Matt and Donna-Marie work tirelessly to make your holiday great. The site is well spaced with large pitches, it is maintained to a good standard, clean and tidy. New showers planned this winter will bring the block up to date and we have no doubt these will not be the only improvements Matt and Donna will carry out. The plunge pool is clean and the communal area well used by the campers. BBQ's, boules, table tennis all add to the fun if you want to join in or not over to you. Trips to the local wine yards are arranged and the wine is very good! As social occasions these are great ways to get to know others on site. The site is close to towns, bars, restaurants and markets and local people are very friendly, especially if you try to speak French. Are we coming back, the plans are being made now> Thank you guys for a brilliant holiday Charlie and Paul T

We were welcomed by the new owners Donna and Matt after a long drive. We store our van at Le Serpolin and have done for a few years. We love the site and Donna and Matt are friendly and welcoming. We went on a wine tour and tasting at Chateau de Brosse which Donna organised which is highly recommended. They even arranged lifts there so we could try all the different wines ! The site has plans for a new ladies and gents showers and loos which will be great. There is Wifi from each pitch now too. We went to the BBQ one evening and met the other campers organised by Donna and Matt which was a lovely evening. We can't recommend Le Serpolin enough. You do have to drive to the supermarkets etc but this has never been a problem. Friendly, quiet and in a beautiful area.

A lovely quiet site, so peaceful with views across fields and the most stunning sunsets. We'd started out at a very commercial and cramped site and decided to move and found this little gem with space for us.
The hosts Matt and Donna are so welcoming, they put on a BBQ for family and the 'campers' (hopefully you can imagine how that sounds said in a Bristolian accent) and took us along to the local Cave for a wine tour and tasting.
The bathroom facilities are a little basic but perfectly usable (they've plans to significantly improve them soon). There is a small pond which is teeming with fish and a great above ground plunge pool, just right for those hot days, so refreshing.
Would definitely recommend for a quiet, peaceful stay. It's a bit of a drive to shops restaurants etc but that's part of its charm.

This is a small friendly site set off the beaten track in rural France, and is just like a British CL at its best.
The facilities included: a good toilet/shower block plus an excellent reading library, plus information leaflets for the surrounding areas. All the pitches are large which overlook the adjacent fields, thus giving a relaxing atmosphere. In the evening you can sit down to watch the sun disappear and set on the horizon, whilst having wine glass in hand - now that is magic!
The plunge pool proved a big hit with our grandchildren; also the fish literally jump onto their small rods and nets whilst fishing in the pond. Not to forget the goat and the chicken, this also kept them amused too.
There are lots of small villages in the surrounding areas to visit. It is not too far to travel to Saumur neither. Chinon is well worth a journey, with its fortress and the town comes alive when it’s Bastille or the Mediaeval Day. The Zoo at Doue-la-Fountaine is superb, as it is set in an old quarry, which is unusual and very cleverly done.
We stayed for the duration of three weeks, and a good time was had by all
Many thanks Theresa

A cracking little friendly spotless site, if you want piece and quite this is a great site. Fun to fish in the pond and you cant fail. Toilet and shower block always spotless and loads of hot water. A warm welcome from the family and the dog when you arrive, choice of pitches just a gem. Nice location for exploring the vineyards and doing some tasting.

Have to agree with the other reviews this is a lovely campsite a little peace of heaven in a lovely part of France.
A little off the beaten track but well worth the effort enjoyed 5 nights here with excellent facilities, very clean toilets, showers, and a excellent little fishing pond were you could not fail to catch some fish.
There are plenty of places to visit within easy reach for example the Zoo which is well worth a trip and then the stunning city of Saumur with a trip on the river boats.
Thanks to Adam and Theressa who were very welcoming and could not do enough to help.
Would we visit again yes with out question.

If your looking for peace and tranquility then this is the perfect campsite for you. The site set a fair way from the small village was very clean with a small toilet/shower block that was also spotless. The plunge pool although a bit cold when getting in was a delight.
Adam and Theressa were very welcoming and could not do enough to help, Louis the dog was a cutey despite his appearance!
The surrounding area was beautiful with small villages and larger towns within easy driving distance.
All in all I would recommend this site but probably not for larger children.

A lovely tranquil, rural setting. Tucked away from all traffic noise with only the sounds of nature. A true 'getaway from it all' place. Small site with lots of space electric hook ups, surrounded by open fields. Clean, warm, out of season facilities, plenty of local information and maps, library and games to use. Play areas, lovely plunge pool. Covered outdoor eating area with communal barbecue Bicycles for all to rent cheaply to explore the surrounding safe country lanes. Shops and large supermarket close by. Lovely people, great place. Excellent gite to rent and very accomodating caravan storage /service. We have already booked for next year for our piece of heaven in France.
