Awesome, would summarise this site for us. A great location, with all Cornwall's delights within a relatively short drive (Eden Project - just over an hour away!). A very relaxed atmosphere and extremely warm and welcoming staff.

The facilities are basic, but functional, with there always being a hot shower when you need one. The pitches aren't marked so you are not restricted to 'fitting between the markers' and the fields are located in a beautiful setting, with Redruth a very short drive for those essentials.

Our only criticisms are; there were no soap dispensers in the toilets (so we took our own), and can we have more hooks in the showers, and slightly larger curtains in the ladies.?

We will definitely be back next year as we loved the atmosphere and location, our criticisms did not in anyway detract from our visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Just back from weeks family camping holiday, to cornwall for the first time. Perfect quiet site, been put off camping in the past by larger, more 'equipped' campsites.

This took us back to camping as it was when we were kids. Basic, but functional and clean toilets and showers. Very friendly warden, who gives you as much time as you need to set up and pay your fees, he is often on site.

Left to pitch where you choose, which was perfect as we were camping with friends who were arriving later than us, so we were able to choose a suitable space for us both.

Close distance to local supermarkets and the beautiful Gwithian beach, great location for easy exploring Cornwall by car. A lovely camping holiday, we hope to return!

We have just come back from four great days at Magor Farm. You just turn up and pitch and Mr Williams will come and find you when he does his rounds

A great family site with plenty of room. The showers are basic but powerful with plenty of hot water. There is a powerpoint for hair driers etc, There is a wash up area for dishes and also a spin drier for your clothes.

Our daughter loved the freedom and made some great friends we felt confident in letting her go off on her own as we could see her at all times. There are some swings and a sea saw where most of the children meet up.

The site backs on to Tehidy woods which has lakes and trails suitable for walkers and bikes there is also a great little tea shop at the entrance to the woods they do a great cream tea.

There is no shop but there's one a five minute drive away.

We can't wait to go again and I'm sure we will keep returning several times a year.

Family stayed here for a week at the end of July, 2 adults and 4 children. The site was mainly flat and generally well maintained. It is signposted and easy to find.

Others have commented on the toilet/shower facilities but personally I did not find them too bad. Yes, they are in a concrete block but the showers were free and always hot and the toilets always clean. We never had to wait to use the toilets or showers.

There are some swings and see saw for the children to play on and this seemed to be where a lot of the children gathered in the evening. It did make that area quite loud but generally it quietened down by 10pm. There was not really any any road noise at night.

The owner was very friendly and happy to advise on places to visit. He is also quite relaxed about payment and will come and find you sometime during your stay.

There is a supermarket within a couple of miles and the beach is about the same distance.

The site is great for families but could be a bit too noisy for couples wanting peace and quiet.

Lovely 5 nights stay at Magor Farm. Large site which is more or less mostly level, with trees either side for shelter. About 5 pitches with EHU.

Nice base within good distance of St Ives and all the southern cornwall sights etc. 2 mile walk out the site towards coombe, over the bridge and then following the footpath by the side of the place selling cream teas (PS top banana by the way! homemade scones! yum) will take you to the sea cliffs.

We paid £11 p/n for 2 adults with EHU. Showers and loos are basic but good, warm and free. There's no temperature gage on showers and they're the push button type however they stayed on for long enough and were always warm enough.

We are dog lovers, however we were a bit perturbed by the fact our neighbours had 2 dogs which were free to roam as they please and could have been using anywhere as their toilet! Thought the owner should really have pulled them up on this, but some sites I suppose like to be more relaxed than others.

This is a good site and we would recommend

If you like traditional basic campsites with lots of space, then Magor Farm will suit you down to the ground! We'd pinpointed it on a map beforehand, but it's so well signed from each direction you'd struggle to miss it.

The facilities are basic but clean and quite adequate - there are two shower / toilet blocks although only one was open when we were there as in spite of it being a bank holiday weekend it wasn't that busy.

Showers are powerful, hot and free, although apparently the gents ones could do with a slightly better layout as my husband struggled to find somewhere to put his clothes and towel. The ladies ones are fine as there is a 'dry area' between the cubicle door and curtain. There is also a small washing up area with fantastic deep butler sinks and wooden draining boards.

There are pitches along one side with EHU - they recommend that you book if you want one of those but for non-EHU pitches there is so much space available I can't imagine it ever been a problem.

A small kids play area with old fashioned see-saw and swings seems to keep the little ones happy along with lots of space for riding their bikes, and the brook alongside the site provides fun with fishing nets.

Mr Williams comes and collects the money for the pitch - it's very laid back, if he doesn't see you on the first day he'll catch you the next. We paid £8 per night for a tent, car and 2 people - value like that is simply hard to beat!

All in all, we would return to Magor Farm like a shot - a really wonderful place to stay!

We love this site. We have three girls aged 8,9 and 4 and this is their favourite camp site. We pitch up and they run off and make friends and spend the whole week playing on the swings, seesaw and rope swings. We can always see them due to lay out of the camp site.
There is a shallow brook that runs through the site also. It is always full of like minded people who enjoy quiet camping and caravanning. We have to drag the kids off to the beach as they would stay on the site and play all the time.

The farmer is always friendly and we have always found the facilities clean and showers hot and plentiful.

It is well placed for beautiful beaches and where it is positioned you can easily avoid the A30 on the busier days and easily access popular spots within 10 minutes in the car.

We paid £16 for a night in high season which made for a very cheap week in cornwall. We highly recommend this to anyone with children who enjoy the outside life.

Fantastic find this site, stayed here bank holiday weekend, no way near full, not sure why id rather stay here then many other sites in cornwall.
We don't want masses of facilities so this fitted the bill 2 shower/loo blocks with plenty of hot water and that's pretty much it, you can freeze your ice packs at the farmhouse if needed.
Location is excellent couple mins from the A30 but completely rural next door to the country park. £10 a night peak season - excellent value, I would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn't want a touristy site and wants a proper style campsite.
Will definitely go again.

We stayed here, unfortunately, the weather was changeable and quite wet at times with some strong winds also. This campsite isn't equipped for this kind of weather, as ours and other peoples tents got bogged down and slightly flooded. It is in a valley.

The shower/toilet blocks are very basic. Not the cleanest, but usable. There is a lack of soap and way of drying your hands. Although the showers are quite warm.

The playground was basic, I think it could also be placed in a different location as it is right next to the site entrance, which was a worry.

The area is lovely, plenty of walking, close to a choice of beaches. Shops are a short drive. Wasn't aware of any local pubs / restaurants, but there is a cafe if you follow the path that runs along the campsite.

Pitches are as big as you need, plenty of people had huge 12 man tunnel tents and nobody was close to each other, at no extra cost.

Over all, I would stay here again. But do be aware of the weather.

We had a lovely two weeks at magor farm, it has a very relaxed atmosphere, facilities were cleaned night and morning, loos were lovely and clean as were the showers, although the showers in the main block could do with some shower curtains for us that wish to hide our modesty.
Farmer was very friendly and helpful, making frequent visits to the campsite. We were in the bottom field, lovely and quiet, with the gentle flowing of a stream nearby.Campsite in a great position quite close to coast with some lovely walks through tehidy country park. Would certainly visit again
