Firstly the site is a lovely little place to pitch a tent or park up. Ground level and well kept. The facilities are rustic and basic but if you want perfect bathrooms then stay in a hotel.
There's a certain charm to them I think. The owner was so friendly and couldn't do enough for us and was a real laugh. The children loved the tree house, swing and tractor and there is a stream nearby perfect for a bit of net fishing, paddling or to dunk the dog.
It is by a minor road so would need to be mindful of children and animals. The site is close to Wareham and other tourist attractions are easy to get to.
We will be returning as it will be like visiting a friend rather than staying at a business.

Stayed here for August BH as everywhere else full. Great location and flat level site.
Only downside was the shower and toilet facilities very dirty and basic only one sink in the men's women's the same, hardly room to move when more than one in there.
But the worst bit was they were filthy cobwebs and dead insect everywhere would not pass any health inspection.

We had a lovely 5 nights at this site. We chose this site because it was available and reasonably priced with good facilities. As soon as we arrived we realised that we had made a good choice. The site is set in a lovely location - is nice and flat - with plenty of hook-up's around the edge and in the middle.
The site is tidy and well maintained. There is a unit with toilets and nice warm if slightly cramped showers (which are free). There are recycling facilities, sheltered washing-up area and a decent chemical waste disposal area.
The owners look after their guests and allow people to have BBQ's (off ground) and also the option to hire fire baskets with logs which helps on the cold summer evenings (for campers).
The location gives access to go to Wareham or Swanage easily - or south to Lulworth. It is very near to Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum which are both worth a visit. Although we didn't head this way it is also only 14 miles from Weymouth - we will save that for another year though.
Only addition I would make to the camp would be some picnic tables! Everything else is great.

Just got back from a lovely weekend at Mill Paddock, we were so lucky to get in on a relatively sunny bank holiday and the owners went to a good deal of trouble to contact us to let me know there was space and make a special trip down to give us a fire pit and logs when we arrived. Great to be able to have a proper fire.
Considering it was bank holiday and full there was still loads of space around and you did not feel squashed in at all.
Added bonus of a kids play area that wasn't mentioned anywhere on the site description, a tractor, rope swing and tree house simple but effective. Very safe to run around, we have a three year old and felt very happy to let him run and cycle round the site.
The only 'negative' and its more room for improvement was the toilets/ showers. I know its not a full time site and considering that they were pretty good and very clean but the showers were just a bad design. You either need to take both up and use one for changing and one for showering or show yourself to anyone else using the toilets. No were to hang your clothes or towel other than outside the showers so again modesty was not an easy option. Would be very simple to solve and would be great if they did.
Great campsite, we would definitely go again - maybe next weekend!

We spent 6 nights on this lovely site.
The ground is level so no concerns with boggy areas during the heavy rain!
The location is ideal with many attractions near by already mentioned in other reviews.
Positives:-
Location
Small site
Separate area for the children to play ball (a very big plus for me having stayed at bigger sites and had balls banging against the tent)
Being able to hire a open fire pit.
Quiet (apart from the odd cow or sheep and train)
Facilities kept clean by regular visits from the owners.
Many hook ups (though I don't use them)
Plenty of free hot water
Very reasonable prices
Negatives:-
The toilets and showers are situated in a converted horse box - a great idea but not very big. There are three toilets for women and the same for men, a very small sink situated next to the entrance to the showers. There are two showers for each gender, but they are so close together within the one cubicle (opposite with about 1 foot between) so in order to get into the shower you have to put modesty aside and go naked in front of your fellow campers.
It was not too much of a problem for us as there were only four other tents on the site, but with the capacity at full I can imagine this would be a little problematic if you are shy.
Be prepared for beasties in the toilets as the lights are on all night and attract the usual friendly daddy long legs etc - not a problem for us - but maybe for others (but again all part of the camping experience in my view)
Overall we loved this site and would return, but only if upon arrival the site was half full. I don't think it could cope with 35/40 pitches. I feel 30 more realistic for full capacity.
The village of Wool was about 2 miles away with a good sized Spar, a bakers, and a great Chinese take away.
In reality my view this site is what camping is all about for me - a small family run site, with basic CLEAN facilities, a very relaxed atmosphere with the owners making sure everything runs smoothly making appearances 3/4 times a day - if you want a home from home facilities then stay at home!

I stayed at the Mill Paddock, East Stoke, Wareham Campsite over the Weekend, 24th to 26th June 2011 with my Son; we were attending a Parish Camp organised event.
The location is wonderful and really quite rural, the adjoining fields & woodland were tranquil and I felt at ease with my Son playing in these surroundings with his friends.
The Camp site owners were both very friendly & attentive to any requirements that we had, the toilet & shower facilities on site were ideal & seemed to be cleaned on a regular basis.
The nearby stream & walks were picturesque, the Weekend was fantastic & I would certainly recommend this Campsite to any users of this site, without hesitation.

I have used this site about six times. This year we ran a 'rally' at this site for 19 units comprising a mix of tents, folding campers, motor homes, trailer tents and caravans. In fact all types of unit are accepted.
The site is level, peaceful and well away from main roads. Having said that, you can tow along the approaching country roads without problem. Plenty of room to accommodate all units, with more than enough room left for us to have a rounders/its a knockout area and then some.
Children are safe and can be seen from wherever on the site you are. There is a shallow river within 200 yards (separated from the site so the kids cannot just wander into it), with a gently sloping bank. Ideal for toy boat building and racing competitions or for the kids to catch minnows and paddle
Footpaths through the beautiful countryside run from right next to the site. Plenty of hook ups, clean toilets and showers, washing up and chemical disposal points. Fire baskets and logs are available to hire.
The very helpful owners are always around but do not intrude on peoples privacy. BBQs allowed. Pubs and decent sized Spar in nearby village of Wool. (Recommend The Black Bear). Monkey World and The Tank Museum nearby and worth a visit.
Beaches easily accessed by car. Recycling on site. I have been before and will be going again. Whether you are a couple, a family or a large group or Rally, this site is a little gem. Lets hope not too many people discover it!
Although only generally open during August, I understand a decent sized group or 'rally' can be negotiated at any time.

We are new to camping and after spending 3 nights on a large scale site we were not sure what we would find and wow we were very pleasantly surprised.
It is a very peaceful site with good toilet and shower unit and room for kids to play without worrying about them getting run over. The site owner is back and forth lots to keep an eye on how clean things are kept and is a very friendly lady.
We will deffo be booking trips back there in 2011.

Good Points : Lots of space between tents, camp fires allowed (fire baskets can be hired along with logs at a reasonable cost per night), dog friendly, good value for money, good location nearest Spa shop in wool around 5 mins in car.
Grumble points: Toilets and showers could do with a bit of modernisation as currently they are in a converted horse box but they were cleaned constantly, campsite is only open during August to the general public would be good if it was open during other times.
Overall this is a good little campsite and if you are after peace and quiet and basic facilities then this is what you will get. Owners are particularly helpful and are always around on site to assist even in thunder storms. Would recommend this site and will be going back again.

I have just returned from a weekend at Mill Paddock And we were extremley happy with the site, we had a dog with us and it was dog friendly, you weren't on top of each other it was lovely. The washing facilities were basic but clean and adequate for what you require. Water lovely and hot.
The owner was always on site and happy to help in any way and they were always cleaning.
Pubs, shops, and local attractions close at hand, the owner gave us a list of local amenities which was great.
I wish they were open longer in the summer as would've loved to go back in September.
Recommend it with lovely surroundings.
