A lovely site. Very clean. Brilliant shower/toilet block, very clean, warm, nice hot showers and a hairdryer. Washing up area also very clean and tidy, it's in a room so if the weather is bad you are out of the elements. There are tv aerial points to plug into so the bad reception is not a problem. Noise from the road not a problem. Pitches plenty big enough. We have a twin axle and awning and all fitted fine including the car. Wardens very pleasant. Would definitely come again The dog walking area was very large and clean when we visited. There are waste bins provided. This site is ideal from touring the areas around Poole, Swanage and lulworth cove. Would definitely return.

Used this site as a one night stop over as we were stopping at the nearby haycraft site for a week.
Seems nice enough, lots of pitches to choose from & still using the grass ones as well.
The road by the site though unmarked on the map, is very busy & pitches nearby must have a fair bit of road noise.
Facilities seem usual cc standard & the site is within wareham forest.
A nice enough site all the same & only the road noise & the fact there are no views made me mark the site down slightly.

Another lovely stay at Hunters Moon, two weeks with our grandchildren and dogs. What a lovely place, with great facilities and a great play area.
Lots of walking in this district and all the info you need from the friendly wardens or in their well stocked information room. Recently refurbished toilet block is wonderful, with lovely showers and loos!
Weather was a bit mixed but it's been like that all over I suppose.
Wareham, which is a couple of miles away is a nice little town with many traditional pubs, restaurants and shops with quite a lot of Saxon history thrown in for good measure.
The river which is at the heart of Wareham has boat trips most days in the summer and whenever the tide is right you can journey into Poole and back or one way if you wish.
This area is a great place to begin your exploration of Sunny Dorset and we have been visiting for many years.

This is our second visit to Hunter's Moon. We arrived about 10. 30 and were told that there is no admittance until 12noon. Actually we were quite pleased because many sites we go to allow others to book in early and as we usually arrive at noon we feel cheated, so well done for sticking to your guns!
We parked up the road in a very nice picnic / forestry area so no problem.
The wardens are very nice and helpful. Shower block is clean and modern and pitches quite large. We stayed for 4 nights and found lots to do.
Visit Lulworth Cove - its gorgeous. We caught the train to Weymouth from Wareham and found the B. R. Staff so helpful.
Corfe castle is good and you can catch the old steam train to Swanidge which is a lovely seaside town. [Train fare expensive at £11 return each}
Will definitely return.

We found this to be an excellent site with good facilities, situated in Wareham forest. Noise on site was minimal, except for one night when there was the sound of gunfire (there is a tank museum nearby and areas of land where army manoeuvres takes place), but it wasn't a problem.
As stated previously, Wareham is a nice town with a river front area to sit and watch the ducks and swans. Plenty of places to eat too.
Around and about there are lots of of places to visit. We were in the area to visit Monkey World, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Sandbanks is worth a visit too, to see how the other half live, also Swanage and Lyme Regis are easily reached.
All in all, an excellent site in a great area. Never seen as many thatched cottages as there are round there.
Go on visit.

This is a lovely site in a lovely part of Dorset. As you would expect from C.C., very quite and very clean.
There is one toilet block which is ok, one is refurbished and excellent. They have finally done away with those awful white plastic stools and put in a proper little seat, great. Pitches seemed a bit close together but that may be me.
The site is mixed hard standing and grass pitches with hookups and with a good children's play area. Wardens were friendly and helpoful as ever.
There was a visiting chippie which we didn't try but seemed popular. Turn right out of the gate and last turning on right before the roundabout gets you to a Spar and papershop. Otherwise carry on into Wareham.
A lovely, lively town with good atmosphere and all you might need. Visit 'Nellie Crumb' for a good coffe and sarnie. Also lovely river walks.
A look at your atlas shows you close to several seaside towns and a couple of N.T. Places, Kingston Lacy is a good day out. Make a point of visiting Wimborne Minster. Do go to 'The Cloisters' restaurant. Excellent food and good value.
This was our second visit and won't be our last. You can even hear the sealions at night.

We have just returned from a week at this site and I felt I had to write a review as after reading the other reviews here before we went, but after we had booked on this site, I was a bit apprehensive about what we would find.
I must say we had a lovely week here. We pitched on one of the larger grass pitches and heard very little noise from the road. We could hear some machinery/engine noise at times from the quarry or landfill site, but it was off in the distance and was certainly not intrusive.
Only dogs barking we heard were ones on site and that was just the occasional bark.
The showers were clean, hot and powerful and we never had to queue, even though the site was surprisingly quite full. The dog walk on site is very good.
It was lovely to be able to sit outside in the sun in the late afternoon. Had a lovely week walking in the area.
Would definitely return again.

Just back from this site, have visited many times over the years and I must say we no longer find this site quiet and peaceful, there is early morning noise from quarry work at the back of the site, and most annoyingly there is a permanent gypsy site next door with dogs barking all through the night. Other than that usual high standards, and please if you use the dog walk please be a responsible dog owner and pick up.

Regarding access to the toilet/shower blocks that the reviewer mentioned, it's obvious that facilities need to be closed at certain times of the day to keep their pristine condition. All club sites quite plainly tell members of the opening/closing times on the handout that all members receive on arrival and the times are fixed to the door or wall of the block. You just have to read the info!Regarding dirty dog walks, irresponsible dog owners are to blame. I have a dog and have been visiting Hunters for years.

This is a smallish site with closely packed pitches. Toilets & facilities adequate and clean. Dog walk wass not clean and had plenty of poo to avoid treading on.
There is a great deal of dog noise from what sounds like a local kennel to the west side of the site.
I am new to CC sites and was quite astonished to be reprimanded for trying to enter the toilet block during cleaning time, there was no sign visible as I walked in!
Clean but not hospitable would be my summation.
