Small site, but with only a few pitches available for motorhomes. There are 6 pitches at the top of the site, close to the road, and shielded from the road by some basic fence panels. So there's no view to speak of.
It's 1 1/2 miles from Tobermory, all uphill and mostly along country roads with no footpath. So it's difficult to get use of being based close to the pretty port.
Toilet and shower facilities were clean, but only seem to consist of one toilet and one shower.
It's alright as a stop-over, but I found it a bit disappointing as the closest site to tourist draw to Tobermory.

Warm welcome from Angus the owner. Lovely campsite with a small stream running around the edge.
Toilets and showers were immaculate, in lovely order and very clean. Good covered dish washing area and recycling area.
Used for 5 days as a base and covered the whole island including a trip to Iona.
Calgary beach is not far and is stunning, great for kids swimming, good barbecue facilities and public toilets.
2 min in car into Tobermory for all shopping, food, dining out etc.
Will definitely use again!

Tobermory camp site is about 1. 5 miles out of town so quite a long walk and up hill on the way out of town. So the pub where we had lunch suggested a taxi back! (We walked!)
Motor homes are placed in a separate section which looks like a recent addition. Access from the main road is at the second entrance and I would recommend you use this and walk back to reception to avoid a difficult right turn over the in side bridge (7 m long motorhome).
This area is a bit bleak and gravelly, with a suburban wood fence to screen the motorhomes from the tent overspill area and the road.
Toilets and showers are very clean with real hand towels! But only one shower for each sex is daft and a bit grim when you've paid £26. 00 for one night. Expect to queue more than at other sites.
Another issue is water: Big signs warning that the water supply has failed a test and there are only two locations where there is a safe filtered supply. So having got the motor home parked you then have to move it again to get water as the tap in the motorhome area does not have filtered water.
For the kids, nothing other than the river through the site. But lots of Balamory spotting in town, so ok.
In short, fine for a one night stop over, but as a place to stay for a whole holiday there are better more scenic places.

We stayed for 3 nights. We found the owner Angus, very helpful & friendly.
The site is well kept & clean. There is a tent only field near to the entrance & office. A further grassed area for tents, caravans & motorhomes. Also a relatively new hard standing area with electric hook-up for 6 campers/motorhomes.
If using an awning in this area you will need heavy duty pegs. There is a toilet block with ladies & gents with toilet, wash basin & shower in each.
A second block is available but without showers. Although this has a dish washing area.
Tobermory is about A 15min walk down hill. There are restaurants, bars & shops. Also a Coop shop for any provisions needed.
We would recommend this site for a quiet relaxing stay and would return.

We stayed here for just one night. It was great as a stopover. We were able to choose our pitch, hard standing with hook up.
There only appeared to be one shower for ladies and one for gents, so I'm guessing this may be an issue when the site is busier. The showers etc were spotless and free! There was even free use of a hairdryer in the ladies.
It was a perfectly good site for our one night stopover.

This is a lovely little site, about 20 minutes walk up the hill from the main town of Tobermory. The owner is very friendly and although the site was quite full while we visited, there was ample space between tents and plenty of room to park on the hard standing next to the tent field, so no churned up mud - the site is nice and flat too. Everyone staying at the site was friendly, polite and considerate, no noise problems - we had a little plot of land to ourselves for us, our 4 children and 2 dogs - perfect. The stream runs past the washing up area, which was lovely. The local council had put up notices about having to boil the water before drinking, which was slightly inconvenient, but we bought bottled water from the Co-op in the town.
There was a rope swing on the tree that the children loved, but this is a pretty, natural, small site with no other play area equipment.
There was only one shower for gents and one for ladies, but I only had to wait once in the four days I stayed there and there were never any queues for the toilets, which were always extremely clean. Another shower might be a good idea though. I would recommend this site, if you are looking for a quiet, peaceful relaxing stay.

Stayed for 1 night as bike touring. Decent basic site, sheltered. No problems with queueing for the facilities--I think there may have been more than the 1x for each gender others have remarked on. On the site's website it mentions a 'midge magnet', but there were still plenty of the beasties on my visit!
A word about the drinking water: the advice to boil is standard wherever an establishment's source is direct from the hills, it's perhaps a legal requirement rather than serious concern about safety. As a 30something healthy outdoors person, I've never bothered, but obviously individual circumstances may warrant more caution.
Tobermory is rather lovely: highlight must have been the chocolate shop, which does a good hot chocolate made from their product.

Newdale campsite is located a 20 to 30 minute walk out of Tobermory up a steepish hill. The site has a nice field for tents next to a little stream and hardstanding for motorhomes. We thought it would've been tricky to get in with a caravan.
The site was very quiet and we received a warm welcome. I would think the facilities would be stretched in peak season. There are 2 blocks. The main block has one shower and one toilet for men and the same for women. There is an additional block on the camping field that has washing up facilities with hot water and one male and one female toilets. We didn't queue but the site was very quiet. They were spotless though and even though they were small they were well thought out.
The weather was stunning whilst we were there. We went on the sea life surveys whale watching tour which at £65pp for a 6 hour trip was an excellent treat to see whales, sea eagles, seals and plenty of birds too.
Tobermory is a very quaint town, we had a lovely meal in the restaurant next to Ginos and a taxi back up the hill only cost £4 and the Mull taxi service takes dogs too.
Would thoroughly recommend site especially at £6 pppn

Peaceful sheltered site just outside Tobermory, excellent for use as a base to tour the north part of the island. Used camping field by the bridge next to the stream, Ground was quite muddy but OK, you can,t park your car next to your tent so you have to carry everything to your pitch. The shower and toilets are kept very clean, Washup point is really good.

Angus the Owner was excellent. He even lent my inlaws a spare sky digibox for use whilst we were there.
No views but we were pitched very close to a fast running stream. Great in the summer but too many midges for us. The weather was awful, heavy rain everyday, not Angus fault. The gents toilet block had one toilet and one shower. They were clean but there is vast room for some improvement. An extra shower and toilet would not go amiss. There is another gents toilet in the other field.
The chemical waste and grey water disposal point needs upgrading. Just a manhole cover over the mains sewer. I was unlucky enough to see someones poos float by! A tap for rinsing would also be a good idea.
At £14.00 a night in the height of the summer it was overall good value for money.
