If anyone asked me I would only be able to say ' well it was ok '. Quite a slope on both fields, no views ( only a huge pylon )owners friendly and helpful enough and the electrics really need an upgrade, we were told only to use fridge lights and tv or it would trip. Nice toilets and showers but they are at nearest 100yds away, the hand towel in one of the toilets was there the whole of the week we stayed. There are some lovely walks along the canal but it is about. 5 of a mile away from the site. While we were there a group of 60 boys and associated staff were there, can't say there was any problem with them at all but with 3 toilets and 3 showers available it was far too many. Would we stay there again ? well if all of the other sites nearby were full and Lower Foxhangers was offering a sale and we HAD to be in Devizes we would consider returning. Oh and don't go anywhere near the snobby Marina, we walked down to look at the boats, went just inside the gates and were told to get out in no uncertain terms by the manager ( they are separate from the camp site ) so we can only assume that they think caravans on water are superior to caravans on land.

Had a very enjoyable 4 nights at this little site. Very friendly helpful owners. Good facilities with free showers and toilets clean and well cared for. When we booked there were no electric pitches available but the owner came round and offered us one when the person who'd booked it didn't turn up.
Lovely big pitches which we like - we saw other sites over the Easter weekend that had people crammed into serried rows while we had all the space we could wish for.
Easy access to the canal. We drove to Trowbridge then paddled back in our kayaks then cycled back along the towpath to get the car.
Excellent walking - check out the Wansdyke path - an unheralded gem of a medium distance path.
Great pubs - 3 Magpies a walk along the canal, The Bell in Seend, The Crown at Bishops Canning etc, great beer and food including good veggie options.
Site is gently sloping and some distant road noise but otherwise pretty faultless

We only stopped for one night as we were using the site as a base for a wedding in Devizes.
Site wasn't the flattest but found a couple of bricks on the hedge to pop under the chocks so no big problem.
The facilities in the new block were good and very clean and tidy. The owners were helpful when we booked, we didn't meet them when we were there.
Had we not been in wedding clobber, it would have been a nice walk in to Devizes along the canal. We had to get a taxi and it only cost £8 to get to the centre.
We'd like to return for a longer stay and do some of the walks that are handily displayed around the site.

Nice campsite for all, unisex facilities may not please everyone but everybody seemed happy, no different to French camp sites, just a lot cleaner.
Plenty to do, with the canal on your doorstep, pubs in either direction, did not try the food in any and the price for a pint is a bit steep (like the flight of locks).
Not the flattest of sites but no real problem. Owner very friendly and helpful. Recommend short cycle into Devizes on a Thursday for the market, normal market stall nothing fancy, there is also an indoor market that caters for most interests.

We love this site! It is friendly, laid back, quiet and pleasant. We brought our bicycles this time, and loved cycling up the towpath past all the locks (towpath easily accessed through the farmyard) and also cycled to the Raven at Poulshot, lovely old pub. Also recommend the Bistro in Devizes for a meal!
Facilities basic but perfectly adequate, a little noise from the main road but not much.
Great place, we will be back.

This site had good facilities, with toilets and showers and a disabled toilet. But my main reason for writing this review is to say that you can access the canal in a very short time without dicing with death as previously suggested - you cross over the little road which only goes to the marina (definitely not a main road), through the farm yard and through a little copse - through the gate and there you are at the bottom of the Caen Hill flight of locks. We hope to go back as we visited when someone had managed to lift one of the bottom set of gates off its hinges and they were waiting for a crane to come from Manchester to lift it back on!

Good sheltered site, on very gentle slope with spacious pitches, decent space between each. 3 showers all clean, plenty hot water, no meter. 4 Loos including 1 disabled spotlessly clean. Sinks for dish washing. Some traffic noise from nearby road on easterly wind but not overbearing. Easy access to canal 100 metres either through static caravan area or by farm track, (I don't understand previous comment by bertiebustner re crossing busy road) Ducks chickens and moor hens wandering about. Friendly owner, cost £15 night midweek 2 Adults and tent £17. 50 weekend.

Just returned from a lovely weekend at Lower Foxhangers. The owners have set aside two fields to use for camping - one with hook up and one without. We chose the latter to be with my sister who was in a tent. Huge pitches and although not spot on level it was easily remedied using your blocks. Yes there is an electric pilon in the next field but it really didn't worry us as it was used by the buzzard family to hunt from.
The site was nearly full but was quiet with room for the few children staying there to play. The owners were really pleasant and justifiably proud of both their beautiful house, garden and camp site.
The start of the famous Calne locks is just a few hundred yards from the gate from the tow path into the site. We walked one way to the top and into Devizes and then the second day we turned left and walked as far as the Magpie Inn for a very nice lunch in the beer garden.
Excellent base, dog friendly, lovely campsite and nice owners - what more could you want!

Nice site with nice views over the fields. Big electricity pylon to look at as well. Loos OK bit dated. Owner quoted a price of £14 per night over the phone, took deposit, then charged us £15 a night when we got there. I asked why 'bank holiday' was all that was said. I didn't argue (or felt that arguing would help)
Our problem was that we cycle. There is no access to the canal without going on a busy road. So we won't go back!

Spacious, tidy area, and very reasonably priced during low season. The directions to canal a little confusing to us at first. Fortunately we were walking to the pub, not trying to get our bike on the canal path. Reception was a challenge to locate at first, but owners were very pleasant. Facilities are some distance from the field, which did not have many level places. But all was clean and pleasant.
