Been to this site before and the standard is what you would expect from a Caravan Club site.
There is now a complete fenced off field for dog exercise so that was a bonus.
You can walk into Wareham by using the forest walk through the gate at the back of the site and following the public footpath signs, but the easy way is to use the grass verge at the front of the site to the Silent Woman public house then cross the road then its all footpaths into Wareham forest as there is what is called the Greenway which is a sign path all the way into Wareham, probably not recommended with little ones though as the road is very busy.

Just returned from 3 nights at this site and what a nice site it is. Quiet and peaceful. The toilets and showers were up to the usual caravan club standard nice and clean. The showers were very powerful and had nice hot water.
The site had a large grass field for the kids to play footie in, a dog walk area that goes into the woods and a play area with swings etc for the kids. This all being on the grass pitching area.
The wardens were very friendly and helpful and they kept the site immaculate. This is a good base to explore Dorset, not far from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door well worth a visit.
There is a pub about half a mile from the site called The Silent Woman quite nice but they do not allow children under 14 into the pub.
We would definitely go back to Hunters Moon it's one of the nicest sites that we have visited. Highly recommended.

Just got back from a week at Hunters Moon, Dorset. The area was beautiful and so much to do and not enough hours in the day.
The site had some hard standing and some grass pitches. I was told that the grass piches will soon be hardstanding. Some of the hardstanding pitches are smaller than others so on some you will need to put your car in front of your van if you want the awning up.
The toilets and showers were usual cc stands and very clean. This site doesnt have a barrier entry or exit which I thought it would.
If you pitch at the back of the site beware because there are rather alot of noisy dogs.
Great dog walk and dog field. Great play field for the kids and a great play area. Why the caravan club dont put something for the little ones to play on beats me its a shame.

Just spent a week here, we were very lucky with the weather - no rain and glorious sunshine for walking. There is a gate into the forest from the campsite with code on your info sheet - direct into walks around the forest. Go out the gate and turn right 500 yards and you cross the main road and walk along the bridlepath through a campsite into Wareham forest or go out the gate, turn left, left and left again (using signposts) and you end up at the lovely Silent Woman Inn great food and badger beer! Lovely location, army can be a bit noisy but forest makes up for it. Very clean site and facilities - lots to see and do in the area. We have no young children but play area and field a huge bonus. Dogs on permanent site next door a little noisy whilst we were there and bottom end of site, the road noise may be a problem. Very friendly wardens and we will certainly be back to visit the area, forgotten how lovely Dorset is! 1/2 mile along road to Inn if you have no dogs! (it is a child free pub inside - children are allowed in the garden / loos and covered patio)

Great site, we arrived late due to traffic on a bank holiday saturday but the warden was fantastic. Showing us which pitches were available and suitable for our family. the play areas is a good size but the huge bonus for us having 2 football mad boys is the adjoining field which is not advertised in the brochure. facilities a s usual for caravan club sites were excellent, clean and plenty of hot water and not too busy. it is possible to walk down to wareham but only a 5 minute car ride. Wareham forest is only a short walk from siteswith great walks or cycle tracks. nearby attractions are monkey world (our favourite place, not only great conservation and rescue but great play area for kids too), tank museum, studland beach, brownsea island, lulworth castle. Dorset scenery and beaches are wonderful and a much shorter journey than travelling to cornwall or devon. Beaches are safe too. can't wait to go back next year, we've been 3 times now and find something new to do each time, even if weather is poor.
