Stayed here for one night to practise putting up our 8 man tent as we'd never put a tent up before and thought we'd go while the kids were with their dad.
The site was quiet as was the area. Very peaceful except for the mooing of cows!
Only saw the couple that ran the site when we arrived but found this nice as like to be left to our own devices. The site had electric hook up and also a tap so no traipsing down the field to fill the kettle.
There was plenty of room and the toilet block is pretty new. There is a mens and womens toilets with two toilets each, a shower that costs 50 pence that lasts 5 minutes, which is probably enough time and one washing up sink which not sure is enough when the site is full but it is only a small site so may be adequate.
We found the stay pleasant enough and if you want a peaceful break then this place is good enough.
Watch out for the three pheasants that wonder round the site.
The only grumble I have is that the grass was slightly long, so because it rained, we got soaking wet feet on the way to the loo. Apart from that no complaints.
Site also has lovely views,a pub and shop down the road and plenty of places to visit not too far away.

Arrived on a sunny Friday afternoon to a nearly empty site, this due to rain most of the previous week. Ray was mowing the grass and directed us to our pitch, the site is on a bit of a hill so levelling can be a bit of a pain when wet as traction is a little hard to find, however the views are well worth the hassle once parked up. The new toilet block is a gem though, maybe a little wasted space and another shower would be helpful at peak times. The Kangaroo pub is but a 5 min walk down the road, quaint enough but not my cup of tea, food expensive for what arrives on the plate and menu very limited,
The other pub at Booth was like going back in time, a good point to remember for those without travel is that a taxi from Craven Arms is £4.00
Which compared to where I live is an excellent price as there were three of us in the taxi, Craven arms pub is a must for food and history.

Stayed at Wayside over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. This was Jessica's first trip and she thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so she is going to go camping again. We missed the turning originally into the campsite so turned around in the "Kangaroo" Pub car park about 2 minutes down the road, where we discovered the Beer Festival. Great Start to the weekend!
The site itself was very tidy and pitches were very spacious, with the option of electric hookups. The owner was very friendly too. The toilet block is new and is very clean with a shower cubicle and at 50p is very nice indeed! There is also a washing up room and in there are many leaflets providing information about the surrounding area. The site itself is about 5 minutes from the town of Craven arms where there are a few shops for essentials. There are quite a few attractions nearby, including The Wernlas collection of rare poultry (pleasant and interesting), Stokesay Castle, Secret Hills discovery centre, Mickey Miller's Playbarn for the kids. Nearby in Broome there are trains running as far as Swansea. Several pubs within easy reach with the kangaroo the closest being about 10 minutes walk.
The views from the campsite are beautiful, makes a very nice start to the day! I would recommend this site for anyone wanting a nice quiet break in a place near to attractions. We will be returning for the beer festival next year!

Last minute decision to visit Shropshire Countryside and despite the V festival traffic arrived @ Wayside which offered plenty of space between pitches and included hook ups, water supply & chemical disposal however have been advised to book in advance Bank Hols etc... as gets busy but fantastic views, facilities are clean but basic, 1 WC and Shower at the moment. Owner is in process of build plans for New WC/Shower Block nxt year. Large sloping up field, grass not bad nice ground for tent pegging. Child and Pet friendly as long as they are kept on leashes, Dogs that is! Will be re-visiting very soon.

This is a small site lacking crowds in our July 2005 visit. I think it is limited to 10 pitches and there is 1 static on-site. 2005 facilities very basic housed in a little wooden hut – a single toilet and single shower. New wash facilities currently under construction. Site is in open countryside with nice views of the Clun Forest. Limited attractions in the immediate area but the campsite was stacked with literature of what was available.
