We have visited Hurn lane twice in the last couple of weeks which is not something we normally do, but the site is great for us and our dog (the site is very dog friendly!).
The site is immaculate and the wardens are very friendly and always stop for a chat on their way round.
We had fish and chips from the van that visits the site on Saturdays and they were yummy!
It suits us that once we have pitched the motorhome we can walk everywhere (there is also an excellent bus service at the end of the lane) and do not move it again until we leave.
The beach is a short walk through the dunes and you can walk for miles in both directions and is open to dogs all year. The beach is so big you can always exercise dogs well away from families.
There is a Mc'Colls supermarket within walking distance towards the fair that stocks just about everything you need.
We often stop in Breakers bar (again quite close to the fair) which is quiet in low season and has a great garden to sit with dogs.
There are lots of campsites in the area which could mean that it is very busy in high season so we make the most of the quieter months!

Burnham on Sea is just off the M5 and you approach this site by turning right off the main road where it veers sharply left. Care must be taken as its a bit of a blind bend. You then travel down a narrow road, so again care needs to be taken. The turning for the Hurn Lane is on you almost before you know it and you need to travel for a couple of hundred yards down an even narrower approach road.
The site itself is immaculate, the shop sells very basic groceries and newspapers can be pre-ordered for a small surcharge. A mobile chip van visits the site on Saturday evenings. There are 2 toilet blocks, of which the main one is the nicer of the two.
The site wasn't quite full while we there, we were tucked away in a corner, the pitch in front of ours and to one side were both free all week. I think it would have been a bit claustrophobic had they been in use.
The kids play area as well as having the usual swings & climbing frames has a small fenced off area for football or basketball.
Only experienced noise from the site next door once and that was a firework display. There is some aircraft noise, but it's hardly noticeably.
The ducks are quite friendly and soon worked out that our youngest son could be relied upon to feed them. Didn't experience any problems with midges even though we were right next to one of the ditches, although that could be because it was still early in the season.
Burnham is a short drive away and you will find a Tesco and an Asda store as well as all the main shops and banks and building societies.
There's lots to do in the local area, Weston Super Mare is just up the road. Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge are good family days out, although if you ask me, once you've seen one cave, you've seen 'em all!
Good quality site.

Having just returned from Hurn Lane, I must write to clarify some points that raised concern when reading reviews.
Hurn Lane is approached by a narrow lane, if you use CC directions it will take you in the safest route, which has a passing place.
Yes other more commercialised sites are nearby, but the noise (which is not that bad) does stop at 10pm.
Surrounding areas, we visited Bath, Bristol Zoo, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Caves, Horse World and West Somerset railway, all within about one hour drive, very central and lots to keep everyone happy.
The wardens were fantastic, they welcomed us and helped out with any questions that we had. Newspapers can be ordered, the shop has essentials and the fish and chip van visits on Saturday.
Toilet blocks were very clean, the site as a whole was very friendly and clean, top wardens!
I would not hesitate to use this site again, top marks.

This was our first ever caravan touring trip and first Caravan Club Members only site.
We were very nervous about what to do and putting up the awning but explained this to the site owners who were fabulous and directed us to pitches where there was plenty of room to practice. They gave us loads of advice and how everything worked on the site. The site is lovely and level, has a brand new play area and very well manicured and cared for facilities.
We were only there for one night, would have loved to be there longer but it was only a practice run. Will certainly return.

This site is accessed off some long narrow lanes so take your time on approach.
Caravan Club site with hardstanding and grass pitches with facilities up to the usual club standards. Reception sells all the usual gear and papers are available if ordered. The layout of the pitches in confusing, and when arriving in the dark it is difficult to see whether you are on the site road or a pitch.
Having said that the side is level and well drained, grass pitches in use and in very good condition at the end of October. The site is however surrounded by a drainage ditch, and that stagnant water attracts the dreaded midges, so avoid pitches around the perimeter.
The site is also under the flight path of Bristol airport so a fair bit of noise pollution can be expected.
This part of Somerset is wall to wall caravans, and the site backs onto a large commercial site. Our pitch was close to the play area of the other site and we endured youths with foul mouths until late on. Nothing at all the CC can do about this but worth bearing in mind when choosing your pitch.
The resorts of Burnham and Weston are close by as are the inland attractions of Cheddar and Wells.

We were greeted by the friendliest warden I have ever met at any Caravan Club site. She was spot on! Even more so when she could not find my booking as I had booked the wrong dates, but she found a spot for us! We encountered no problems on the single track approach road, but drive with caution…. The brewery in Hurn Lane was open while we were there and I got 4 pints of real ale for £5.60 a bargain and it was a cracking pint! The beach is only 15 minutes walk through the sand dunes which is a nice walk then you reach a huge beach! The site itself houses really good facilities, and the wardens also sell a good selection of essentials. A chip van stops on a Saturday evening and I must say the wears were pretty good! I must stress though that this is not a totally peaceful site as itbacks onto Pontins which has some loud entertainment and a fun fair to keep its campers happy. Never the less, we did have a good stay, but i’m not sure the cheap beer swung it for me to return.

Went here expecting Caravan Club standards and got them first class. Showers and toilets clean and just what I expected. Except when we arrived we were told to go round and look for a pitch the weather was very wet and at the end of the first (one way strip) it turns to grass or should I say mud. Water and wheels spinning and no were to turn round. The area around the site was so nice lots to do even in the rain, Chedder was very good and you can even take the dog in.

Typical Caravan Club site with a mixture of Grass and Hard-standing pitches, 3 miles to Burnham so we walked it with the dogs. The lane is narrow but it's only a couple hundred yards if you come from the inland side, we came the other way in error. Very clean and smart site, will definitely put on the go again list.
