We've just spent a very pleasant bank holiday weekend here. We were surprised to find a good choice of pitches even arriving latish on Friday evening.

Check in is straight forward and the hardstanding pitches near reception are easily large enough for a car, caravan and awning. (Some of the older ones look a bit narrower though.) The main road can be noisy at times but was never really a problem to us.

The site is obviously well looked after by the club wardens. The loos and showers are a bit dated but always impeccably clean and surprisingly, given how full the site was, we never had to queue.

The shop sells basics but there's a Sainsburys 5 minutes down the road in Wareham. The site has a children's' play area and an enclosed dog walk, but the grass was quite long hence wet dog paws in the morning! You can also go to the other end of the site and walk straight into Wareham forest (but, be warned, if you turn left and walk towards Wareham itself, you have to go past a huge landfill site which even on a relatively cool day did pong a bit!)

We didn't try the pub down the road - The Quiet Woman - I should think it gets very busy given there are 3 large caravan sites nearby. Wareham is a very pleasant town and you can walk round the remains of the walls easily if you have a spare half hour. There are also lots of longer distance walks based on the town itself.

We enjoyed the weekend and would certainly return here if we are in the area again.

Once again this was well up to C.C. Standards. We had eight nights here. Beautiful weather but icy cold throughout. It appeared to be less than half full on arrival so we had a wide choice of pitches. Lots of hardstanding and some grass. It did fill slightly as the weekend approached. As seems usual out of season there was only one of the two toilet blocks operational but this didn't cause a problem. It was well kept and clean but wasn't too warm although the showers were amazing.

From what we saw the pitches were well made and minimal levelling needed. There is a dog walk here. No shop within walking distance but t/r out of the gate and last right before the roundabaout finds a Spar, Newsagent and strange 'sell everything' shop. Pub called 'The Silent Woman' not too far but we didn't try it.

Wareham is a nice town for a visit. Try 'Nellie Crumb' tea shop. Wimbourne Minster is also a lovely town. Go on Saturday to the market, but follow the signs as this is just outside the town. It's worth a trip into town to see the Minster and then eat in 'The Cloisters'. You also have Corfe Castle which is good and Lulworth Cove if you like a cliff walk. Several National Trust sites nearby including Kingston Lacey and Clouds Hill.

All in all a lovely site in a lovely area. We shall definitely be going again. You can even hear the sea lions at night.

We just had a 2 night break at Hunters Moon. It's a lovely site, very friendly. The showers are very clean and lovely and warm for this time of year, very powerful too which makes a nice change for sites.

The field for dog walking is ideal.

I would imagine the site gets very busy in season as there appears to be a lot of pitches. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it.

We've just come back from a 4 night stay & had a great time! Shower blocks clean & tidy, & a good enclosed area for exercising the 4 legged members of the family. The site is ideally situated to explore the surrounding area.

We bought a copy of the 6 mile circular walk from the site, into Wareham from the booking in office for 20p-an excellent investment, as we took the whole day to meander our way into Wareham via the gate at the back of the site. The walk takes you through Wareham forest, through farmland & over the river into the town, then coming back, through some footpaths, over the golf course & back through the forestry.

We had a lovely meal at The Silent Woman pub just down the road (about a 10-15 mins walk on the busy main rd or app 40 mins via the back gate through the forestry) It was pricy, but the food was excellent. It's ideal for a special night out. There are 2 signs outside the pub that plainly state that it is an adults only pub & that children under 14 are not allowed inside (but can sit in the undercover patio area)This is a great idea, and pretty unusual nowadays. This was a real draw for us-as was the Badger ale!

There are two parts to this site, the first is the rather cramped hardstanding area, which has more gravel than grass and the second is the lower grass area where we pitched and whilst slightly more relaxed in feel, didn't exude charm or character either and we still didn't feel too spacious.

There is nothing wrong with the site, but there is nothing outstanding either. The dog area is just adequate, although a vast area is given over to an uncut children's field, which appeared to be completely unused at the time. Another path at the back of the site had an adder slither across near the dog, so we didn't use it again.Just in case!

There are not enough showers or toilets for the amount of pitches, this leads to very busy facilities from 7.30am (the earliest I managed) onwards.

The grass pitch area has no water or waste facilities so you will need to lug them a fair distance up and down a slope to one of the wash blocks, so if you struggle on the flat don't pitch on the grass area.

In its favour it is a good location to explore the surrounding area of Poole, including the rather interesting Corfe Castle. The cycle and walking routes are a big draw also, but next time I will look for another site and there are two other choices on the same road.

Stayed here for just over a week on our first trip to Dorset.

Very busy site and when told to go look around with your van in tow we got stuck on the grass area as it was full and there is no room to turn round.

But did find a hard standing pitch that was left under the trees. This was not a great problem to us as we had a lot of hot sunny days but if the weather had been rainy it would have felt gloomy and dark.

No views at all around the site you look at each others van.

The site itself is just as expected from the caravan club good showers and clean loos.

Wardens friendly on arrival only time we saw them ,posted the number given in box to leave so didn't see any one .

Dont think we will go here again not what we look for felt to closed in.

We have just returned home after staying at this site. As we always use Caravan Club sites we decided to stay here for our main summer holiday. The toilet facilities where as what you would expect and where clean & tidy. However, there is no information anywhere stating that there is a permanent 'TRAVELLERS SITE' in the field at the side of you. If we had known this we would never have stayed there and would never go back again. We did only have 1 really noisy late night from them but the fact that they where there put that element of insecurity in your head and therefore you was cautious when you left your van which is something you would not normally think of. My husband spoke to the Wardens the morning after to be told that they did not want to cause any conflict with them!. The pitches are close together and the grass around our pitch was not cut in the 2 weeks we were there. On the whole, we had a fantastic holiday but the site is not the best and not what you would expect from the Caravan Club. Wareham is an ideal base to see Dorset and there is plenty of places to visit.

As usual, caravan club standards, site was well kept and showers and toilets were clean and in use with plenty of hot water when we used them. Reception were extremely friendly even when we arrived nearly 2 hours earlier than the 12 noon.

The pitches were quite close together, we got one of the grass pitches near the kids play area. If you pick the side opposite to you when you drive down the hill into the grass pitch area, you will get the afternoon sun on your awning side. Beware some of these pitches are very shallow and your van will be right up to the edge of the road. Quite a small site to some that we have stayed at. Good climbing frame in the play area and a big field behind it to kick a ball about.

Lovely area with lots to do - Monkey world (didn't get to see many monkeys, but brilliant play area for kids), Bovington Tank museum, very interesting even with a 7 and 1 year old in tow. As it was half term there were tank displays outside to watch.

Got the steam train from Norden (£2 all day to park) to Swanage (rtn cost £26 for family of 4). Lovely sandy beach only a short walk from the station. Dorchester and Weymouth (another nice sandy beach) not too far away and worth a visit. Also had to seek out the famous £mil properties at 'Sandbanks'. From Swanage we drove to the chain ferry at Studland / Shell bay. £3 gets you across straight into the rich peoples land for a nose.

Fish and chips from the shop in Wareham was the smallest and most expensive we had ever had. There were also chinese / indian / kebabs but we didn't try them. We found the Co-op in Wareham at the end of our stay. We mainly used a big Asda and Tesco extra 6 miles away in Poole which are the nearest big stores. Luckily the weather was just right for BBQ's.

Just down the road turning right from the site was a Forestry Commission car park and the Sika trail for walkers / cycling. Lovely walks through the forest, but just mind the dog poo.

A site and area we would be happy to return to as there are still lots of other things we didn't manage to do - Farmer Palmers and the ferry from Poole for a day trip to Jersey

This is great site very tidy with friendly staff. There are two shower blocks with only three showers in each, not enough for the a site with 120 pitches so you have to time it right or you will have wait ages.

The site is close to Corfe Castle, Swanage and Studland. Lots to see and do in the area. Would go there again.

This is a nice clean tidy site, up to the usual Caravan Club standards. The pitches are a good size, but some are quite shady and you do need to get there early on a Friday if you want a pitch that will be in sunshine all day.

There are two shower blocks which are very clean, but smell a little damp. Whilst we were there the boiler room was emitting a high pitched whine. I don’t know if this is a regular occurrence or a short term fault, but it became very annoying.

There is no club on site but here is a great pub about a mile down the road called the Silent Woman, but it’s not really within walking distance as the web site suggests. Interestingly there is a big sign in the entrance welcoming dogs, but restricting children under 14 to the garden (perfect!).

Probably the best thing about this site is its location. It is a few miles from Wareham and within 15 minutes of Corfe Castle, Poole, Kimmeridge Bay, Lulworth Cove and Swanage.

All-in-all a nice stay and we would definitely go back
