Only stayed here one night, but overall generally pleased. Things to point out. You won't get a mobile signal. At all. Wifi is 'available' at rates from £3. 99 ph. Neither will you get a TV signal (unless you have satellite). The electric hook ups are shared ones, they have tv points built in but unless you bring a cable. You'll have to buy one from the shop. Not tried this so cannot comment if they are long enough to reach. The pitches are all on slate chippings, so getting tent pegs on for your awning is very difficult. On the plus side the pitch sizes are generous. Water is available from the Electric hook up points. The toilet block is at the bottom of the tourer site. The shop is well stocked and run by friendly staff. The site is protected by a coded entry barrier. Please note that the roads in and out can be steep and gaining access to the main road can be dicey at traffic tends to be fairly fast. If taking dogs there isn't any fenced off area, although they can run free in the lake.

We stayed here for the first time in June on a really hot weekend and it felt more like we were in Lake Garda than Lake Windermere! What an amazing site! Totally immaculate all round. Pitches were spacious, toilet and shower blocks operate using a key to get in which you can have for a refundable £10 on arrival. We didn't use the showers but everything looked very clean and functional. The shop is very well stocked and like somebody else has mentioned, the bread rolls are amazing! The welcome was really warm and friendly and the staff couldn't do enough to help. We had a noisy party next to us on the first night (didn't retire to their beds until gone midnight!) so we asked if we could move for the Saturday night and they gave us an empty static pitch overlooking the lake which was amazing! The kids' play area was immaculate and had lots of equipment to suit all ages. Our age 7 and 8 boys loved it. The site has direct access to the lake so is brilliant if you have a dingy or canoe etc, in fact we're going to get one for our next visit! We will definitely go back!
We didn't go out to eat as we ate in our motorhome, but we couldn't see a pub on the doorstep so you'd probably want to drive out somewhere. We did stop at Fellfoot Park on our way home which was lovely (even thought the motorhome was a tight squeeze in the car park!) There was a brilliant adventure playground, lovely café and loads of lakeside to swim from, boat from or just sit back and relax, like we did!

Well what can I say about this site?? PERFECTION! From the moment we arrived the staff where so helpful and welcoming it made the beginning of the holiday great. We were shown to pitch which was massive, own tap, aerial, and electric plug socket. We were told we can situate our caravan any which way we wanted instead of the regimental way most sites have the set up caravan awning and car! We had voles behind our van and a mixture of birds and a frog! Marvellous! The site itself is gorgeous. It was full but amazingly still quiet. Although we have no children ourselves we would take them there to this site. The toilets immaculate, the dish washing area fabulous and the shop sold everything basic things wise and it sold WINE and BEER! BONUS! Nearest shop 4 miles. The dogs loved the lake which is the only area dogs can be let off which was good. A totally wonderful place and site. We have actually booked to go back there in three weeks time and we cant wait!

Stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend all pitches are hardstanding and serviced with water and tv point good toilets and showers with key entry £10 deposit.
Reception staff very friendly on arrival
Site is on a hillside in woodlands that leads directly to the lake fantastic for kayaking etc, , good dog walks around the park.
New looking and well equipped park for the kids not too far from the touring pitches
It's a well maintained site set over a large area with a lot of statics easy to find and has a barrier coded exit and entry system.
I got No mobile or wifi signal on site and only part signal off site
Price is a bit steep but you get what you pay for and it's the complete package here with the location.
Would recommend this site

Stayed for 3 nights over Easter. A £10 deposit was needed for each bathroom key, that was fine, very helpful staff in the shop. Showers were good and hot and included in price. Play area was great as was little streams and woodland walks. Lots of space for tourers and awning on hard standing pitches. £36 a night is steep, not sure if we'll be back but the location is fabulous.

We stayed for one night here in our campervan. The man in the shop was very helpful. The shop was open until 8pm and seemed to stock most of the basics you would need although we didn't purchase anything from it.
The toilet and shower facilities were really clean with several toilets and four showers in each block. There was also a laundry room. We had to pay a £10 deposit for our shower block key which was returned to us when we returned the key on departure. The showers and hairdryer use were included in the pitch price (£18 for an electric hook up)
We stayed on a pitch very close to the showers which was ideal but there were 4 pitches which looked great overlooking the lake but which had an uphill walk to the facilities. Outdoor pot wash- we were thankful we had our own facilities in the van as we woke up to snow! There was also a children's play area which looked well maintained and suitable for older children too.
All in all very enjoyable stay and we will no doubt visit again. We may try out a lakeside pitch next time if we don't mind the climb to the toilets!

Just been to this site for four nights and was NOT that impressed.
Stayed on one of the lakeside pitches, (No3), The description on the site website does not state that there is nowhere to empty the caravan toilet or waste water near these pitches, (this can only be done at the toilet block about 400 yards away up a very steep hill).
The lighting did not work around these pitches so as soon as it got dark it was pitch dark and a torch was needed to walk to the toilet block. Could not get any phone signal, (Tesco and O2)at all on our pitch but my biggest bug bear was that I could not get any TV signal either.
I had been given a welcome card on my arrival which stated that to get a signal I had to tune my TV onto ANALOGUE and I would get 14 channels.
I tried this but still got nothing so in the evening I went to reception and they stated that analogue no longer worked and only digital was available and that I needed to purchase a cable from them, (cost £6. 50) to be able to get a signal.
I purchased this cable and plugged it in to find that after retuning my TV yet again that I still could not get a good enough signal to be able to watch the TV but I could listen to the radio through my TV if I wanted to listen to radio 2!
The TV issue was only rectified on the Friday evening when we were leaving on the Saturday.
I was also told that there was no need to walk up the hill to the toilet block to use the toilet as there was a toilet in a small cabin near the four lakeside pitches that I could use, however when I went to find it I found that the cabin was locked, the door handle removed and a note was placed on the door stating ' frozen, do not use'.
Also the main toilet block needed a key to get in and only one key is provided, (£10 deposit), when as part of a couple two keys would have been desirable.
The nightly rate I paid was ok for the time of year but the facilities would not be good enough if I had paid the high season rate although the site location right next to the lake is excellent and the wardens were friendly enough.
I will not be going back again and if I decide to go to the lake district again I will look for a different site.

Super location, on the edge of lake Windermere.
Stayed for 2 nights in one of the 4 lakeside pitches which are quite a walk from the main facilities up a steep hill - although there is a loo close by.
The main touring pitches (they look really good sized pitches) are away from the lake and next to the facilities.
The toilet facilities were the best I have come across to date - even the hair dryer was free.
The on site shop was very well stocked and all the staff were very helpful. I cannot wait to come back here again.

This was a stunning location, on the edge of lake Windermere. The main touring pitches are away from the lake and are in amongst the trees so it was very shaded (which my husband disliked as he is a sun lover!).
The toilet facilities were amazing and the best I have ever seen. We used the family room, which made it so much easier with a young family. The laundry facilities were good and very reasonably priced.
The was a small play park which kept our toddler entertained for ages.
The views of the lake were fantastic and there were lots of opportunities to launch boats and kayaks.
The on site shop was very well stocked and all the staff were very helpful. I would definitely go back to this site.

Stunning pitch on the shore of Windermere. The whole site is spotless and the toilet facilities are the best you will probably find.
Each pitch has electric water and a tv aerial point which is needed as you will get no tv or phone signal there. If you would struggle carrying your water of waste 400 yards up a steep (ish) hill then do not elect to use the lakeside pitches 1 to 4 as the other touring pitches are adjacent to the facilities.
Their website is very accurate so I will not expand but get your bread rolls from reception as the are the freshest softest rolls I have had.
A truly well run clean friendly site set in its own grounds of wooded walks with deer and red squirrels.
It is superbly maintained and for the boating fraternity just the best. Loved it really loved it and will definitely visit again this time with a boat.
