Had another brilliant holiday at Slade again this summer. Lovely site, fantastic views and always great to catch up with Kate (the owner) and her family. A basic site, festival style portaloos, on a gentle slope, fantastic beach and by far the best site on the peninsula.
We go every summer and the kids love it too. Lots of people to talk to, friends to be made and children for our boys to play with. This place can be very chilled, relaxing and quiet but depending on when you go, can also be really buzzing, with hoards of kids running about til dark so not recommended for campers who like silence after 10pm and expect children to be seen but not heard.
Roll on Summer 2013 so we can all go play at Slade again!

Had a superb week at this relaxing campsite. The owner is friendly and keen to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Although this campsite is very much 'back to basics', I think that's what made it so special - proper camping !
The owner (and her children) collected rubbish daily and the toilets were always inspected and cleaned.
Views were amazing and other campers all friendly. Look forward to returning here in September !

I would agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviewers, that this is a beautifully located site with friendly owners. However, I seem to be the only one with a few niggles!
The toilets were really in a pretty bad state - blocked and smelly. We also found a a lot of dog poo close to where we had set up camp, so then we had to move to a different spot.
The campsite is also very small (3/4 acre) so you do feel a bit cramped - it's hard to find a spot with much space around it.
There were children playing noisily around our van, their football hitting the van a few times, until long after 9pm - not late by adult standards but for an exhausted 6 year old it was too much! This last fact was not of course the fault of the campsite owners but it was the last straw for us, so we only stayed one night.
I would say that this campsite would definitely not suit those who prefer a little privacy and seclusion from other campers. But we would definitely recommend the local beaches!

We had a lovely 3 night stay at this great little site.
The weather had been wet and windy before arriving so the field was wet and with a heavy loaded up vw it was a bit tricky manoeuvring but we stayed up the top of the field near the entrance (I believe we were save this pitch) and we were fine.
It is a basic site with portaloos at the bottom end of the field which is sloping from entrance to bottom but it is not enough to cause problems.
The views are what this site is about and the friendliness of it's owners.
We would certainly return when in the area.

Just returned from a wonderful down to earth campsite, this site does not need showers or flush toilets because it has the most wonderful views and the nicest chilled people I have ever met at a campsite, Kate and her family are helpful and welcoming,
The site is a short distance from Two beaches Slade bay and oxich, there's a nice cafe and shop at Oxwich,
We had lunch at the Oxwich Hotel and the food was excelent.
We will return to this site as it is now one of our favourite campsites

What a lovely campsite! Small, friendly, no frills and the most beautiful location.
We found the site easily, were greeted by one of the most friendly owners you could imagine, were made to feel really welcome. We were given the choice of anywhere on the field to pitch. There is a slight slope, but it's not steep enough to cause your airbed to slide around. There were 4 chemical toilets and a stand pipe for drinking water, all of which were clean enough to use without holding one's breath.
I think the welcoming attitude of the owner must attract a lovely sort of camper, we thought all the other families there were nice people (and how often can you honestly say that about a campsite?). Kate (the owner) was really kind, she brought us a piece of aloe vera for my husband's sunburnt head, and offered to let us tumble dry soggy sleeping bags in her house after our tent leaked, all this on a busy bank holiday weekend while she had a son in bed sick and the cattle to look after!
The 10-15 min walk to Slade Bay through flowery lanes was lovely. The local beaches are some of the best in the UK, especially 3 Cliffs Bay.
This is a really special site.

Another year over and we have an extremely long and fun filled season thanks to a very early spring and a pleasant hot spell later on. We have thoroughly enjoyed this season, it has been one of our busiest yet.
Next years diary is already filling up with regulars who want to come back and people who couldn't book this year because we were full.
Campsite Christmas in August was great fun and the kids thoroughly enjoyed those extra presents - we did get a few funny looks wearing Christmas Hats and singing carols around the campfire, with a decorated Xmas tree to set the scene.
I will remember the occasion this Christmas when we are up to our necks in cows after a 4am start. The season had a touch of sadness when we lost poor Ellie on August 2nd but I know she had a terrific time playing up the campsite with everyone, 15 years is a very good age for a 'working' dog.
Belle and Cannie really miss her and so do we. We have found a new campsite dog recruit in the way of Meg who is nearly 3 hopefully she will settle into the routine well.
Thank you to everyone who took time to write such positive reviews. We look forward to the 2012 season, welcoming back my campsite family and making new friends.
For those campers that are staying for a lengthy period or those who don't want to fill their car with food and provisions before setting off, Tesco and Sainsbury both deliver to the field. Just enter the postcode and await your supplies.

Stayed at the campsite on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Cracking location up the road from Oxwich with stunning views.
Kate and her boys are very friendly and the place has a laid back relaxed feel.
There are chemical festival type toilets at the bottom of the field and a tap for water and that's it but for me that is the appeal - its a great location that's quiet and chilled not one of these busy loud places with loads of caravans.
The Oxwich Bay Hotel is walking distance down the hill and there are great walks around the bay and access to the coves.
A hidden gem!

As mentioned before this is a basic campsite. Chemical toilets, tap and slight slope in a narrow field that can be tricky to find and difficult to drive to up a steep, narrow road.
However, I have never been to a site as this with such a wonderful beach 10 mins walk away. We spent all our mornings on Slade beach and it was never, ever crowded due to the almost secluded nature i.e. no car park or shops and the above mentioned steep road.
The sand is lovely, the rockpools are plentiful and the surf is good. We also took to walking to Oxwich bay, stopping halfway down the hill at Greenway Holiday Park for a drink before moving onto Oxwich Bay Hotel.
Final word about the owner, extremely friendly and there for you at all (reasonable) times. This seems to promote an neighbourly feeling amongst campers on this site so be warned, you may make new friends too!

This is a field, that is rather difficult to find. Once there, you will fast realise that it is the most basic site. The field is on a slope, with 'Portable loos' at the bottom.
One piece of advice, the left hand portable loo is the newest and cleanest! If it's raining, or been raining heavily, the field is very slippy, so try and get to the very top, where you're close to the gate and the rough track is full of stones, to help your traction. Neighbouring campers were friendly.
Facilities nearby were very bare. Nearest Tesco Extra was at Swansea, offering a fine selection camping items. Nice views, though.
