We organised a late booking at Pencnwc and found the admin staff to be very easy and efficient to deal with.
On arrival staff were helpful with information on the area and facilities.
The site is pretty big but was well maintained throughout and did not feel overrun. As stated elsewhere the seasonal touring pitches looked very cramped, but there was ample room for tents, though this was quite slopey in places.
There was lots of room for a range of activities, football, playparks etc. The fishing lake was great, not busy and appeared well stocked.
Swimming pool was nice and clean and warm.
Entertainment and clubhouse overall was spot on but was quite heavily focused on slot machines.
Toilet blocks etc seemed fine.
Pencnwc as a whole appeared a well run site which is ideally located as a base for New Quay and Cardigan bay.

I have Just arrived back home from my holiday in Wales and felt that I must review the caravan/campsite because there aren't many reviews on Pencnwc holiday park.
We (My husband, and our 3 daughters) decided to go on holiday in July this year, and at first struggled to find anywhere vacant and to suit our budget. Anyway after scouring through the caravan parks I came across Pencnwc nr New Quay in Wales. The price was right and the park looked beautiful and clean on the website. I spoke to a very friendly girl called Gemma who helped me book the holiday. She was very helpful she even took time over finding me a caravan in a good position to suit our needs. After booking the holiday I received confirmation of my holiday, in a well presented pack to which I was excited! On arrival There were flowers everywhere in full bloom, the site was really well kept. Reception was clean friendly and welcoming. When we arrived in the caravan (A26)we were thrilled! I think it must of been new this year, it was gorgeous, modern and update immaculately clean and the shower was top class! So was the cooker! we had a patio outside with table and chairs too.
There is also a club on site with entertainment although we didn't go out every night we saw some good acts, especially a 3 piece band named Vivo. There is a swimming pool (indoor) Launderette (really reasonable)Amusements and small play area with wood chips for safety. There wasn't a shop on site but there was a well stocked shop in the village a short walk away.
I would recommend this site to anyone!
Immaculately clean Well organised and run Entertainment girls were great! Very welcoming and relaxed!

We have just returned from a weekend at this site. We really enjoyed our stay here and despite it being a very large park [predominantly static caravans], it is well tended to.
The first touring caravan field seems to be reserved for those people requiring seasonal pitches - and they are crammed in like sardines with barely any room for an awning. The field we stayed in - called the 'BMW' field, is much more spacious - though the hardstanding pitches are a tight squeeze as much of the hardstanding gravel has compacted below the level of the grass, so you need to be spot on with your siting otherwise it will take you forever to level it off.
There are a couple of large fields for ball games - though tents will also occupy this area around the perimeter, there will still be more than ample space to play.
The fishing lake is lovely and had we discovered it earlier, we would have taken a deck chair and relaxed on it's banks for a couple of hours.
For such a huge site it was surprisingly quiet - though we were a long way from the club house.
Can't comment on the entertainment as we didn't go - but others seemed to enjoy it and rate it highly. I did hear someone mention that the tickets for bingo were £7 which was the main reason for us not going [as we are a family of 5].
Shower / toilet facilities were cleaned regularly and we had no problems with the water pressure.
We did visit the pool once which was lovely and warm BUT they are sorely lacking in changing / shower facilities for the pool. There is just a small room about the size of a sauna in which to change - the lockers are all broken, so no-where to leave your possessions safely or anywhere private to change.
Great location for Newquay (which is lovely) - kids loved going crabbing off the harbour walls and the beach was lovely.

Visited this campsite for the first time over the Easter 2009 period. The campsite is overall excellent. The only complaint really is that the children's play area is to far from some of the camping fields. It could do with a couple of smaller playing equipment in the different fields.
There is no shop on site but there is a few shops just a couple of minutes walk from the site. The first shop is quite expensive. There is also a pub which serves food day and it is ok. There is a fast food takeaway on site and it is excellent. The service is a bit slow but it is worth it. The showers/toilets are very clean and are checked regularly. The children's club is very good but the entertainment could be longer for the children in the evening, perhaps starting earlier. The bingo is quite expensive but hey you are on holiday. We will be visiting again.

What a find !
We found Pencnwc on website in early August and went for three days - after 2 hours we had decided to go back for a week . It is a friendly, clean, site with everything you need with one exception - there is no longer a shop on site.
Entertainment team are brill - but could do with putting times on the what's on brochure as we missed bingo the first night. Bingo money is excellent though. Chip shop also good - plenty of good food at reasonable prices.
New quay is fab with lots to see - boat trips are a must. Ice cream shop mentioned in previous review is wonderful. And if you want a really nice meal the watchtower is excellent. We shall return.

The site has a number of fields for Caravans and tents and all with excellent toilet and shower facilities . The pitches are well laid out (caravans) and well served with water and waste points . One let down I found was the water pressure was low which meant a lot of hanging around to fill the containers (not helpful with the weather this year) other than that we all enjoyed our holiday there very much. The site was very well run , all the staff were helpful and the entertainment was first class (the entertainment team worked really hard to make it a enjoyable time and they were successful). The site does not have a shop but there are shops within walking distance of the site, there is also a pub nearby that serve excellent meals at reasonable prices. The grandchildren made use of the play area which was well sighted for supervision if limited in equipment, the swimming pool was very well supervised although a fee of 50p was required to use it but it kept the numbers at the pool at any one time at a reasonable level. This is a very well maintained site, very clean with plenty of staff to keep it that way The only down side really was the weather but with so many places to visit we all enjoyed our stay. We will be going back there .

It was my first camping experience & thankfully it was very positive! The toilet & shower block was cleaned regularly & had hot water. We went into new quay & went on the boat trip advertised & really enjoyed it,we also found a fab ice cream shop that had many different varieties including white choc, smartie, jelly baby & loads more (would recommend a visit)we also took a drive out to cardigan & had a fab Indian on a boat called the Royal Indian!we also drove out to many other attractions. The staff are all very friendly & helpful, club house was good,it had entertainment every evening & a separate snug if you just want a quiet drink. The indoor pool was heated, clean & cheap, excellent to entertain the kids for a few hours.Park itself is very well maintained & friendly.Would definitely go back again.

Went to this site the first time we went camping. Very nice site, was allowed to pitch where we wanted. When we arrived everybody was pitching round the outside and we followed suit. The kids had a great time playing ball games in the middle, that was until 3 families staying together pitched up in the middle of the field putting a dampener on things. Free hot showers, toilets very clean. They would freeze your ice packs at reception. Shop on site which was reasonable. New Quay a 10 minute drive away with a lovely beach and plenty of shops. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed on this site for three nights and should have been more. Its by far the best one we have ever used. We pitched up on the BMW field, dont ask me why its called that. We had a hardstanding which to be honest could have been a little wider, but hey. The whole site is immaculate, the rubbish bins for example were emptied three times a day. The club house is great with entertainment laid on most nights, also the food in the take-away is lovely, really great chips and big portions too.
Newquay is 2 miles away, it has lots of little shops and 1/2 good eateries, Try the Wellington Inn, Richard and Diane, the owners are great and they serve terrific food, AMAZING sweet trolley.
We will be going again this year, hopefully for a bit longer, Try it, you wont be sorry.
