We have just returned from Wayside after a 3night break over the MayDay Bank Holiday weekend.
The site was great very clean and tidy, ran by a lovely couple who were only too happy to assist.
The weather wasn't the best, but the site was well drained and we didn't see any boggy ground.
As previous review said the toilets and showers were clean although a tad chilly, so we used the caravan facilities.
We will return next time we are visiting the area.

Fantastic. Truly. My only negative comment is that during daytime hours the nearby road is a teeny bit noisy but not majorly so. All goes quiet after 5pm ish though.
A beautiful site, like a large CL really. Ray the owner is probably the friendliest and most helpful owner we have ever encountered. Levelling blocks are advisable for MH owners given the slope of the site but this is in no way a concern. Nice big pitches in the countryside where you can kick back with a cold one and marvel at the Red Kites who will fly within 30 feet of you. Beautiful.
The shower block is immaculately clean and well maintained BUT very chilly in early April. Coin operated showers give you 5 minutes of lovely hot water though.
Kangaroo Inn is a ten minute walk where the local ales were tremendous. The menu isn't particularly adventurous but all the meals our party enjoyed were fresh and wholesome.
Honestly, for a short break, this site is lovely, particularly if you love bird life.

We have just returned from a week's visit to this lovely campsite. The owners could not have been more helpful, welcoming us on arrival and taking us to our pitch.
Yes the site slopes but not too much and Ray provides practical assistance in levelling the unit. The site is small but very friendly. Pitches are large to enormous - plenty of space for the largest units!
The facilities are adequate for the size of site and kept very clean. We wondered how the 50p for the shower would work but it was fine - long hot showers. We chose the campsite because of the surrounding area and were not disappointed.
We visited loads of interesting places: Ludlow, and Cardingmill valley at Church Stretton are not to be missed. For food supplies there is a small community shop a 10 mins wlak from the site - surprisingly well-stocked. There is a supermarket, Tuffins, at Craven Arms and a number of supermarkets in Ludlow itself.
For a more gourmet experience try the Ludlow Food centre just north of Ludlow.
Overall an excellent visit.

This a very nice campsite. Slightly inclined pitches. Ablutions are clean and new, however only one shower at this time for each sex. They operate on 50 p meters.
There is a nice pub just a short walk away, The Kangaroo. The owners of campsite very friendly.
This is just outside craven arms. Not yet marked on OS maps.

Wow what a lovely site. We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at this site with friends. The owner very polite, pleasant and helpful.
The site does have a slight slope but with our levelling block on one wheel we were pretty flat, so do not let the slope worry you. The owner has left chocks of wood at the back or each pitch and there are more available should you need them.
Toilet block lovely and clean, tons of information on site about the surrounding area. Also the usual washing up area which is in a biggish shed so very sheltered from any bad weather. There are water taps at the back of every few pitches which was very handy.
There was no dedicated play equipment for my 2 children and our friends children but this didn't put us off as they thoroughly enjoyed riding up and down the gravel road in the middle of the site on their bikes. Visited Ludlow and the castle which is about 20/25 mins away and only paid £2 to stay in the car park up to 10hrs.
Lots of nice little shops, cafes, banks etc. We would definitely recommend this site to anyone who wishes to visit this area
And yes we will definitely be returning to this beautiful, peaceful & tranquil site again. Thank you wayside

What a lovely friendly site this was, the warden who helps out couldn't do enough for us,
It is slight slope but no problem,
Lovely views from all around the site, bird song,
Road busy in day, but at night really quiet,
The facilities were really clean and adequate,
Some flat spots for tent,
We would visit again if we were in that area

Recently purchased a large (very large) tunnel tent to take the family away next year.
We wanted a nice quiet camp site, not to far to travel for the weekend, and decided upon Wayside.
Contacted Ray, and made the booking, arrived on the Friday evening, to be met by Ray, who was very friendly and helpful and walked us to a large pitch area just opposite the toilets, and washing up facilities.
Slight slope but no real problem, access to electric hookup and water stand pipes.
The site is well maintained and quiet, bit of road noise, but nothing too bad. Very quiet at night, mainly tourers and motorhomes on site, all very friendly.
The site does lack something for the kids, but then again, we weren't looking for that this time around, but it is spacious enough for kids to play.
Nice little pub that serves food, 5 mins down the road.
Posters had been displayed showing what was going on locally.
In all a very enjoyable weekend, will definitely be returning to Wayside, hopefully in a couple of weeks.

We stayed here for one week at the start of August, we being myself, my wife and our 4 children aged from 1 to 10. We also took along my mum and step-dad in their caravan. On arrival we were met by the owner who drove ahead of us to help us find our pitch, and also to help us position our trailer.
This was very useful as the jockey wheel had decided to collapse sideways when leaving the previous site. He and a seasonal caravanner helped us pitch, and because the site has quite a slope to it he also provided extra blocks to even out our trailer. The slope didn't bother us, and the view was fantastic, so much so that our 2nd son is still mentioning it.
We had mains hookup and water was easily available, with easy access by the toilet blocks to the elsan point.
The toilet block was clean and pleasant, with the shower working well. It takes a 50p coin for 5 minutes, but in practice this was a rather long 5 minutes and caused us no issues.
The site was very quiet at night and we enjoyed a good nights sleep, apart from a few nights of rather poorly children. We also managed to look around the area and there is lots to do with Ludlow a short hop away. We recommend Stoksey castle, Clun and a trip into the department store 'Tuffins' in Cravan Arms though I had to remove my other half from it as she would have bought the shop. That said we did managed to get a variable wattage halogen heater to warm us up as it got cold at night!
Overall a lovely site with friendly people The seasonal pitched caravanners were also lovely and friendly and take pride in everything. They also helped me change the jockey wheel by finding me some spanners!
We are planning to return with friends next year, though we will have to make it 2 weeks to enjoy the area fully, and we are looking at booking the static caravan 'lodge' in February. Thoroughly recommended!

Very friendly owner, nothing too much trouble. Site is on a quite steep slope that's not evident from the pics. There was a lot of rain before we arrived and during one night we were there and although we were at the bottom of the field it was pretty well drained, we experienced no probs. The toilets (2) and shower(1) were very clean and there was no prob with waiting. The site is in a really quiet part of the world, proper back of beyond. The only downside I could think of there is nowhere to walk the dog. Outside the site there is a quite fast road with no footpaths so it was a short ride in the car to the village green. There is a pub within 5 minutes walk and is very nice. There's a small town about 2 miles away with a couple of take aways, a couple of pubs and a supermarket that was surprisingly cheap.

Stayed three nights over bank holiday weekend. Weather lousy and very wet. Site on a slope and well drained so no problems. Site owner very friendly and helpful. On arrival he took us to our pitch and lined me up then made sure we were level. Showers approved by all. Toilets clean. Quiet site so great for us but a bit too quiet for two 14 year old boys. Nice pub a quarter of a mile away. Intend to visit again as lovely area.
