Nice site, easy access & easy to get to all other areas around Blackpool,
Only fault I could find is were we were pitched we could not get tv signal, pitch 7. Everyone in our row struggled & sat dishes also had no signal. Maybe there are plans to put tv in the bollards like other sites.
It didn't matter that much as the weather was brilliant & we spent 3 days & nights outside the caravan with the neighbours.
Toilet block immaculate as always. Whole site spotless. Will return again.

My first CC site visit. We used this site as a night stop on the way up to Scotland.
Wardens gave a very warm welcome upon arrival, and were very helpful in assisting us to set the van up - namely the clockwise twist that CC sites seem to have on their hook up points.
As most people have said, DON'T follow sat nav to this site, use the club book directions.
The pitches were a good size and well spaced. Although the site was busy and full it didn't feel crowded.
The toilet block, washing up and veg preparation areas were all heated and very clean.

I have only just joined the UKCampsites site so this review is a bit late. Sept 2010!
However, the Blackpool South Site is lovely - big pitches, good shower/toilet blocks & not too far out of Blackpool itself
We visited the horse rescue just down the road - very good & lovely to see the work they are doing there
Also, went to Funny Girls & obviously. The Pleasure Beach
Also, as we went end of September mid-week, we went through the illuminations without having to queue which was brill
Overall, would definitely recommend this site
We don't have children but there was a children's play area which looked very nice

This was a well kept site close to Blackpool, St Ann's and Lytham. We were there for a fortnight and enjoyed it all immensely. Site was busy but quiet as so many people were out for most of the day and though we were near children's play area we found no problems. The facilities were spotless and kept that way. We returned to this site in October for two nights for illuminations and were at other end of site but found no problems with this either. The roads around the site were busy but this posed no problems for us. There were so many facilities in Blackpool and surrounding area it was possible to do something different every day. There was a near at hand caravan shop for essentials though the site shop kept basics. The ground was hard for pegging but rock pegs went in no bother. We will return to this site as it was so handy for the motorway. The major change we would make might be to use some kind of metal screw peg to make things a bit easier.

A warm welcome upon arrival, weather not so warm we used this site as a night stop on the way up to the lake district.
Don't follow your sat nav use the club book for directions very clear to understand.
The pitches on this site are of a good size and well spaced out, the toilet block is very clean with plenty of showers and sinks, and the pot wash and veg preparation area is under cover.
The is a small play park for children which is well located in the middle of the park.
So to sum up if you are visiting Blackpool I recommend this site.
We did enjoy our time here all be it for one night.

This site is one of the best we have been too, the directions are spot on and so easy to find. Upon arrival we was a little earlier but the nice warden said it wasn't a problem just drive round and see what pitch you want and let me know. She told us where the grass areas where which is what we wanted, for our 3 little dogs. Well we found a super pitch near the play area and was nice and level with no problems setting up at all.
The showers, toilets etc were all nice and clean when ever we went to use them, the showers were lovely and hot, and plenty of them too. We was 5mins from the pleasure beach so that helped, we had a wonderful time and we will return to this super site.

Fourth trip for us this year. Quite correct about the sat nav, it sends you a mile out of the way. Best thing to do is ignore when it tells you to leave the motorway at Blackpool (North and St Annes) and carry straight on. Get in the left hand lane and at the roundabout (big steel statue on roundabout) take a left. Then go to next roundabout and at 11 o'clock go down Cropper Road 50metres turn left and you are there!
Site was good. You pick a pitch when you arrive so at 4pm on a Friday we had little to chose from.
Very quiet considering where the site is, very clean too.
Washrooms/washing up area good and staff were very helpful. You can book a paper for the following morning.
Shop is very basic but there are plenty of shops etc in Blackpool / Lytham etc.
Yes we would go again.

Postcode in the Caravan Club Sites book is incorrect so using Sat Nav is not a good idea. Consult the site book for directions from the motorway.
Site is very conveniently placed for access into Blackpool, surrounding areas and supermarkets. But the site is not rural and there is a fair amount of traffic noise, particularly if you pitch at the play area end of the site.
The equipment on the play area is small and basic and didn't amuse our 9 & 10 year old for long. The site does lend itself well to cycling for the kids though as it is flat and fairly open aspect.
Some pitches seemed quite small and I think the CC have maybe squeezed some extra pitches in on this site over the last few years.
No dog walk is awkward as the only place to walk the dog is the road outside the site which is narrow, has no pavements and a national speed limit. Every time you take the dog for a wee, you take your life into your hands.
Good walking about 40 mins drive away in the Forest of Bowland.
Lytham St Anns is nice for a stroll along the prom and the Toby Carvery there does a good meal.

Excellent choice of site for visiting Blackpool and surrounding area. Just off the M55 so really easy to get to. 10 minutes takes you into Blackpool centre. There are three supermarkets (Tesco Extra, Morrisons and ASDA) all within about 10 min drive.
Usual high standard of CC sites - unfortunately it's members only, but fortunately we are!
Very quiet site, but seems to have excellent play area for kids.
We were there at the time of the illuminations and found that the site was very well positioned for a drive onto the promenade, up through the illuminations and back, all within an hour - including a stop for chips (there are hundreds of places to choose from) on the way back to the caravan.

Stayed for the first time over a weekend. The site is located at the end of the M55 and very easy to reach.
Amenities are all of the standard you expect from the club, immaculate. Hot showers, heated toilet block, washing up and cooking preparation areas and chemical waste etc.
There was a small playground on site for the children who enjoyed the brief time they had playing on it.
All the pitches are hardstanding and generous in size with plenty of room between outfits (we didn't take the awning so can't comment on any difficulty with pegging). The site appears quite harsh with it's lack of grassed areas.
Blackpool sea front is a 5 minute drive with everything that Blackpool has to offer. And some interesting sights to behold with the ubiquitous hen and stag groups swaying along the pavements! We took the children to see the illuminations and the fireworks competition which were well worth the visit. There has been a lot of work to the sea defences and the appearance of the promenade, with plenty of it still ongoing, but it is a big improvement (I've not been for over 10 years) all in all a great place to visit but only in small doses!
We did not experience any problems with noise and would use this site again as a base for visiting Blackpool.
