Excellent quiet site just above town on outskirts, spent previous night wild camping at calgary bay car park as sign at entrance to campsite said no room for motorhomes that night.
Surprised at wide range of facilities on offer for campers, statics, motorhomes etc. Wifi enjoyed by my son and wife, 2 toilet blocks plus extra portaloos around site. Only 1 shower per sex but in process of creating extension to existing shower block. Wee camping bothy for shelter, relaxing, reading etc in camping area.
Dishwashing area just needed a wee tidy up, which I did wiping down, throwing out range dodgy sponges, recycling left over items, sometimes don't wait for others to do.
Liked that on arrival motorhomes/campervans park at sign and when go to speak to reception over bridge they can see what types of unti you have and direct you accordingly. All Motorhomes park in entance area, over the bridge only campers and statics.

Tobermory Campsite caters for all kinds of campers - tents, caravans, campervans, motorhomes and statics are all on site. The site is will laid out with an area for each of these. One major criticism which I saw from earlier reviewers is the lack of toilet and shower facilities.
There is only one shower per gender, and given that the site might have 20 tents and 10 campervans during peak season (such as when we were there), this does mean queues are likely.
They had heeded earlier bad reviews about the number of loos by adding a toilet block (so there's now 2 permanent loos per gender) and providing a number of portaloos around the site, but long-term they really need to do something about this if they are going to continue to allow campers who don't have those facilities on-board.
That said the site is pretty, with a little river running through it, and it's out of the hustle and bustle of the town. It does lack views somewhat but was convenient enough.

Stayed s whole week in August in a static caravan.
Caravan was very well organized and was us for our stay in Mull.
We had 2 small bedrooms, a kitchen with dinning table and a living area. Out side there is a small area and a picnic table. The caravans are close to each other so don't expect a lot of area for children to play around.
We are used to stay in a tent where you have lots of space to run around and you meet a lot of people, so this was missing yet, with Scottish weather the prospect of a roof above our head and a dry warm place to pass the rainy days was very welcome
Tobermery is just 5 min drive away, where you can find lots of places for food and a supermarket, there is also a cub you can use to get there and back

I'm surprised no-one's reviewed this site in the last 2 years! So, as we stayed very recently I'm writing a review.
I e-mailed to check availability for 2 nights several weeks before our planned holiday and was told that yes, space would be found and to arrive before a certain time (5pm I think) to ensure this. As our plans changed slightly over our 2 weeks we phoned from the Calmac office in Craignure (we had no mobile signal) to see if we could book in a day earlier and for 3 days - this wasn't a problem.
We arrived earlier than their check in time but Angus spotted us and we were quickly allocated a pitch with hook up (on grass, but the ground was firm) by the stream flowing through the site. This gave us a really good head start in setting up and putting our awning up and making the most of the rest of the day!
Larger motor homes and caravans (as well as camper vans) are mainly sited on the gravelled hard standing area and it looked like more pitches for motor homes were being dug out.
We walked into Tobermory once pitched and settled - it's about a 25-30 min walk. We managed to get the last table for the 5. 30pm sitting at Cafe Fish - a MUST if you enjoy seafood! Angus had recommended a local taxi (Chris's Taxi, I think) so we got a taxi back, avoiding some of the uphill trek. As another couple were already in the taxi and also going to the campsite we were only charged £3. Otherwise, I think it would have cost £5.
There is only 1 shower per sex and I did have to queue. When I came out, more people were waiting. I don't know if there's any scope to expand and add a 2nd shower? We used the toilet block in the tent field as this was nearest to us, although there were a couple of portaloo's in the motorhome/caravan area.
The tent field had a fairly large shelter with books/toys, a fridge and power points as well as seating. The washing up area was also in this area. I felt that the washing up area let the site down as it was small and felt cramped and the water didn't run very hot. It was also grubby looking with several used cloths and old sponges just left above the sinks. Maybe this is something they can update and improve upon for next season?
One thing to be aware of (which we didn't encounter at our other 2 sites on Mull, or on Skye) were the midgies and other biting nasties one night! I guess the fact it was warm, still (no wind) and we were by a stream brought them out in force. We ended up with quite a few bites, despite covering up. Make sure you have plenty of midge repellent (Avon Skin So Soft and Smidge)!
The site also has several static caravans for hire as well as 3 huts.
I've not rated on child friendliness as we're a couple with no children.

We camped here for 6 nights and were very happy with everything. We chose the site to be a bit sheltered, which worked fine.
There is a shelter on the campsite area with table, chairs, fridge and kettle; all provided to help backpackers and cyclists, plus others of course. There are power points in here too, very useful for phones etc.
The toilets are fine, as are the showers, there is only 1 shower per gender and 2 toilets, but it all worked ok whilst we were there.
The owners are working hard to provide more space for campervans which are very popular up there.
All facilities in nearby Tobermory, endless exploring to do. We saw Sea Eagle, Golden Eagles, an Otter and loads of other birds without paying for special trips. Iona is worth a visit, particularly if you walk to the sand beaches, very beautiful.

A small, sheltered site 20 minutes walk from Tobermory. Only one shower and two toilets for each sex but at this time of year we never needed to queue. A couple of small grass areas for camping so don't expect too much privacy. No views as surrounded by trees.
Facilities clean and tidy, owner very welcoming and we enjoyed our stay. There is even a shelter for cooking and socialising. Ideal spot for exploring the North of Mull.
The Co-op in Tobermory is well stocked and the bakery does excellent cakes. Try the chocolate too. The fish restaurant at the far end of town is worth a visit.

We moved here from the site at Fidden Farm in the south of Mull after listening to the forecast for gale force winds- it is lovely and sheltered in the main tent area, surrounded by trees and with a burn alongside.
The covered seating area with electric charge points and a fridge/freezer make life much more pleasant in poor weather, and the showers/toilets were clean and tidy.
We'd stay here again, other campers were very friendly and it had a lovely family feel.
It's location is really well suited to exploring the northern half of the island, and although within walking distance of Tobermory is very peaceful and quiet.
There weren't even many midges!

A lovely little site on the beautiful isle of mull, it is set in a fab location, keep your eyes peeled for golden eagles circling overhead!
The site owner was friendly and helpful, pitches were spacious and there are several 'shelters' which can be used by those in tents for cooking, eating etc if the weather isn't great.
Electric hook up, waste water and chemical toilet disposal available.
Campervan pitches nice and level with high fencing/screening on two side which makes a great windbreak for bbqing, toilets and showers lovely and clean and hot but only one shower on the side we were on which meant a bit of a wait in the morning,
All in all a lovely reasonably priced site would visit again if on mull.

Really nice campsite. It was fairly quiet but still a few tents for this time of year. The price is very reasonable for the excellent facilities. Showers and toilets very clean, nice hot water.
Where it is there are no views but because it is sheltered by trees it is better for tents, usually in Scotland in September the wind gets you. I had a look at the stands for vans and they looked fine as well. The owners were pleasant but not intrusive.
Best site on Mull if not the best site in the immediate area around the mainland. Apart from Seaview campsite at Benderloch which is on a par.

We had a good week at this site and enjoyed visiting many places on Mull and also went off to Inverness and Loch Ness for one day - it was a bit of a long day out but well worth it.
The site was well run and at very reasonable price compared to other sites on the main land that would have charged considerably more, anything up to £750 or more at this time of year.
Looking forward to going again at some time in the future and would fully recommend this site
