A small well maintained site, good facilities and very pleasant views.
A 20 minute walk into Leyburn over a footpath - but remember to take a torch for the way back!
Would stay again.

The facilities were clean and modern the owners were very friendly,
There were pitches on the field and two separate, one was in a shaded area under some trees which kept the van cool in the very hot weather.
It was close to Leyburn which took 20 to 25 minutes to walk. There was a bus stop on the way for buses to Richmond. There was a bus stop in town where a mini bus (can use bus pass) to Hawes ( market day on Tuesday) it also goes to Bolton castle but you have to notify the bus company.

Very well maintained site in a lovely location, surrounded by farmland.
Quiet even though it was quite busy when we were there - but we could hear guns/artillery from the nearby military ranges in the morning so perhaps not the place if you want a very peaceful getaway!
Due to Covid restrictions, they've made the toilets unisex and limited to one household per space - which means there are, in practicality, just two toilets for the whole site, or one toilet if someone is having a shower. This isn't really enough - we often had to queue. The facilities were spotless and modern - just not enough at the moment.
Good potwash facilities.
Good location for pottering in that corner of the Dales.

Have been waiting to stay at Cow Close for ages and it was worth the wait. Fab site. Clean toilets and showers.
Great location, short walk into Leyburn and base for lovely walks.
Dog friendly. Amazing meal at the Black Swan.
There was no play area for children but it was a good size field and the ones that were there seemed very happy playing outside their caravan.
It was quiet on a night so no disturbed sleep. The local Chinese and pizza shop delivered to the site.
Owners were very helpful and nothing was a problem. Well done Suzanne, Amanda and Mark.
Can’t wait to stay again.

Great location and Amanda made us feel welcome and she was really helpful in talking through local walks and lending us a Landranger map for our stay.
We had a good pitch overlooking some lovely countryside and Leyburn was just a short or a slightly longer walk to shops and good pubs and cafes. There are one or two interesting walks from the site and its not far in a car to places like Hardraw Force and Askrigg waterfalls.
The site was pretty full during our three night stay and although the toilet blocks are good they are a little on the small side for the size of site. There are no child facilities that on this occasion was fine as for us as we had escaped the kids for this short break.
On balance a good site, helpful and lovely owners ( Amanda ) and well placed for walkers and country lovers.
Oh and the meal in the Black Swan exceeded expectations.

Can't fault this site, brilliant location, perfect hosts,
Facilities when open are spotlessly clean,
Would recommend to anyone,
If you can keep your children entertained yourselves then it's good for families although there isn't a playground

“Perfection”
One word to capture my experience.
My arrival at the campsite could not have been more pleasant, Mark gave up his time as he was attending to other tasks and offered the most idealistic pitch, offering us an EHU point which I had not asked for but had become available. NOW! Not having a hook-up cable I thought that was that but Amanda popped over to greet us and offered a cable for our stay. Later that evening Samantha came for a welcome chat and cemented the friendship between both parties.
The site is so quiet and with the volume of fellow campers our stay was so relaxing.
Covid via the government have tried to curb travel, closing of facilities etc but with excellent campsite management they made our stay safe and offered guidance to maximise the use of the campsite facilities at this time.
So humbled by their support, site location and quiet break we have booked for the following weekend.
Sorry no negative’s. Only a well earned Positive.
Oh! My 0 score for children friendliness was only due to witnessing children playing with their parents etc and none were observed to be upset, board or being disruptive but I wasn’t there to focus on the youngsters as my son is 32. And not my place to rate a score at this time.
