We thought this site was great, very basic but the price reflects this, £8 for a pitch with no electric, £10 with.
John was helpful when we arrived, and put us in a sheltered corner, he has had problems with kids so just mentioned to keep ours in order, which was fine and I can understand his concerns.
The showers weren't the greatest, and on the second morning they did stop working, you have to put 50p in the meter but it lasted ages, we don't know why the water went off, it wasn't just the shower, all the water was off. John let the kids in the pub in the evening so we had a beer and played scrabble, we ate in leyburn, but I'm sure there are other pubs around the area.
We went to the forbidden garden, although it was a rainy day the garden it quite covered but rather over crowded which spoilt it a bit.
Dont expect too much from the site, but we did like it and would stay there again, love the fact the pubs there!

Just spent 10 days at this site, 3 of us in 2 caravans. Site lovely, loads of room on each pitch. Only one loo and shower but very clean so not a problem.
Owners very helpful and friendly - would love to go back soon.
Very dog friendly so ideal for us with 2 westies and my little old collie.
Only 1 mile to Leyburn which has lots of pubs and takeaways and plenty to do in the surrounding countryside.
Have a visit to the Tea Pottery and Chocolate Factory in Leyburn and would recommend a ride on the Wensleydale Steam Railway.
Nearest big supermarket is Tesco at Catterick and there is also an Aldi or Sainsburys in Ripon.

Go and enjoy the company of John and Kath at the Pheasant,Harmby. They will certainly make you welcome and serve you a good pint of ale, with plenty of pleasant folk on the caravan site and in the pub. Good views and nearby locations. Also nice walks uphill or down dale. Only a short walk into Leyburn, or the bus if needed, to the market on Fridays or lots of shops to browse. Hope you enjoy this site as we do, it really is home from home for me. See you there?

Just got back from a cracking weekend in Leyburn. We 3 motorcyclists arrived Friday we were shown to our pitches then shown the facilities. Only one toilet, sink and shower but were spotlessly clean. Lovely level site with a small brook flowing by. No meals in pub but Leyburn an easy 15 minute walk away with good pubs, shops, takeaways etc. We were made very welcome by the owners and we had a nice night in the pheasant inn on Saturday. Will be back for another visit soon. Very happy campers

A nice small quiet site near Leyburn. The pub has a lovely old fashioned bar with a real fire. No food but good ale. Dogs are welcomed. Lovely couple, John and Kath run the site and are really great. There is only one unisex toilet and shower but its clean and nice. Nearby Leyburn has lots of pubs, a Chinese takeaway, 3 Indians and a chippy. There are several cafes and a couple of supermarkets in a really lovely old market town.
You will love this site if you want peace and quiet. Across the road from the pub there is a spectacular waterfall next to a nice footpath.
We have already booked a return visit.

This is a marvellous site with all you need, hookups, water, waste water disposal, and allows dogs, there is only one toilet and shower which are immaculately clean and there were no problems with queueing.
John and Kath who own the site and pub are lovely people, we got the warmest of welcomes, and had a marvellous time there with the coal fire burning and the good conversation with our hosts and locals. The pub does not do food but there are plenty of pubs, cafes and restaurants that do in Leyburn which is a ten minute walk from the site.
The area is quiet with plenty of walks and sights to see, and easy to reach villages.
This is one place we will be returning to, thank you both for a wonderful stay, just what we needed.

What a lovely little site - just behind a dog friendly pub and a very friendly couple running the site/pub. We were a bit wary cos the ground was soft and it's grass only, but John (the owner) came out with us, found us the best spot and put us on planks of wood. At only a tenner a night with electrics and views to die for, who can moan about only having one shower and toilet???? We will be visiting again and soon!

Just come back from another good weekend at this site. Would recomend this site to anyone. Quiet site behind the pub, 1 toilet and 1 shower, large pitches quite level. 1 mile into Layburn, plenty of shops, pubs with good food. Across the road to The Pheasant there is some fantastic water falls not to be missed. Both landlord and landlady are very pleasant and will tell you all about local area.

Stopped here for first time last week, and will return. Lovely location close to Bedale and Leyburn which have all local facilities. Site very well maintained and flat. Just one toilet and shower, basic but clean. The inn itself is lovely with a real fire and lots of character. John the owner/landlord is very friendly and helpful. Dog friendly too! Recomended.

This site is open all year round. Very clean, tidy and well maintained. Disagree about the comment on spacing, the distance between 'units' is amongst the greatest I have seen and am told far exceeds that recommended by CC.
Only one toilet and shower but both clean. Waste disposal adequate. No shop but the pub is well worth a visit even if just to look at the horse racing memorabilia. Nothing for children.
Plenty of walks, Leyburn 10 - 15 mins walk where you will find Co-Op, Fish & Chips, Indian & Chinese takeaways, Butchers, Newsagents & Cinema etc. Market each Friday.
Very friendly people and will definitely visit again
