I have stayed at this campsite quite a few times and I really enjoy visiting it. The staff are all friendly and likes a laugh & a joke.
It is mainly for caravans/motorhomes however there is a small area to pitch tents. I found the toilets/showers to be fairly small however they are clean enough and there is ample space to wash your dirty dishes etc. The best bit about this campsite is that it is only a short walk away from the pubs. There are 3 pubs all serving lovely pub meals and a really nice indian restaurant on the main street of gargrave. Although only small the food is really good and at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend a visit to this campsite.

At first glance a small quiet site, but as the day wore on more and more campers arrived and in the end felt quite cramped. The toilets / showers are basic but clean as is the dish wash up. Super walks along the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Very friendly owner who seems to go out of his way to accommodate anyone who turns up. The only down side was the small warehouse next door which had HGV's arriving just after 6.00 am! no need for an alarm clock.

Whilst the others reviews on here don't say anything I'd disagree with I would like to add a couple of negatives so that people can make a more balanced assessment as to whether they want to stay here. My girlfriend and I left after one night of our two night break, and as seasoned campers neither of us is particularly precious. The field (if you can call it that) is extremely small. Although it says 30 pitches on here I think that's highly unlikely, unless they're crammed in on top of each other. The night we stayed there were nine and it was at least half full. The site's also a pavement's width away from a road which carries noisy HGV's and heavy duty farming machinery. Because it's situated adjacent to a working business you'll also hear the phone ringing externally (as we did at 10pm). As for Gargrave, please don't expect a quaint Dales village, because it isn't that at all. It has a Co-Op, an Indian restaurant and a couple of average (but no more) pubs.and that's it really. That said, if it's only one night as a hiking stop-off point look at the positives elsewhere.any longer, I'd advise you to take our concerns into account.

A very nice well kept site by the canal. Toilets basic but very clean. Extremely pleasant owners, very friendly and helpful with good sense of humour. Friendly seasonal residents also happy to help. Spent a pleasant afternoon watching the boats in the locks, then tried the pubs in Gargrave.
There is a petrol station just around the corner from the site, and a Co op in Gargrave, which is within walkig distance along the canal. We will definitely be returning to this site, hopefull soon, and almost certainly in the summertime

July 2004 Small site by canal, very friendly helpful owner. New shower block, toilets very old/basic but clean. A lot of seasonal tourers, so although grass touring pitches are flat the overall feel is cramped, ok for short stop.

Several weekends and a full week in 2002/3 A quiet site adjacent to the canal - plenty of ducks to feed. Lock not far away. A short stroll into Gargrave with a couple of good pubs. Longer stroll to another good pub with excellent food. Just walk alongside the canal, take a torch for night time.Toilets and showers good, showers nice temperature.Owner good fun, likes a laugh and joke.Recommend Easter weekend - although fully booked this year as Gargrave is well decorated. Good site for Skipton and base for other local towns. We use it as a base and go as far as Hawes.
