Just returned from a 7 night break, stayed in the BMW touring field. As stated in previous reviews the site is immaculate, well manicured gardens, clean showers and toilet block with soap, choice of 2 play areas and a swimming pool. This park is 5 star however I would not say that we received 5 star services, the pool changing area was dirty and I did not see it being cleaned the times we used the pool. The pool was lovely though.
The social club serves the needs of those who like this scene, we did not watch any of the entertainment but did use the quieter bar lounge which was pleasant.
The pitch was not great, although flat and hard standing the awning was on an area where water collected so it was water sodden the whole time and frankly the smell was awful. In fairness we did not complain as we didn't want to move after putting the awning up. No views at all but spacious pitches.
I would not return to this site as it doesn't suit our taste however I can see why others love it.

We visited this site for the first time with a group of 6 adults and 6 kids using 3 tents. Prices were reasonable at £23 per pitch per night, although major downside was that there is no electric hook-up option for tents.
Campsite, as has been mentioned by so many others, was kept immaculate and tidy.
Despite the time of year, the site was fairly quiet and we pretty much had the pick of pitches on the camping field. The field does slope in places, but we were able to pitch all 3 tents on a flat area whilst still having a 'communal' area in between for lounging around on the chairs.
Toilet blocks were kept incredibly clean and the free showers were both hot and powerful, with plenty of room in the cubicle for changing afterwards.
The on-site club was reasonably small compared to others we've visited, which did mean you can't always get seating unless you arrive early. Having said that, the adjoining bar was spacious enough for the adults to sit in relative peace whilst the little un's played between the club lounge and arcades etc.
There was also a kids club which we didn't actually use, but from what we saw it was well organised with plenty to keep the kids entertained.
At the back of the park is a small fishing lake which is free of charge for the park patrons. It contains carp, roach and eels. Although we'd heard that the largest carp is approx 20lbs, we only managed a couple of small fish, although one of the kids did catch a nice sized eel.
The swimming pool was clean, tidy and well heated, and at 50p per session, very good value.
The staff were both friendly and helpful, making the whole experience more enjoyable.
The site reception offers Ice Block re-freezing facilities in a secure freezer in the office for which there is no charge.
The only couple of downsides we found were the lack of electric for tents and that the dishwashing facilities were quite poor with only 2 sinks and not very well laid out.
The site also lacks it's own shop, but there is a local store approx 50m walk from the camp entrance which provided most of our requirements.
Overall, I would recommend this site to other campers and will definitely be returning sooner rather than later.

While most of the descriptions for this site are reasonably accurate, we did have a couple of adverse thoughts about it:
Unless you have children under the age of about nine, or are holidaying with a large group of family/friends, think twice about going here in busy periods. Our pitch was near the toilet block and most the the seven nights we spent there, small groups of people (usually teenagers but not always) would gather in the dish washing area and chat until the early hours, which didn't help getting off to sleep.
Our daughter joined us on the Thursday night with a tent and pitched near the centre of the larger tent field. There was lots of room in the field but, on returning on the Friday after a day out, we found lots more tents had arrived for the weekend and one group of three tents had pitched so less than one metre remained between their tents and our daughter's tent, despite ample room being available. Our complaint, therefore, is that there is no control over where a tent is pitched.
The group encroaching upon our daughter's tent was quite a large one and the shouting and laughter went on until about 2am. At this time another tenter called in the Management to quieten the group down - this was after she'd asked the group directly to be quiet without success.
If the Management pegged out tent pitches and kept an eye on clients adhering to their allocated area, it would be a big improvement.
The site is well maintained apart from some minor faults in the showers.
We were charged £25. 70/night incl. Electric, which we think is very expensive and we cannot smile at the £2/night extra if you want to put up an awning. Just not justified!

A really lovely site and the staff in June 2011 were fabulously friendly and helpful. As has been mentioned many times before, the site is beautifully manicured, clean and tidy. We stayed at the end of the May/June half term for a long weekend and whilst £76.50 wasn't bad value for the three of us for three nights, it isn't the cheapest of its genre either.
The site caters in the main for owners of static homes and a huge number of 'touring' caravans that appear to be permanently located here. There is no space to park cars along side caravans therefore cars are parked on the roads in front of each 'van which tends to make it look untidy in my opinion. Maybe the beautifully kept grass, borders and planted areas are designed to attract the eye away from this small matter?
Our 5yr old was excited at the prospect of meeting the web site hyped 'Merlin the Dragon' entertainer but apparently he is only in attendance occasionally and jnr was quite tearful to discover he wouldn't see him. We arrived Thu eve and Merlin wasn't due to 'fly in' until 1200 on Sunday which was 2hrs after the 1000 check out time.
Very good, push button showers in clean, well heated blocks.
Dish washing area is poor though with only two sinks. Fortunately it was quiet when we visited but I bet there must be considerable queues during high season. I found the dishwashing area to be grubby and plug holes clogged with food each time I used this facility.
There's a small pool of about an acre in size in which fishing is free to residents. The pool is stocked with some of the wiliest carp I've ever fished for but the fishing was fun and netting our single carp of the morning gave great satisfaction!
We took bicycles with us because this is our favourite mode of transport whilst away but having travelled to the site from New Quay realised that we would be leaving them on the site because whilst it is only 2 1/2 miles into New Quay and a fun filled, freewheel, 30+mph ride down would be a breeze, the long, long, looooooong slog back up the hill would be a killer with my 5 yr old on the tag-along behind me! Excellent bus service stops on demand and last bus from New Quay is 9.40pm. (1.80 adult single)
The BMW field is the site for MH's and touring caravans. Most pitches are level but about a third require levelling blocks for MH's. This was a peaceful spacious camping area and most enjoyable in the sunshine.
One minus from our point of view is that there is no MH waste water disposal point.
All in all, a good site which if it was closer to us we would happily visit again and I'd happily recommend to others.

We stayed in a Static here during the October half term holidays and it really is a lovely site.
Our accommodation was 1st class, we only paid for a standard unit but it was brand spanking new and lovely - I think we may have been upgraded because it was so empty at the time.
The park itself is beautiful, all flowers, trees and very well looked after. We used the pool which costs about 50p I think and they had to come and open it up for us each time as I think we were the only people on the site. The pool is boiling - bloody marvellous in October!
We didn't use the pub as off season there was no entertainment or anything and it opened quite late (7pm) Surely everyone knows wine o'clock is 5pm??
We are planning to head back to camp here as the tent pitches and toilet block looked great. Surrounding area is lovely.

We have toured for five seasons now, averaging 40 nights away each year at between 5 or 6 different sites.
There are two adults, two children and a mad Labrador in our party.
This site was, without doubt, one of the best sites that we have ever stayed at. Sure, there were a few niggles (see below) but we tired of our holiday (17 nights) before we tired of the site.
This has to be one of the best kept sites in the UK? I defy anyone not to be taken aback by the floral display and well manicured grass areas bordering the access drive from the main road to the reception. Upon arrival, after an 8 1/2hr drive, we were met by a very helpful (and sympathetic) member of staff who did as much as they could to make us feel welcome, locate our pitch for us and let us know what was going on in and around the site.
Our pitch was pretty level, just needing two 1' boards to raise one side of the 'van. We had elected an electric hardstanding pitch. Due to our request for a pitch with easier access (due to length of 'van and poor turning circle of tow vehicle) we were given a pitch that was sublimely simple to reverse onto. In truth, most if not all of the pitches were thus easy. The downside to our request was that we were partially shaded throughout the day from around midday onwards. Not in itself a problem, but enviable when you see the rest of the field swathed in bright sunshine and you're reaching for the sweat-shirt! But that's not meant as a criticism of the site. The hard-standings could probably do with being overhauled in the not too distant future. Although totally suitable, some of the concrete edgings that border the gravel/type 1 standing are crumbling but more telling, are their widths. If you have a 7ft wide 'van you will have no problem positioning it perfectly on its standing. At 7'3' wide you may end up shunting to and fro to make it fit and with a 7'6' body, you simply have to put one (set of) wheel(s) on the standing and the other on the grass. The standings just aren't wide enough.
It is a large site area wise but at no time during our stay was our touring field fully occupied. In fact, what surprised us was the sheer volume of tourers arriving and leaving. Lots of people seemed to stay for four or five days or for weekend breaks and then left. We had not noticed such a high volume of through traffic on any previous site.
There are dog walks a'plenty. Small but well maintained children's play area, a launderette and swimming pool which at 50p per session was very good value. The pool and changing facilities were spotlessly clean, as were the on-site toilets and shower block.
The two bars were reasonably priced and had a good selection of beers, wines, spirits and soft drinks inc tea and coffee. The on-site 'chippie' was very good value and served some excellent fare.
The entertainment over the 17 nights was excellent. Only one act on one night did not enthuse us; otherwise it was 5*'s for the cabaret. One comment though: Louder does not necessarily mean better! If the compere turned down the volume by a notch or two it would have been more appropriate. For such a large site, the entertainments hall was remarkably small. We found on some evenings that there were literally a handful of guests present yet on other nights, standing room only and no hope of a seat. If you want to guarantee a seat, get to the hall before/during the Bingo and hang on to it.
All staff were extremely friendly, chatty and helpful; from reception to door staff, groundsmen and maintenance staff and children's club hosts and entertainment staff.
The one, ever so slight draw back is that there is no on-site shop. There are two stores in the village. Turn left out of the site and walk about 200 yards. But often on-site shops stay open slightly later and stock more camper-friendly items. There is a petrol station with a mini supermarket attached about 6 miles away which stays open much later if you really are that desperate for provisions.
It is one of only a handful of sites that we would countenance returning to (after all, why buy a tourer if you habitually return to the same site?) and were it not for the long journey, would return more frequently.

This is a very large site located around two miles from the coastal village of New Quay. The site is a mixture of static units, tourers and tents. There is a large club house which holds regular entertainment including live acts and bingo etc.
There is a small amusement arcade located within the club house and an indoor pool next door which you pay a fee of 50 pence to use. There is small play area in front of the club but I found this to be poorly equipped and although the floor was covered in bark the play items IE swings roundabout and seesaw were old and very limited for the size of the site.
The pool area was limited and very busy when we went to use it so we ended up not bothering. The patrons using the pool were allowed to take in inflatables which made the area very crowded.
The general grounds within the site area were very well maintained as were the toilet and shower facilities. We had some wet weather and although the toilets did suffer as a result the staff worked well and regularly to keep the areas clean. The showers were hot and well maintained. We stayed in the field labelled the BMW area and this in my opinion was the best field with spacious plots. The other area for tourers appeared to be set up for seasonal tourers and was very cramped. There are no views to speak of on this site.
There is no shop on site but there two small shops aout a five minute walk away and there are also some nice pubs in the local village. New Quay itself is a pretty little village and we enjoyed the crabbing and dolphin watching (Got lucky with a dolphin in the port to watch). I found the reception staff helpful and friendly and they were knowledgeable about the area.
If you enjoy a site based around the club and its entertainment and Booze culture you would enjoy this site.

Went to Pencnwc again in August, been there 4 times already. Great camp site, facilities great, toilets and showers very clean. The only thing is there's no electric in tents, if they allow it they would probably have a lot more people up there

They had a special offer of 2 nights for the price of one so we had a cheap weekend. This is the first time we've camped at this site (we are relatively new to camping).
What a beautiful park! The site is kept immaculately clean and tidy. The camping fields had been freshly cut on arrival. There are 2 fields, the first one has a slight incline on part of it so we settled on the second field, again a slight incline but there were plenty of pitches to choose from so out tent went up perfectly. I don't think you would notice if you did pitch on the incline though, it's not that sloped.
It was very quiet on the field, I think there about another 5 tents altogether. The shower block / toilets were very clean and were cleaned twice a day. They were a little bit grassy at times but that is understandable. Toilet roll always well stocked. Showers were free, spacious and again very clean, they were nicely set out as well, you could shower and get dried and dressed in the same shower cubicle, very nice touch!
The club house and arcade were very nice, 5 star! There were 2, maybe more, play areas on the site which the children loved, gave us a couple of hours peace as well! We didn't use the swimming pool but could see it through the doors, it looked very clean and well kept.
The only 2 gripes I have were the bins were only emptied once while we were there and there are no EHU's for tents, they are kept for the touring vans / campers.
I would recommend Pencnwc to anyone. We shall be returning and very soon!

Just returned from a weekend at pencnwc. Only 3 tents so plenty of room, slight slopes in some areas which could be a problem if busy. 2 parks for the kids and football for the older 'kids'.
On site take away was excellent (I recommend the Chinese style curry 1/2 and 1/2). Indoor swimming pool was great, you pay 50p for as long as you want.
Toilet block was the cleanest I've ever seen on a campsite with plenty of hot water and room in the showers. Overall highly recommended.
