We camped here for a one night stopover, and we were so pleased that we did. We discovered that this site was just what we were looking for - a small, comfortable and welcoming one.

We felt that this was a nice quiet site with large pitches & adequate facilities meeting our needs well. Ok the facilities weren't the most up to date ones, but that's not what we were looking for.

The facilities were clean enough and the showers were nice a big. The laundry facilities were as described, the shop had an array of useful items on offer which was a nice surprise for such a small site.

The only negative that I could see was the children's play area - from what I could see could offer more, all I noticed was a small boat dug into the ground?

We were quite late arriving but were still greeted by Karen (owner) with such a lovely warm welcome. We will definitely return to stay at this site when we are in the area again.

Just arrived home from our bank holiday stay in our American RV. Karen & her family were really helpful & full of joy, Karen greeted us on our arrival and took us to our massive pitch ( our RV is 36ft long and we still had room to park our car behind) I must say that there was 4 adults plus a 2yr old in our group so at £20 a night in high season is not bad, although its the same price for 1 person a night.

As for the facilities the toilet and shower block was ok but could do with re-vamping, I must say the gents were not the cleanest I noticed urine on the floor which was not cleaned up for at least two days ( well I say that unless someone was not a good shot) My partner said the ladies weren't the best either.

The shop is an absolute gem it is stocked with loads of accessories i.e gas, windbreaks, pegs, gas stoves etc as well as food. The shop was open round about 9am - 7pm which is brilliant when you run out of something most sites we have been to have only been open for about 2hrs a day so the shop is a massive bonus to the site.

Looking at the uk campsite guide it mentions about a play area for kids with a play house, well the playhouse is non existent there are no goal posts the only thing in the field was the old boat which had about 6' of rain water plus 2 orange road cones which I suppose could be a goal!

Also we were told there was only one tap for drinking water luckily we have a 50mtr hose pipe but we had to go to Trago mills for a tap adaptor as the tap is only suitable for your aquaroll push on pipe. Which I must say wasn't a big issue but luckily I put some water in before I left home. The chemical loo disposal wasn't the best as you open a small flap which empties straight into an open sewer but I have seen far worse on other sites.

Our overall opinion of site is that its a small friendly site which appealed to us if you are looking for a no frills site this one is for you, even Karen told me she likes the small basic but functional campsite unlike some of the massive holiday parks in the area. Which it does exactly that. But there are no hardstandings which Karen said she is not going to do.

Now to the question I always say would we stay again? Well if it is just the two of us then no as at £20 a night its too expensive, if its the 4 of us than yes. Also because there are no hardstandings we couldn't really book here again as our RV is 7.5t, which I must say didn't make a dent in the ground this time but luckily it was dry when we arrived considering the rain a few days before our arrival.

Our family has just returned from a really great holiday spent at Mount Farm, I couldn't believe how friendly and helpful Karen and her family were. Our holiday had stated off really badly (being towed off road works m6 because hubby put the wrong fuel in the car?) finally £180 later we were on our way again the the stupid sat nav decided to send us on a magical mystery tour (not so magical) we arrived very late pitch black and very tired, Karen was really helpful phoning around to try and find a b&b for us, but in the end we decided to sleep in the car??? and that I think was the highlight of the kids holiday!

The next morning we were up early getting the tent up Karen had kindly put us on a pitch where the season pitches are so we were not disturbing our neighbours as they weren't there.

Then the bliss of having a free Hot shower to make us feel human again.

The showers as I have said were hot and free three showers, four toilets and four sinks, and in the week that we were there never had to queue once, they were clean apart from grass and a bit of mud (due to our fantastic British weather).

Our pitch was well drained we did realise after about two nights that there was a slight slope but it was slight.

The washing up facilities were more than adequate two sinks and think I only had to wait once to use the them they are inside so no getting blown over or soaked while washing up.

The shop had just about everything you could need and had not been priced at stupid prices which is what usually happens.

My two older daughters in separate tents joined us for a few days and Karen let them pitch by us as they only had small tents.

Karen and her family were really helpful advising us of beaches and places to go.

We went Bantham beach very nice flat beach but £5 to park the car there is a toilet block and that's it. But Hope Cove which we discovered by accident trying to get to Bantham beach was really lovely the kids loved it it had rock pools and was smaller there are actually two beaches and were quite sheltered. We visited over the Bank holiday weekend and it was their family fun weekend lots going on although we didn't see any of it as the kids were having to much fun on the beach, had a lovely meal in the pub and was very reasonably priced.

The time of our stay was Dartmouth Regatta week brilliant Red Arrows display and then fireworks on the last day amazing!Only down side was the park and ride went from £4 at the start of the week and then jumped to £10!

We had a brilliant holiday and have already booked next year to stop at Mounts Farm and look forward to meeting up with Karen and family who helped make this such a great holiday.:)

We picked this site as it was in the ideal location at a reasonable price and near where I used to stay as a child when caravanning - 30 years ago!

I have to agree with a lot of what the previous reviewer has said.

The pitches are generous but the way they are located means that you are close together and one party very near us liked to sit in their tent and play games until quite late at night.

The toilet block reminded me of my childhood holidays - lovely and pretty on the outside with lots of flowers and very quaint on the inside! I don't mind moths and bugs - it's part of camping but I did hear a few shrieks coming from the showers! There does need to be a few more added as I was waiting for showers at 7.15am!

The main problem for us were the amount of children allowed to tear round on their bikes after dark without lights. We had one or two nasty close shaves with our boys nearly being run over.

The shop is great and the site has a very laid back feel to it - don't come here if you want zippy service but that is not Devon is all about anyway.

Unfortunately the weather turned on us. The Mounts is on a hill up from Kinsbridge and suffered from fog and strong wind and rain. This did for our tent after a few days and we and a lot of people had to leave as the tent failed and started to let water in and it got really miserable.

The weather on the coast was better but as the weather at the site was so bad the tent did not have time to dry out and so we had to come home early and we were very disappointed.

The South West has had 4 miserable summers in a row now so surely next year will be better?!

Have just returned after spending a week camping here and wanted to share our review.

We chose this campsite because it was ideally located for where we wanted to be in South Devon, the price and also the other views from this website!

The site is a really friendly family run site. Karen and her family are a really user friendly (!) and informative group of people. The site has three small fields some EHU and some not.

There is a shed with plenty of leaflets about where to go etc and it also has books left from other campers and a small chest freezer (free to use) to freeze and refreeze your ice packs if you need to. There is a bin & recycling area, water tap, small room where there are two sinks for washing your crockery & pots, a washing machine (£4 per wash) and a tumble dryer (£1 gets you 30 mins and 20p gets you 10 mins).

There is a small shop on site which sells camping essentials and any food / sweets / bread milk / papers you may need. If you want a daily paper then just ask Karen and she'll put one to one side for you.

There is a toilet waste area and a toilet/shower block. Mens (I'm informed by my husband and son!) has 2 showers and the womens has 3.

The price is extremely reasonable £18 per night non EHU pitch and £20 per night EHU pitch. The pitch sizes are extremely generous. Our tent was 7.5 mtrs x 8 mtrs (Outwell Hartford XXL) we also had a day tent a trailer and a car and we had plenty of room for all of these.

You are closeby to Morrisons (about 2 miles), there is a pub which is about 20 minute walk, ask Karen the directions, she draws a mean map! About 25 minutes from Plymouth,15 minutes from Salcombe (really pretty little town) and about 15 minutes from a lovely beach at Bigbury on Sea, great for rock pooling, sandcastles and has a couple of cafe's a beach shop and toilets.

The public car park is about £6 for the day but if you park at the field on the right before you get to the beach then it's only £3 for the day, it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach or alternatively get your husband to drop you at the beach with the kids and the bags and he can go back to park the car!

My only really little recommendation (as others have also commented) would be if the there were a couple more sinks for dishes and if the toilet/shower were updated, however that said they were kept clean and it would certainly not put me off visiting again.

I cannot recommend this little site more highly, VERY family friendly and dog friendly, can't wait to visit again next year!

Fantastic - we have just arrived back from 6 nights at Mounts Farm and it brought back memories of how the sites were when we went caravanning as a child (25ish years ago!)

We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival and shown to our very generous sized pitch. The site is in a great location with towns and beaches only a short drive away. The on site shower and toilet block were more than adequate and I don't recall having to wait to use either at any point and the site was full when we were there.

The shop has the basic food items very reasonable priced and pretty much anything to do with camping that you may need. Plenty of room for the kids to run around. Overall I couldn't have been happier with the site and if we go back to the same area I would rebook without a second thought.

The Campsite comprises of 3 camping fields, field 1 which is where the toilet block [clean and spacious, but a little dated, I have been to far worse], washing up facilities, freezer and shop are located, but this field seemed to house mainly long term caravans obviously there for the season.

The 2nd field seemed to be the main field with both caravans and tents, with electric hook ups down 2 sides and in middle of field. We were situated in far corner which seemed a little cramped but was due I think to wanting electric. There is a 3rd field which had caravans stored in one corner and tents in rest of field. There is no children's play area but there is room for playing ball games etc.

This is a quiet site although traffic noise can be heard from the road, the site is situated just off the A381, noise can also be heard from trucks and lorries visiting the ? wood sawing, business behind the main field, although this was limited to weekdays and was finished at approx 4.30pm.

The owners are very helpful and willing to recommend the best beaches etc. We went to Bigbury on Sea which is large sandy beach with rock pools to side, during low tide you can walk to small island of Burgh [where they apparently film Poirot] or if tide coming in have a ride on high wheeled tractor. Kingsbridge is excellant for crabbing, we caught a variety of sizes, and plenty of them.

Not a bad site although fairly basic, well situated for visiting the surrounding area.

Lovely Site, Great owners, good campsite shop which was very reasonably priced. The Toilet and Shower block was a little dated but kept very clean at all times.

The site itself is level and split into 3 areas, 2 non electric and one with EHU's. The nearest Supermarket is Morrison's in Kingsbridge which is only 3 miles away (if you know the shortcut, ask Karen ! )

Set in a perfect location for seeing all the attractions in South Devon ! Would definitely stay there again, thoroughly enjoyed it !

Just got back from a fab week at mounts, the facilities were up to a really good standard and always clean, the shop was well stocked from food to camping spares and equipment, the owners made you feel very welcome as they would walk round during the day and stop for a chat.

The local area was really good with Kingsbridge just down the road with a good sized supermarket and Salcombe was only 9 miles away which had a lovely harbour and beaches that are all sand and dog friendly

We have just arrived back from a week long holiday at this site and we had a lovely stay. The owners are truly lovely, very laid back and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They are fab with the kids too.
The site is a decent size with three large fields being used for camping and one field dedicated to the kids play area, which was nice but aimed at younger kids more. One field nearest to the shop and showers was used mainly by caravans but did have a couple of tents in too, the second field was probably the largest of the three, with a mix of caravans and tents around the edge and a few in the middle. The field we were on was a good size too, we were in the corner and had loads of space although we were on quite a noticable slope, it only really bothered us at bedtime when we all kept waking on top of each other lol.
The facilities weren't bad but could really do with updating. The actual shower themselves were lovely and warm and quite powerful. The loos were ok too, mostly clean and fresh. The washing up facilities were kept clean and tidy but aginn need a bit of updating, there was a good supply of hot water that didn't seem to run out.
The camp shop was very good, cant fault it at all, they had a large stock of camping equipment, from essentials to luxuries and also all the usual groceries, which were exellently priced, £1 for a pack of bacon, 80p for 2pts of milk, not like some of the overpriced places I have been too!

The only points that I think could do with looking at are, as said before update of the loos, showers and washing up facilities and they could maybe mow the grass a bit more often, as we tended to get soaked up our calves in the morning lol.
