We were given a very warm welcome and shown a variety of pitches. We chose a central one to enable us to get a lot of sun, which would have been good if it had appeared a little more often!

The site is clean, the showers spacious with plenty of wash basins. There was never any queuing although the temperature in the showers and duration varied greatfully. Generally the other people on the campsite were quiet and respectful. The children's' play area is typical C and C, but got very muddy when it rained. The children, however, enjoyed cycling to the beach and the shops as well as around the campsite.

Africa Alive was a superb day out and I wish I had not paid with Tesco vouchers, then we could have gone back using the £3 offer, but we made the most of our day there anyway. The Livingstones pub serves great food and we had read reviews telling us that the service was very slow, we were just happy to wait. The beach is satisfactory and about an 8 minute bike ride, 30 minute walk. We also visited Dunwich Heath as well as Oulton Broad and Lowestoft.

Morrisons is 5 minutes by car up the A12 towards Lowestoft.

We would return to this site if returning to the area.

The only negative that I had was I felt that one caravan was pitched too close, not their fault, but the wardens. However the pitches are generally spacious and there is green space left over.

All in all a good stay.

A lovely site with very friendly staff. A very relaxed atmosphere.

Super little on site shop. Clean ablutions. Hot water all day long.

We had a downpour but no problems with drainage.

Morrisons up the road.

The site was full, but it was very quiet. The children played in the play area and there were lots of smiley faces.

There is nothing bad to say about this site and we will return

Just came back from a really lovely stay at kessingland, wow staff friendly and very helpful, shower block was lovely and clean, little shop on site and if you wanted to they would order in your choice of paper, they sold eggs, milk, bacon ect, and sweets and drinks for kids, there is a park on site to keep littles going all day long, lowerstoft is not to far and if you want a really nice lunch or evening meal go to the jolly sailers ! food is 5* and very good on price ! Not one bad word to say about this campsite ! Glad we found it and will be back for sure, thanks for a lovely stay x

A lovely site with very clean facilities. Always loads of hot water and good washing up room.

We stayed here at the May bank holiday and had such a great time! The Africa Alive safari park/zoo next door is a really great place for a day out. Our daughters (9, 7 and 4) loved it! And for about £3 extra per adult you can come and go throughout your stay.

We visited the boot sale on the Sunday morning and the kids all found plenty of bargains.

The site had lovely friendly staff and there is also a nice little kids play area too.

There are a couple of large wind turbines directly next to the site, they make a constant soft whooshing noise similar to a plane. This noise didn't bother us at all. On the subject of noise you can hear the animals from the zoo and we thought this added to our stay as the kids liked to guess the animals they could hear (Lions being the favourite!)

The surrounding area was also useful with a large morrisons and mcdonalds near by that was handy for lunch after we packed up on our last day.

So all in all a lovely friendly site in Suffolk with plenty to do with a family.

We had a very pleasant stay over the bank holiday weekend.

The site is well run by the wardens, who go out of their way to to provide a good humoured friendly atmosphere at the site.

The toilet block was kept very clean and the showers have large cubicles and plenty of warm water. There was no need to queue for showers as the site was only partially occupied. I would suspect that the facilities might be stretched if the site was full. All the facilities, showers, dish washing, laundry and reception are at the top end of the site, while the children's playground is at the bottom end.

The pitches are well spaced and generally flat on a site that slopes gradually from north to south.

The two wind turbines are on the east and west sides of the site and are about 120 metres in height. The nearest turbine is on the east side. We found this very graceful to watch on occasion and didn't find the noise a problem at all. In fact we find road noise far worse because you soon get used to the gentle hum of the turbine blades. The noise is similar to an aircraft flying high overhead when windy and almost silent when the wind drops a bit.

We cycled to Southwold from the site using country lanes. It was about 11 miles using the back roads which while safer than using the A12 would not be suitable for young children. The route takes you west to Rushmere then down the B1127 to Southwold.

There is plenty of other activities to do in the area as mentioned in the previous reviews.

The wifi is currently £2 per day up to 500MB.

A nice clean site, friendly & helpful staff.

The site is on the way into Africa live and has a deal to allow for unlimited access for your stay at a bit extra cost on the daily entrance fee to the attraction. If I had young kids this would have been very good.

My only moan was the toilet shutting down from 10:30 to 12:00. They could clean the gents then the ladies, then the family room. This would reduce the load on the disabled toilet that is open to all to cover this period.

There is some noise from the Africa Live’s animals and the wind turbine.

We are not club members and although we have been camping since 1992 and caravanning since 2006 we have never joined a club, I was not inspired to join.

We had tea at the Sailors Home next to the beach and the food was good, beer cheap and allowed Dogs in the bar.

Another great site from the C & C Club. Kept immaculately clean and tidy. We only stayed a weekend. Had some noisy dogs barking for hours but the site wardens addressed the problem. Well done to them for such helpful and friendly service. Pegging wasn't as tough as some reviews said. Sadly the local pubs are dire but that's no fault of the site. The best we found was the 5 bells on the B1127 towards Southwold. About 4 miles from the site. Wind turbine can be slight nuisance to some people but others may just get used to them.

This was our first camping trip with our 4yr old son. We were delighted with the site it had every thing we could need. The staff were very helpful and the facilities were very clean (day and night).

The site itself is a perfect distance from so many facilities, parks, beaches, boating, the list is endless.

My only disappointment with this site is they have family wash rooms which are ideal for the whole family to use with kids, but not all of them were open. If they were to keep all of them open I would say that this is a perfect family site for anyone with kids, and would rate full stars in every aspect.

I will be going back to this site and would recommend it to anyone with kids.

Just come back from an excellent two week holiday at the kessingland c & cc site. This is the second time we have been to this particular site and I have to admit that is one of the best sites we have been on.

The toilets and showers are always immaculate and all the wardens have always been pleasant and willing to help.

Don't be put off by reports of excessive noise from the wind turbines in the adjoining fields as you soon get used to the rhythmic whoosh from the blades and really you soon forget that they're even there. One of the more stranger noises is the sounds coming from the nearby Africa Alive wildlife park, the distant roaring of the lions and calling from the exotic birds on a hot August night makes you think that you could be camping thousands of miles away on some African savannagh, it really is quite relaxing to listen to, sure beats car engines and mopeds any day. Also if you pay the full admittance fee into Africa Alive and show them your receipt from the campsite then for an extra £3 per person you have unlimited access into the park free of charge for the entire duration of your stay on the site, ideal for taking the kids

if its a poor day as they have an indoor discovery centre and wacky warehouse/ball pool place in there,

on sunday mornings there is also a massive car boot sale in one of the fields behind the campsite, not everyone's thing but we loved going and the kids ended up bringing more junk home, its a great place to pick up emergency repair items for your caravan or tent as there are plenty of stalls selling DIY hardware, ideal for the blokes to mooch over.

The town of kessingland is only very small but it has not been spoiled by the brash amusement arcades and hotdog stands that seem to blight every other coastal town, the beach is huge and made up of shingle, probably why it stays so quiet, great for flying kites with the kids and evening bbq's, it even has a free carpark which is pretty rare these days.

There are a few pubs in the village which serve food and there is a local convenience store, ideal if you run out of something although there is a big Morrisons about ten minutes drive away.

The site is close to the town of Lowestoft and about 45 minutes from Great Yarmouth, both great days out, the nearby town of Southwold is also a good day out and has a sandy beach that goes on forever.

All in all this is a cracking campsite which I would recommend to anyone and one which we will book again, I only wish we lived a little closer as the 4. 5 hrs trip from yorkshire makes weekend trips out of the question.

Lovely Site, Friendly Staff, Clean Toilets, Friendly campers. What more could you want?

I love hearing the sounds of the lions and exotic birds drifting over from Africa Alive which is next door. You do also get the sound of Jungle Drums during the afternoon shows. As to any noise from the wind turbines, didn't really notice them!

It is quite a walk down to Kessingland beach, but there are better beaches in Lowestoft, Those with children may wish to visit Pleasurewood Hills theme park at Corton just north of Lowestoft. Others may wish to go to the East Anglian Transport Museum at Carlton Colville, which has an excellent collecion of preserved buses, trams and trolleybuses.

Sunday morning we took a stroll round the next door car boot, with our winnings from the weekly flower fund raffle!
