We loved this little site, ,
Really nice location for a walk into the village (doggy friendly pubs) or a walk along the canal side into Skipton for fish and chips (bus or train back)
The site itself is run by an older couple who were spot on and very laid back, even when I ploughed his grass up, nice people all round,
Toilets and shower block ok, plenty hot water and at a price of £18 per night, ,
We went on a circular walk at mallem tarn but do take the car 8 miles away, really good walk though, ,
If I'm passing I would go back no bother

Just got back from a most enjoyable weekend away. The site is like going back in time with a couple of hardstandings but we were on grass with hook up, a long lead is needed, as the owner put it 'on his lawn'. Its part of a working concern a corn and coal merchants but don't let that put you off is next to the Leeds Liverpool Canal 5-10 mins walk from the village of Gargrave. The owner is a real character with a great sense of humour and is wife who greeted us is a very nice friendly lady.
We went to the Old White Swan Pub in village and had a fantastic meal all home cooked and some nice Black Sheep Bitter too but unfortunately we were told this was the landlady's last weekend at the pub as they were moving on.
Next day we got the train to Skipton from the village which takes less than 10 mins journey and what a great place Skipton is, a lovely old market town with a market on when we arrived on a Saturday loads of cafe's restaurants, shops a castle to boot and of course pubs where on my sampling I never had a duff pint. A great little site the toilets and showers are very old but clean no heating in them or fancy flowers, music or pictures like I said like going back in time.

Spent a night here on return from Whitby. Had a tent with a campervan so had to pitch next to shower block as we were told it was rocky just beneath the surface of the grass other than on tent field so would be hard to pitch a tent anywhere else.
Owner was chatty and friendly, facilities quite basic. Near canal and some hookups right by the side of it although as we had to be near the tent we couldn't see it from where we were pitched.
Ducks wander the site waiting to be fed. Didn't see a playground.
Quite a few statics on the site, OK for a stopover not sure we'd fancy a few days there although quite handy for Skipton etc.

Third visit to the site and again really enjoyed our stay. It is situated in a great spot with easy access to some beautiful scenery and walking.
The site isn't very big with some static vans, a shower block, toilet block and washing room. The camping field is compact but we had ample room for our 25 foot caravan and full awning. For such a large unit and with two adults and four children this was excellent value for money.
Two of our children are small and care and close supervision was necessary as the canal is next to the site.
Great walking from the site along the canal and a short walk into Gargrave with pubs, a few shops and a small coop.
The big pub along the canal next to the premier inn isn't great but is kiddy friendly.

We visited Eshton road in May for 4 nights and had a great time, luckily the weather was kind.
The tent field is very small (probably only get 4/5 tents on it) which was fine as it was out of season most of the time it was us and one other, it is very close to the road, with a wall round it, but doesn't have the facility for dogs to have a run around, but our two didn't seem to mind, and it was next to the canal so we just took them for a wander down there.
The village is only 5 min walk at the most where you will find a small co-op, cash machine and two pubs (both welcome dogs inside and have beer gardens) both of which have good ale (according to my partner) and yummy homecooked food.
The toilet/shower block is basic but clean. They are separate blocks (I think about 4 toilets and 3 showers, I believe the make to be about the same (my partner didn't really mention) always hot water no matter what time we showered. There is also a washing up room with a few sinks that help with the dishes.
The campsite is fairly well lit until about 11 when I noticed the floodlights were switched off.
The only downside is if you are a light sleeper the haulage trucks start arriving around 5. 30 am but after the first nights I didn't notice it much - just turned over and drifted back off.
It is a great central point for visiting, Inglton, Malahm and Skipton.

Agree with other reviews here. We stopped off here on dark, wet December night, on our way to visit family in Skipton. Nearby Craven-Heifer site turned us away as they were closed.
Owner met us as we arrived, as we were only staying one night, he gave us a hard-standing near the toilet block. Not a problem as it was very quiet on site.
5 minutes walk into the village for nice pub, and well-stocked co-op.
Nice spot at the side of the Leeds Liverpool canal. Will Come back here for a longer stay once the weather gets a bit better.

This is a really comfortably relaxed site. It's position beside the Leeds-Liverpool canal must have something to do with it!
Our pitch for one night wasn't ideal, but as we were just passing through it was fine and convenient for the showers and toilets. The facilities were a little tired, but well maintained and very clean.
A short walk down the canal, or into Gargrave, offers several pubs, a number of small shops and a well stocked supermarket.
Following a Sunday roast in the Old Swan Inn, we took a leisurely stroll along the canal, before heading back to the site, picking up our comfortable chairs and a book, and taking them to the canal bank to watch the world go by in the sunshine - what better way to spend a Sunday.

Just returned from a weekend visit to this site and loved it!
The owner was a lovely chap full of Yorkshire banter and couldn't have been more accommodating - we could arrive when we wanted and leave when we wanted - which was great as we could wait until the tent had dried out to put it away.
The tent field is quite small so if you have quite a large tent like ours I would recommend getting there early. The only downside for me was the no electric (which we use for light and coolbox - NO TV) but for a weekend break we easily managed.
The facilities are great, 4 toilets for females and 3 showers (sorry no men in our party so cant comment on the male facilities) plenty of free hot water for showers. Washing up facilities are inside so don't get wet while doing the dishes and there was also two plug sockets in here for hair dryers etc.
Gargrve a nice village with nice pubs and a co-op selling everything you need. Also a great walk down the canal path into skipton ( about 4 1/2 miles) lots of pretty boats and wildlife.
So final note its a great little site by the canal with a fab owner who you cant help but fall in love with, would recommend and will use again.

This is lovely little site. The owners very friendly and helpful. We were placed next to the canal and the parked canal boats as we were only there for one night. Only five minutes walk into Gargrave for pubs, cafes and shops. The toilets and showers were clean and well maintained though quite basic. Good walking, cycling area only 5 miles from Malham.

Stayed overnight cycling along the canal from liverpool,
It's a little gem of a site, friendly and laid back, clean with basic facilities, small tent field is alongside a quiet road which is well sheltered by a stone wall,
Site itself is alongside the leeds liverpool canal near to skipton which is well worth a visit. Very short walk to the local pub,
No parking on the tent field itself so wasn't all churned up considering weather was so wet,
Ideal for backpackers and cycle-tourists looking for that cheap and cheerful campsite.
