Nice quiet site run in a traditional way by some very friendly laid back people. Many seasonal caravan pitches in one field who appear to have been there for years a testament to the appeal of the site. Another field gives big pitches around the edge
If you don't like quiet it won't be for you though there are children on site in school holidays so lively for youngsters. Brilliant shop and Karen is there to help you if you've camping problems. Dog walks are absent although the site is quite big. Don't try walking the lanes. Its dangerous.
The showers have there appeal but they are a little dated but didn't worry us. Just sit back and enjoy the holiday
Nearby attractions are Kingsbridge and picturesque Dartmouth.Torbay not too bar either. Plymouth 40 minutes away . Woodlands Adventure Park a few minutes away, good location is therefore the conclusion.
Give it a go. We'll be back sometime

Very welcoming site very friendly and helpful. We had a large pitch on outside edge of main field with electrical hook up, enough room for my norfolk lake and gazebo and two cars. We had a weeks worth of shopping delivered by online tescos and owners were happy to point them in our direction.
Very clean site, toilets very clean and adequate, maybe could do with updating but if you want that you would go to a more commercialised site, but if you want a nice friendly quiet site this is for you.
Plenty in surrounding area to go to, we would recommend trago mills and also becky falls for a day out. There was 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 8-12 year olds and we were able to keep them all entertained, on site they played football with plenty of space around. We have an autistic child and can honestly say this was the first site me and wife could relax and feel he was safe and sound on.

We booked in August 2008 in the hope that summer would have arrived by then. But no luck. The site was lovely and spacious, the owners were extremely helpful, the shop well stocked, but the toilet block could do with a bit of work. The location was perfect for access to all areas. Only 5 minutes drive to Kingsbridge - great crabbing! I think we would have had a great holiday if we had been able to stay the full week, but the gazebo blew away and one of the tents started to rip. The weather was unbelievably bad! Will have another go when the sun eventually comes out to play. Maybe October????

Old style camping at it's best. Very quiet site.
The owners are very friendly and laid back, nothing is too much trouble. We were told we could pitch where we wanted and they would get mains to us! A LOONG extension cable was connected up for us.
The shop is small, but extremely well stocked with excellent prices. How many small site shops have self raising flour on the shelves? - Lovely bread in the mornings.
Toilet block is a bit out of date, but kept very clean.
The only disapointment was the number of dogs on site, dogs are no problem, but sometimes the owners aren't quite as responsible as they should be, which we found here. There is a no dogs field, but without hookups, we'll probably stay there next visit.

We have just returned from a week staying at this site and have mixed opinions. The owners were very friendly and laid back, possibly a little too much so! We were attracted to the site by the description of basic with large pitches, no overcrowding and space in the middle for the children to play. We had booked following emailed confirmation, so it was a surprise therefore to arrive to a very busy site and be shown to a pitch in the middle of the field, very close to other tents behind us. That said we have a very large 12 person family dome, a gazebo, trailer and car and still had plenty of room between us and the tents on either side of us. The marked pitches round the edge of the field were huge and if we had been in one of these we would have been happier. The toilets and showers were clean and nicely decorated, although only 3 showers and 5 toilets (ladies) - 2 showers 3 toilets (mens) is not quite enough and there were queues at peak times. To be fair none of my family ever queued because we were not bothered about showers at 7.30am, and when the site is not so crowded this is probably enough. The site shop was well stocked and not overpriced as is often the case, and the owners were on hand throughout the day if needed. The site was quiet at night, but there was noise from 7.30am from some sort of yard next door with reversing lorries. We did enjoy our stay and would consider staying again as the pluses did outweigh the negatives and the kids made so many new friends they really want to go back.

We've just spent a very enjoyable week's camping at Mount's Farm. It's ideally located for exploring South Devon, (although there appears to be an accident blackspot on the A381 - twice in the week we were there, we were held up while the road was closed to deal with a serious traffic accident!) There is a slight slope to the site, and when we arrived the weather was very wet so the grass was rather waterlogged, so take your wellies. The shop stocks an impressive array of camping equipment in case you've forgotten anything, as well as papers (but get there early, they sell out quick!). There were only three showers in each block, but hot water was plentiful and free, and if you timed it right it was possible to get a shower without too much queuing. Queues for the two sinks in the pot wash were longer, although again, plenty of very hot water (take your marigolds). Facilities were very pleasant, with a vase of flowers and a nice print on the wall, and thorough cleaning every day. Not an issue for us, but I did notice that there weren't any swings etc for kids, which would have been a distinct disadvantage to me when I was a child, but there is a big field with a wendy house in it which I assume is meant for children to play in. It was great fun watching the bats in the evening, and the site, as others have said, benefits from the lack of nearby pubs and was very peaceful. You will need to drive to find somewhere to eat: there's a very nice Thai restaurant in Totnes, plus the 67 restaurant on the main street is highly recommended, though not open on Sunday evenings. All in all a very pleasant site.

Site is well placed for touring the beautiful south devon countryside and gorgeous beaches, such as hope cove. Facilities are good, although toilets / showers played host to plenty of spiders / moths and entrance became muddy when it rained due to being on slight grass slope. Were clean enough though. Owner is very friendly and around lots, shop is small but sells all the basics. Play area for children is small and basic so if your kids need alot of entertaining you might want to bring more! The field we were in had a marked slope to it which caused problems in the heavy rain we had - but that could have been due to hubbys pitching skills! Good value for money

Great little site, owner's were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble for them and the prices in their well stocked shop were very reasonable. We had 3 small children and there was plenty of room for them to run around and we were still be able to keep our eye on them, there was plenty of room on the pitch for tent and car. The only critism was the toilet block that was a little dated but I have seen far worse. I would strongly recommend to anyone with children and want a site that is quiet, we will certainly visit again in the future.

A fairly quiet site, with good reception / shop facilities that has plenty of bits and bobs to keep everyone quiet (no alcohol sold though) The town of Kingsbridge 2 miles away has a Somerfields supermarket for all the usual needs. The EHU supplied plenty of power for the cooler, kettle, toaster and CD player without tripping out. The only negative comment (constructive criticism) I have is that they could have mopped the shower / toilet block a bit more often as it quickly got wet, and wet floors quickly get dirty. Other than that - some great beaches nearby (we chose Thurlstone) and close enough to several large attractions including Wet and Wild at Paignton, National Aquarium at Plymouth and Woodlands Adventure park just up the road. Salcombe has lots of opportunities to take boat rides or even hire boats. We will use this site again, well done site owners!

A lovely rural site, very quiet with lovely views. Very welcoming hosts, good (if basic) facilities and a very handy shop! Thoroughly recommended if quite campsites are your thing. The surrounding area is also very rural, but close enough to civilisation for supper, etc.
