We stayed here for the second year running and are planning to return next year.

The campsite was as good as we remembered; clean and tidy with helpful but not interfering staff. There is plenty of room for kids to play football, fly kites or for dogs to be walked with one field designated for this. An evening game of rounders was often put on for parents and children.

Toilet and shower facilities are very good. For campers there are two WCs (mixed-sex) and a wash-up area at the bottom of the one field. A kids' games barn with table-tennis and table football is next to this so the kids can be entertained as you are washing up! Further along there are single gender toilets and showers along with a small shop and launderette.

We had 2 kids with us, 7 & 2. Last year we travelled towards Salcombe for sandy beaches as the local beaches were pebbly. This year, walking on our peninsular we found a fantastic collection of Sandy coves within a few miles. We needed to drive as the roads were busy and there was often a short walk to the beach at the end of the drive.

The coastal walks were beautiful. Both children enjoyed them and when we had to dip onto the roads (single track, no pavements) they were quiet enough and drivers were considerate enough that we were able to let the kids walk freely. It was a great place to teach the 2 year old some road sense!

The on site shop stocked the basics; there are village shops and a large general store within driving distance. A local farm shop can be walked to but can be a bit pricey. The butchers in Torcross looks closed but sells some great meat.

There is no pub or club on site as it is very family orientated and this means that the site is very quiet after 10pm. It is possible to walk to local pubs, but not with a 2 year old!

This was our first visit to Devon, and it started well even before we arrived as Gwen was very friendly and helpful when booking. We stayed on this site for 10 nights and wish it could have been longer.

The pitch sizes are very generous, extra cable available for electric hook up if needed. Toilets and shower block very clean and hot water always available.

On site shop useful, open twice a day during peak season basics available as well as table tennis bats for the games room!

Access to the laundry room is 24 hours, very useful if you have a poorly child in the middle of the night!

Gwen and Matthew(and their family) who own the site couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, they gave us information on walks, places to visit and even held a game of camp rounders that was enjoyed by both children and parents.

We enjoyed days out in Salcombe, walks along the coast and the beach at Bantham was brilliant for surfing/body boarding and sand castles.

We did have some amazing weather and the stars at night were spectacular, however the atmosphere on the site was so friendly, it wouldn't have mattered if it was pouring down with rain.

We hope to return to this wonderful site again and almost don't want to recommend it as we feel weve found a very special place.

My husband I booked for 13 nights in July/August and ended up staying a further night as we didn't want to leave.

The campsite was well located and easy to find using the brown road signs. We parked up and went to Reception and we were shown to our pitch we were asked to pitch a little to the side to give the grass a chance to pick up.

We were the only campers in our area so had first pick of the picnic bench which was a real bonus. We used it for all our meals and just to sit and enjoy the most beautiful views, if we looked really hard we could see the sea.

The facilities weren’t too far from our pitch the pot wash was always clean with plenty of hot water, We used the Ice pack freezer to refreeze our blocks and even kept a bag of ice in it, the owner asks for a donation to the RNLI for using the freezer which seems more than reasonable.

We used the washing machine once it cost £2 for a large load we didn’t use the tumble dryer as the weather was nice enough to dry our clothes outside.

The shower blocks and toilets we kept clean all the time and we never had to queue to use either a sink or a shower the site was full whilst we were there and this never impacted on the facilities.

The site shop is open for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening; it was well stocked with essentials and was not over priced.

We both took our bikes with us and enjoyed exploring the local area on them and stumbling on little villages. The Devon hills were steep, but with every up hill there was a down hill not too far away.

We found the location ideal for accessing Beesands beach we visited most days, a beautiful quiet beach with toilets and a pub nearby.

A great find for us during our stay was Frogmore bakery we visited early in the morning and collected a freshly baked pasty and cake for our lunch during the day, they are the most delicious pasties and most times they we fresh out of the oven.

We walked a couple of times to the pubs in Stokenham following the bridleway it was a steep hill on the way back after a nice evening meal, we took torches with us too.

This site has a nice relaxed atmosphere and we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

We visited this small wonderful site last week. Our first visit to this site but not the area. Gwen is warm friendly and very welcoming. We both like walking and Gwen was able to advise us on good walks within the area.

The site is small, the facilities are very clean, we never had to queue to use the showers, the water is hot and free. Ladies there are plugs for hairdryers which are free to use. There is a fridge for ice blocks and if needed Gwen provide spare ones.

For children there is a play area, and an area to walk your dog. There is a shop on site that opens during July / Aug, that stocks essentials.

There are plenty of good pubs to eat in within easy driving. The village itself is about a mile away and has 2 good pubs. I heartily recommend this site, and will definitely go back

Our second visit and we enjoyed ourselves again. We have three small children 7, 5 and 3 and all they want to do is run around and play some kind of ball game.

Unfortunately there is no where for them to play near the caravans as ball games are not allowed. The only place they are allowed to play are all the way up at the top fields, where you can't keep an eye on them. So we spent a lot of time telling the children not to play around the caravans.

This is definitely not to say that the site is not child friendly and we can appreciate other caravanners concerns but it does make it a little difficult.

This was our only problem but it will not stop us returning next year, but without our balls and bikes! The surrounding area is always good and being creatures of habit we rarely strayed from Mill Bay beach, even on the overcast days.

The best pub we found was the Globe at Frogmore, reasonable prices and fab pizzas, they started early, we got there for 5.45pm

Very nice site well set out. We had a level pitch with hook up, but looking further along the fields ther did appear to be a more than gentle slope for other campers. We had no electricity when we arrived and that took until Sunday morning to sort out, rain had got into the socket and tripped it out.

There is plenty of hot water, although the toilets for the camping field did appear to be rather tatty and not very clean. These were unisex and I would have preferred the partitions to be higher to discourage anyone from standing on the toilet to peer into the next cubicle. The showers were better appointed but condensation did have a tendency to drip down from the ceiling when you were on the toilet when people were in the shower.

As mentioned in an earlier review walking your dog was a pain with there not being a large area for exercising on site and it being unsafe to walk down the busy single track roads outside the site.

One real gripe was that after transporting our 10yrs old bike 300+ miles, on Tuesday a sign went up informing everyone that cycling was not allowed on the site. Even though there is a picture of 2 cyclists on the home page of their website!

The playground was adequate, the shop was suitably stocked and the surrounds were well maintained and it is in a fantastic location.

This is a lovely, small campsite - very friendly with owners Gwen and Matt often around to give advice on walks/places to go.

We went with 2 young children and a dog - there is a field for exercising dogs, but we were a bit disappointed that it wasn't contained (our puppy ran out into the camping field) and it wasn't big enough to use solely as an exercising area.

We also found that we couldn't walk the dog from the campsite without going on the very small, rural roads to get some off-lead running. We had to take the dog in the car to go somewhere specific to let her run off lead. That was probably the only downside to the entire stay though, our fault for not looking into it further!

As to the campsite itself, it was a perfect size to be lovely and safe for our children. They made some great friends and had lots of space to run around in. There was also a little play area in amongst the caravans which the children loved.

The toilets and showers were always clean and hot, and there was a bucket and mop for after you had showered - a great idea!

The best thing about this site was the friendliness of Gwen and Matt, and the other campers - a lovely stay.

We spent a great two weeks at Old Cotmore Farm the pitch was flat and shaded with great views across the valley. Gwen and Matthew the owners made us very welcome.

I am struggling to find any fault with the site, plenty of free hot water, the facilities were spotless and BBQ's were provided for use. It is a small peaceful site with a good friendly atmosphere a great place to relax.

Lots of good clean beaches within easy reach and the towns of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe are delightful. One of the best holidays we've had, so much so that have booked again for next year and cant wait to return.

Arrived at the campsite for our first camping trip. The site is a beautiful rural position with lovely views over Devon hills. The campsite owners - Gwen and Matt - greeted us and were very friendly and helpful.

The site is spotless with plenty of room around the pitches. The showers and loos were again kept very clean and were never full. Piping hot showers at all times (except when being cleaned).

The shop has all the essentials that you could need and some toys and other useful items. I was pleasantly surprised to find the prices very reasonable as I was expecting inflated prices - being the only shop for a mile or so!

The laundry area is large and clean with tourist info and a small lending library - with a honesty box fee - all for charity.

The top field has a bench where you can sit to enjoy sea views and utter tranquillity. The playground was great and our kids made loads of friends at once.

I cannot praise this site enough - we loved everything about. If you are looking for a small, friendly, clean site in beautiful surroundings then this is the place for you!

We will most certainly be returning.

If you are looking for a very well run smaller style campsite, this is for you!

We went with a campervan and an awning and there was plenty of space with electric hookup provided.

Gwen and Matthew were very welcoming and helpful and always on hand if you needed them.

It was lovely and quiet at night, so much so that we could hear the waves crashing on the beach over a mile away, lovely.

We went for some superb walks along the coast path which is very accessible by car in pretty much any direction!

The thing we liked about the area and beaches was that its not over developed at all with a good pub and cafe but not much else.

We would certainly come back again as the site is so well placed for this corner of Devon.
