Cannot recommend this site highly enough. Family run business any problems day or night always someone on hand to help. No problem to big or small. Brought 3 people with me who have varying disabilities and I was helped no end. Site was clean and tidy. Shower and toilet blocks were immaculate (no mess left anywhere). Will most definitely be back again and again. 10 out of 10

We stayed here as a family for 3 nights this summer. This is a small field with a clean toilet block a small play area for children and a small on sight shop. The owners here are very stern and strict. At 11 oclock on a Saturday night I was sat outside my van having a whispered conversation with my hubby when the owner came over and asked me 'don't you think its time to go to bed now its very late its past 11 oclock' I was astounded that he thought he could talk to me like I was one of his children. He proceeded to patrol the site till he had told everyone to go to bed. He did this for the whole of our stay. Telling people off for having bbqs too late (half 9) You cannot have any music on you will be told to turn it off. We came for a short break to have fun and found it totally uncomfortable.
Porthcawl is a beautiful place to go, excellent beaches and lots to do. Lastly this site is very expensive, they charge for your caravan per night, then they charge for how many people are in the caravan per night, and then they charge for your car per night.

Stayed here for two nights at the very end of their season. Decent site within 25 mins walking from porthcawl. Toilets and showers a bit tired and need updating but fairly clean although I know the loos and floors were not cleaned during our stay. What is it about loo cleaning on sites in this area.
My main problem now is that it is now almost 11 pm and I would like to go to bed but I am going to have to go outside and ask the caravan behind us to keep the noise down!
The couple arrived earlier this evening and have been sitting outside all evening - not a problem when we are sitting watching tv but now it's late and they are really intrusive!
Why oh why don't people have some courtesy on sites?

Just spent 4 days at this site. Lovely site, owners really friendly and helpful. Good enclosed children's play area suitable for younger children, but not really anywhere for older kids like mine to kick a ball without it hitting other caravans/tents. Shop very well stocked and reasonably priced, especially the icecreams! Toilets and showers fine, and lots of water taps/wastebin areas around. Washup room is fine too, with separate sink for hand-washing laundry if req'd. Site about 3 mins drive from beach. Rest Bay is FAB for bodyboarding/surfing - constantly manned with lifeguards, there are several surfing schools on this beach, and parking is £2. 80 for all day until 9pm. Town has nice little selection of all shops you could need, but Bridgend has bigger names, larger supermarkets, and the Designer Outlet Village (j. 36 off m/way) is great, and shops there open til 8pm - lots of good restaurants in their food hall.

Lovely site. Toilets/showers may look run down from the outside but are clean and reasonably modern on the inside. Plenty of very hot water and a very good and powerful, free hairdryer. There is a well stocked on site shop. There are three pubs about half a mile away. The Rose and Crown is not dog-friendly, The Swan does not provide evening meals during the week and The Farmers Arms is dog friendly and provides excellent (very large), reasonably priced meals.
My only criticism is the lack of hard-standings on the site.
Don't worry too much about the arched bridge on the road before you get to the site. It may say max. height of 9' 6' but it is much higher than that. Maybe if you were in a tall, wide box shaped vehicle there may be a problem because of the arch. Our 9' 10' motor home got under the bridge very easily.

Had a very nice 2 night stay at this site, were down for cricket at Cardiff but site we normally use was full, so had to look further afield, could not have done better. We were met by Mike and Dianne on arrival and made very welcome. Not too many on site 1st night so able to pitch up near to shower and toilet block, both of which are spotless and water pressure was good.
Will certainly stay there again if in the area.

Just returned from a 5 day break at Brodawel.
We paid £17 for a family of 4 per night.
We found the owners to be very friendly and helpful. There is a good atmosphere on site and people were friendly.
We were shown all the facilities and shown to our pitch.
The facilities were very clean although a bit dated. There was plenty of free hot water and there were no queues for the showers. Liked the recycling areas.
The girls enjoyed the play area, especially the sand pit and tower. This was enclosed.
We didn't use the shop except for ice cream and doing our freezer packs (free - thanks) but it did look well stocked.
There is an information desk at the back of the shop which was useful and the owners gave us directions to the beaches. Pink beach highly recommended as quieter than rest bay and great with the girls.
We also walked to the village and had a very good meal in the Farmers pub.
All in all we had great time and have already recommended this site to friends. Intend to return for a weekend in September

After reading some of the reviews we were a bit dubious but decided to go anyway at the last minute. We're glad we did.
The site itself was very clean and well kept. The toilets, although a little dated, were clean and water very hot. Plenty of showers (which were free to use), 1 in each of ladies/mens toilet block and then about 6 in another block.
We didn't use the shop but it looked as if it was adequately stocked for necessities.
The village was a pleasant 10 minute walk away where there were 3 pubs. We had a fantastic meal in the 'Rose and Crown' which served food until about 9. 30.
The play area at the site looked quite good where plenty of children seemed to be enjoying themselves (I think the people moaning obviously expect something similar to Alton Towers!)
The owners/wardens were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely go back.

We stayed 2 nights here in rainy June ! ( only due to our 'local' site being fully booked)
We were in a folding camper, and my sister and co in a tent.
Nice, friendly owners but we were disappointed with the site ( especially for the price!)
The playground is unsafe, with old equipment plus an empty sandpit ?! ( few bags of play sand and a few buckets and spades can't cost much. )
The tv / games room was shut due to a leak.
The shop is fairly well stocked but opens at weird times. 9. 20am on a sunday. Also very expensive £1. 50 for a white sliced loaf!
The toilet / showers although clean were drab and need updating. Shower cubicles really small and no room to get dressed really
The site is mainly used for seasonal caravanners, one of which caused such a drunken scene on the Saturday, that the police were called!
To sum up, nice owners who need to invest a little TLC & cash in the site

Flat site with a lovely village about a 10 min walk away, the shop on site has all the basics.
Thai is not a site we would come back to as we found it very dirty! (the toilets needed a good clean they had bugs and cob webs everywhere) they did get cleaned everyday but the cleaning that was done left a lot to be desired.
The dish washing area was just awful very dirty (dead bugs on the window sills that you could tell had not been cleaned for a very long time) and you were sticking to the floor.
I found the site owners would only say hello if they felt like it other times they would just look the other way.
The site was very noisy till about 1:30 am with people shouting and singing, the owners live on site but not once did they come and ask people to keep the noise down.
This site is expensive for what it is we paid £21 a night for 2 people tent and ehu, I have been to better sites in the same area for less money.
