We stayed here again for the second time and will definitely become regulars. Even though it was short notice the very friendly staff made us welcome and couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. The facilities are basic but improving.
Trig point is so handy for all the local interests everything is just a short walk away.
There is a very nice cafe at the top of the hill which is very handy for breakfasts and the cod and lobster serve some very nice evening meals

Just spent Easter at Trig Point. This is an old army camp and the barracks are still standing so we had a few reservations at first site. These were soon dispelled by the friendliness of the the camp manageress who made us most welcome and could not do enough for us. We forgot our chairs, Not a problem within minutes, the manageress brought us two then half an hour later a patio set turned up in front of our camper. There is no shop on site but their is a general store which sells newspapers etc about 3 minutes walk away. The facilities are spotless, any amount of hot water, washing machine, showers and lounge area. No play area for kids though. Views are spectacular, A pub 2 minutes walk away, Chippy less than ten minutes away. We really could not fault this place. Staithes is beautiful. There must be some sort of cartel going on because all the eating houses stop serving food about 2. 00 and start again at 5. 30 Cod and Lobster is hectic and the food average. Cant wait to go back.

We have just returned from a one night stay at Trig Point and will definitely stay again. We did have reservations after reading some of the reviews on here, but we were very pleasantly surprised as the views are great and the site is very handy for everything, just a short walk down to the sea where we can recommend the Cod and Lobster pub for an evening meal (Including vegetarian options)The site still feels very private and remote even taking into account its proximity to everything.
The staff are very friendly and helpful and help to promote a very relaxed atmosphere.
The only real issue is the facilities they are basic but very usable, there was only one male and female toilet and shower which may be a problem at busier times.

Great site, nice relaxed atmosphere, no hassle, great views, basic but easily sufficient, clean, easy walking distance to town, pubs, beach etc, fantastic views. Toilets, showers, pot washing facilities all basic but adequate. The site itself, an old RAF camp, was lovely and gave a sense of 'going back in time'. Love it, would certainly go back again. Loved the laid back atmosphere here and the little gate in the corner of the camping field that has a lovely little path leading down into Staithes and gives great views of the rooftops !

We stayed at trig point 49 for a week. We have been coming to Staithes for the last 4 years and wanted a change.
The site is lovely and peaceful with wonderful views.
When we arrived the owner was extremely helpful especially after a stressful journey!
Yes, the toilets are basic but they were kept clean where possible but what do you expect considering the location!
The owner is a lovely lady and deserves a big thankyou for making our stay complete.
We will definitely be returning next year.

This is the second time this year I've stayed here and it's perfect. The site has real character and whilst the facilities are basic they are adequate. The showers of which there were 2 for males and 2 for females had plenty of hotwater. The views are amazing opening the tent to the sun over the sea. The site is well located for the small village of Staithes where there are 2 pubs. I'm sure we'll go back either late summer or next year.

We stayed 7 nights here and had a good holiday in our touring caravan. We had mixed views on the campsite:
Positives:
Great location, relaxed, good views and fabulous dog walks.
Negatives:
Directions to site poor - go through the car park if you are towing a caravan, the second entrance really isn't suitable for anything other than a car. Better signage needed, whilst the entrance stated ‘Trig Point 49’ – there was nothing to indicate that it was a campsite and once entered, it wasn’t clear where we should go thereafter. The only clear sign was at the toilets, unfortunately this was on the old toilet block that is no longer in use!
The office was closed on our arrival and we felt lost regarding where to park. When staff arrived they were very friendly.
On the whole the campsite felt neglected and is in need of TLC and someone committed to running a campsite. The female toilets were acceptable; however the mail toilets were very smelly. I believe there is planning permission for a new toilet block - not sure I would return until the new toilet block is in situ.
My parents and sister stayed at the B & B – fabulous! Would recommend B & B

We have just returned from a 2 night stay for my dads 70th birthday. We were camping and my parents were in the bed breakfast rooms on site.
First impressions of the camping field, basic, grass needed cutting, only one toilet and shower, clean but got very busy.
But open minds the view was spectacular an amazing position just a short stroll down to the beautiful Staithes.
The boys loved the beach, exploring the rock pools, catching lobster.
The Cod and lobster pub is a must great value.
The B+B rooms were luxury, the breakfast perfect.
Vanessa the manageress is a lovely lady very welcoming and full of local knowledge.
This is a site I would return and recommend, just be mindful its not glamping !

Stayed at this dreadful site. The area is great. The site is a joke. Booked and paid in advance and they didn't keep a spot. I ended up staying on the car park, great views of the coming and going of everyone. Letting any one who turned up just stay. A run down ex army base. Its a joke don't stay. The plus side the girl who was running it was great
