Spent 3 nights at this campsite.
Facilities very basic.
Toilets not close to pitch field. At least a 1/4 mile walk to toilets, and showers.
No water drains, only standpipe in field.
No lighting.
No fishing on site, another walk across farmland to canal, but you need a licence to fish.
Took a nice walk along canal to devises.
There is a marina close by, but you are not allowed to enter the site, looks nice though.
Not a busy site, ideal if you want to get back to basics.
We paid £48. 00 for 3 nights, but this seems a bit steep for the facilities provided.

This was our second visit to this site. There are two fields and we have stayed on both. On each occasion the weather was mixed with some very heavy rain. No problem with flooding although some of the cars had problems on the wet grass. (There is a second exit at the bottom of the first field for emergencies).
Location is excellent with easy access to the Caen hill flight of locks providing a safe and pleasant route to walk to Devizes. The owner is very helpful and slightly laid back but he doesn't miss anything! I had a look at the facilities last visit and they were clean and adequate but we don't often use site facilities other than cdp and water as we have them in the caravan.
There are several water points and good pressure. The CDP is adequate but out in the open by the lower exit from the first field. The hookups have limited power which is made clear at time of booking (if you read the form).
There is an excellent pub in Poulshot (The Raven) which can be reached by footpath once you have risked your life crossing the main road. Beer from the wood and excellent food - just what I like. We will be back.

We arrived without giving prior notice and the very helpful owner was happy to find us a place.
A very nice slightly sloping grassy site with a single hard standing (which we were happy to use with our camper van so as not to mess up the grass – there had been a lot of rain for a few days).
The Unisex Toilet and Shower block is very clean and well laid out.
The site is very near to the Kennet & Avon Canal and the very impressive Caen Hill lock flight – very well worth a visit.

We chose this site as it was close to the canal. As usual for us it was a two night stay, went to the farmhouse when we arrived and checked in by the owners who explained where everything was. There are two small fields, we were in the second which was sloping and I think we had the most unlevel pitch with no electric. You will need a waste hog for grey water as there was no where to drain our grey tank on a motorhome. Nice clean quiet site in a great position to explore the canal just what we were looking for.

We visited for a weekend along with another family in their caravan. We had neighbouring pitches with hook ups in the second field. Pitches were slightly sloping, but only required one levelling block on one corner. The hedges keep the pitches sheltered from the wind allowing us to be outside till nearly midnight.
The hook up is only 6 amp, so no high load devices, which is explained in the sites website.
The toilet blocks are a walk away from the pitch fields, but allow the kiddies to visit horses and ducks on the way. There are 2 toilets blocks, one attached to the main farm house that didn't appear to get much traffic. The other block has a separate disabled access toilet for ease. All kept spotless the whole time we were there.
This site is perfect for a car free holiday or weekend break. A quick walk through an orchard brings you to the Kennet & Avon Canal and the 29 locks comprising the Caen Hill set. A lovely walk up the towpath brings you to Devizes with pubs giving value for money in terms of meals.
Whilst the wives and kids went wandering around the town, we hubbies went for a pee up in a brewery, literally! The Wadworth brewery is well worth a visit and sampling.
Yet another top spot we had never found in all the years. Within an hour from home on a busy Friday afternoon if you avoid the A303.

I stayed at Foxhangers a few times last year, and it was lovely to go back there.
The site is simple, with good sized grass pitches, and some ehu's.
The owners are friendly.
Although there isn't a play area for children, my lot we're that bothered, there are so chickens and ducks walking round, a muddy pond and trees. So every thing 5-7 year olds want !
A couple of minute walk out of the back of the site and your on the canal, and a short walk from some great pubs :-)
The toilet / shower and washing up facilities are kept very clean.
We will certainly visit again

Discovered this superb campsite at the last minute, in time for May half term. So glad I did!
Although they were very busy over the bank holiday weekend the owners offered the top corner of the field where we would be out of the chaos and have plenty of room for the following week too.
Only 3 showers and toilets but was not that busy so never had to queue, plenty of hot water, and shower blocks clean and well kept. In the toilet block the owners have provided tourist info and pub menus etc which we found very useful.
We were only a few mins walk from the canal and I bought fishing licences for my boys on arrival from the farmer.
I was concerned that my kids might miss a playground, but they had more fun exploring, fishing, amusing themselves and feeding the ducks instead.
We can't wait to return to this gem of a campsite and just hope it doesn't get bigger and busier when the wharf next door is completed.
Local area is gorgeous, plenty of flat or hilly walks, about an hours walk with kids into Devizes uphill or can access some great pubs along the flat canal path towards Seend.
Scenery and wildlife are marvellous. Although I was still waking at 4 waiting for the cockerel and pheasant for days after my return home
Awesome value for money too!

Just spent two days at this pleasant site near the canal. Very helpful welcome from the owners and the toilet and shower facilities were spotless. The whole site is very well cared for even though it was out of season and winter.
Camping field had electric hookups on slightly sloping grass so levelling blocks would be needed but only one hard standing base next to water tap.
As the site is located adjacent to the canal path, which is wide and suitable for bicycles it would be an ideal location for families. There are also static vans available for hire which were being used during our visit and also undoubtedly popular.
Plenty of interest in the area for visits and other activities.

Had a lovely week here - nice sunny site consisting of two fields, some trees on the edges for shelter and some nice views across the countryside. Lovely walks along the canal paths, great to walk to the Caen Locks and watch the barges going up and down! We walked along the canal to the Three Magpies pub one evening - Dont go there! - we made the mistake of following the signage to it which directed you onto the main road which was a horrible walk with no footpath and when we got there the food was bloomin' horrible too, cheap microwaved rubbish (except not cheap). If you just keep walking further along the canal instead you will get to the Barge Inn which is much better - unfortunately it is further to walk and was out of walking range for our small kids who were tired and hungry at the time which is why we stopped where we did, but we wouldn't make the same mistake again!
The kids loved the campsite - there was a 'ditch camp' up one end with rope swings and trees to climb, where they could play safely and secretly and an area in the middle for ball games - if you don't like kids playing ball games near your pitch then beware, as there were lots of families with kids and with all pitches around the edge of the fields then the view is of kids playing - great if you want to keep an eye on your own (like we did), not so great if noisy playing kids will spoil your holiday!
Toilets, wash up area and showers were good, clean and plenty of hot water - they are located a little walk away from the field, but really not too far and fine for us in a caravan as we used our own facilities most of the time - might be a bit more tricky in the dark if you needed to get down there, as not much in the way of lighting to guide your way, so bring a good torch! Lots of water dotted around the site, electric hook up did trip quite regularly if more than a kettle was on, so we tended to boil up a brew on the gas hob and then everything else ran OK from the EHU.
The price per night was reasonable, especially as it was high season and we would definitely go back.

Stayed here for the weekend and we were delighted with the site. Nice toilets and showers ample sinks for washing and separate ones for washing up. We were on a non electric pitch on top of the hill, what a view. The canal is just a couple of minuets walk away.I wouldn't want to be pitched at the bottom next to the chemical disposal but someone has too. We will be going again
