy walking distance.
We were warned before our stay that the site could be very windy, we found this to be true, all in all this was a very enjoyable stay and we hope to return in the near future.
