The words peaceful, relaxing and very friendly describe this site perfectly we think. (Adults only) We have been twice now and have just booked again for summer 2014. The owners are great hosts and very helpful. They do this because they love to, simple as that, and you can tell. Its like camping in a little orchard but the trees among the pitches are small and pretty and well spaced so you can get lots of sun, and shade when you need it. There are all the usual facilities including a large kitchen with lots of space for washing up etc, and its in the basement down a slope (there is a hand rail) so tends to keep cool too, along with the showers and toilets. Hook ups are all around the site, and wifi is available at a very reasonable rate too. The owners take pleasure in arranging trips to the local vineyards, one of which is just a stroll into the village from the site. This we think is the best one and we have just finished the 20 litres we took home last year!(writing this in April 2014). Keeps for ages as its sold in boxes so is airtight, but its nothing like the boxes you get in Supermarkets in the UK. Oh No!. Its far superior! Well, it is the Anjou region after all. Then there's the communal BBQ if you want to join in, its up to you, with an area with tables and chairs to enjoy your meal with the friends you might have made. There is also a restaurant in the village which does beautiful food, we went down for lunch one day and had the plat-du-jour which was 4 courses and including ad lib wine we paid approx 11 euros each! Amazing value. Cycling and walking is easy for all ages as its pretty flat. Supermarkets like Super you are about 15/20 mins away by car and stock everything. The bread van comes around to the site in the mornings with various scrumptious loaves and of course a supply of excellent fresh 'pain au chocolat'! There is shade under the huge trees which edge the site area if you want to sit below them and relax out of the sun and watch the birds after a mornings walk along the lanes. We think this is the perfect place to either begin your tour around France or to finish it with as the relaxed atmosphere is perfect. Basically, we can't wait to get back there, but we're never in a hurry to leave.

What a lovely little site, (adults only) 8 pitches set in a small orchard in owners garden. The site is set in rural countryside, very peaceful, but only 20 mins from supermarkets. Our EHU cable was not long enough, but Dave kindly lent us one, (free of charge) for the duration of our stay.

There is a kitchen area in the basement of the house with fridge and washing up/veg preparation area, also down here is a shower room with wash basin and toilet and another with just wash basin and toilet, even though only one shower, never had to queue. Information leaflets and a selection of books to borrow. Baker calls in the morning with fresh bread & croissants.

Owners Kathy & Dave are a friendly couple who arrange local wine tasting trips where you can sample lovely wines, Kathy will bring back any purchases in her car, which was a bonus, saves carrying. They also arrange trips to local restaurants, where all campers can get together for lunch.

There is a communal BBQ area with seating under shade where Dave lights the BBQ and you provide your own food, great way to meet fellow campers, the odd game of boules can also be played.

All in all a great site, we will definitely be going back.

This was our 3rd France trip, we prefer small quiet sites (child free)and we were not disappointed by this site. Kathy & Dave's site is surrounded by vineyards, very quiet but still close to all the amenities you could ask for. Supermarkets such as Super U, Aldi and Lidl are within 20 minutes drive and the local village is only a few minutes away. The hosts lay on trips to local vineyards for wine tasting and there is the option to buy local wine if you wish. Kathy & Dave are a very friendly couple, very accommodating and willing to help with anything if they can. We spent 9 nights there and would not hesitate to return there again. This is a small 5 pitch site with showers and toilet facilities, laundry facility. We will definitely be going back!

What a gem. A peaceful lovely site with the nicest owners you could want. If you like peace, clean facilities, and friendly site owners at a reasonable price this is for you.

Kathy and Dave organise the odd BBQ. They light the fire and we all bring our own meat to cook and eat together. Kathy even offered a jug (or two) of wine to share. Then there was the wine tasting in a 'cave' five minutes away. A very generous hour where you could buy or not as you chose, after which we decided how glad we were to have a designated driver! Then there was a lunch shared at the local resturant.

You don't have to join in any of it, but we were certainly glad we did. Yes a gem of a place.

Camping Kathy & Dave is a very special site with many visitors returning annually. It's rural location amongst the sunflowers and vineyards is very peaceful.

It is a small site set in an orchard, the pitches are of good size and there is ample room to spread out either for sun or shade. The facilities are good, the bread van calls most days and wi fi is available.

Apart from the site itself, what makes this site so special are the hosts. Kathy and Dave are remarkable in their hospitality. They organise informal BBQs, wine tasting at a local vineyard and visits to local restaurants.

There is no pressure to join in but they make you feel so welcome you want to take part. The Olympics were on when we visited and Dave sorted us out satellite tv so we could watch in our caravan.

We hope to visit again with our dog Alfie, and would unreservedly recommend this site.

This is our fifth visit to Kathy and Dave's. If you want a peaceful, friendly, relaxing holiday then you can't do better than this. The hospitality is amazing. Kathy and Dave organize local winetasting, meals out and barbeques. However there is no pressure to do any of them and you can join in if you want to. The site itself is set in a small orchard with only about six caravan pitches. It is quiet and gives you plenty of space on your pitch to relax. With fields all around, all you see is the beautiful countryside and you can walk in the evening through vineyards.

The facilities on the site include a kitchen for the campers to use that is also excellent for storing your wine purchases! The wine from the area is excellent, including the red sparkling. The village of Tigne is small and quiet and has a lovely bakery, butchers and small restaurant with good food. There is a wonderful zoo nearby that is definitely worth a visit and plenty of other places to see. Highly recommend this friendly and welcoming site and will definitely be going again next year.

Perhaps we arrived at an off moment because despite booking, we were met with a very cool welcome and shown onto a very tight pitch and within minutes of getting out of the car, we were told it was ok if we didn't want to stay!

I'm sure this could have been a better experience as others have said, but 8 units on this site was a bit of a squeeze.

Access to the site was not the easiest as we had to do a 3 point turn (albeit on a very quiet lane) to get into the drive and after leaving the site, we had to reverse the caravan 150 metres back through the village when we met a large tanker.

This is a lovely area with good cycling and lots to see.
Management response: When this couple arrived I could see that they were not happy and gave them the opportunity to leave if they wished with no hard feelings whatsoever on my part. In their review this was used against me. One of the eight caravans mentioned was mine, parked on my drive waiting to go into storage. Incidentally, they asked if they could stay another night, but their pitch was already booked out.

If you want a pleasant site where you will be made more than welcome this is it. This is our 5th visit. The toilet and shower are kept spotless as are the plots. The baker calls regularly. All of the other facilities are within a short drive away. There is a lovely zoo in Doue la Fontaine, different to the usual zoo's you may have visited.

Good size pitches all flat with option for electric hook up, all seem to get sun most of the day. There is wifi available which is cheap & effective. Dave was very helpful with electric hook up as ours had an incorrect connector and he had a spare. The site is in a quiet location, and is good for cycling in the lanes as they were very quiet and there are lots of pretty villages. There was a shower room including a toilet and a separate toilet. We did not have to queue as there was a few caravans when we were there, and only a few tents, but if this was not managed correctly and there were more tents that could be an issue.

There was a small fridge for communal use. It did get full, even with the few tents that were there. Another fridge / freezer would have helped, and if there were more tents this would have been an issue. K&D let us use their local map to help navigate round the lanes which was very handy. The local wine tour which Dave took a few guests from the site on was good fun. No obligation to buy, but we all did. The only downside was some noise from dog over the road barking. All in all generally very peaceful, friendly, relaxing and good value for money

Pretty much all previous reviews accurately cover this site and its owners. Kathy and Dave are a very nice couple who go out of their way to make you welcome, though at the same time giving you space to do your own thing. Vineyard visits, local restaurant visits and a get together in their own bar all made for a pleasant experience. The site is situated in a tranquil area of the Loire Valley, but central for touring the region. Supermarkets within 5 miles of the site. Small and cosy with essential WiFi at 2 euros per night and a reduced rate for longer stays. Pitches are the same all season at 14. 50 Euros per night for 2 people with 6 amp electric

It was a wonderful holiday and we stayed 13 nights instead of 5 as we had intended, so must be good!
