We spent two nights here on our way south and had a friendly welcome. There were only a few pitches available and ours was a grasscrete hardstanding with a fair bit of mud around, though the full gravel pitches looked fine.
It was very busy over the weekend with lots of families, whose kids were cycling all over the place. As cyclists ourselves we were glad to see them getting the exercise, though our hearts were in our mouths as they hurtled round the one way system the wrong way and came into the walled area without looking, continuing to do so even when dark.
The shower block was excellent with lots of hot water, but there was a considerable wait for the dishwashing sinks.
We were given a walking map and chose the short walk, which somehow took us over two hours, though we did manage to detour to the excellent Smiddy's farmshop down the road.
We also cycled over to Callander; once off the busy main roads, the B-roads were lovely, though Callander itself was choked with heavy traffic.
The fish and chip van was late arriving on the Friday and despite ordering early, ours weren't delivered until well past 8 o'clock and the fish was what I can only describe a anorexic.
Despite all of the above, we enjoyed our two nights!

We have just spent a pleasant 2 nights here. It is a peaceful and level site within a walled garden, with some other woodland pitches outside the walls.
Toilet block clean and tidy. Small shop in the reception office. Children’s playground looked good.
Fish and chip van visited on both the Friday and Saturday evening. Easy off road walk to Doune, which is a pretty town with 2 cafes, some pubs and various small shops.

Good place to stop when travelling further north as only a few miles off the A9. Welcoming staff, choice of pitches though it was quite busy when we arrived so not many left to choose from.
Decently spaced out and level. Washroom facilities clean and warm. Plenty of options for walking the dog. Well away from the road so no road noise and sheltered if you are in walled garden area.

We enjoyed our 1st break of the 2016 season here, first visit ever, Staff were welcoming, and were given a pitch within the Walled Garden area of the site (lovely )there are also pitches in the woods on the perimeter of the site, which families with young children might prefer, noticed the children having great fun in the woods, building their own little dens etc.
Overall the site is clean, with decent toilet facilities and a small shop for basics. Most pitches are spacious enough, but need upgrading, as the grass grows between the block spacing, creating a muddy ground area in wet weather which is trailed into the awning or caravan, apart from that, it is a lovely site and there are some nice walks around the grounds and it makes a good base for visiting Stirling or Doune and Callander. TV signal was good and Wifi is available at small cost.
Overall we enjoyed our break here and would certainly return. It would be better in warm weather to get the best from it, but hey, this is Scotland!. So you take your chance.

We had a very nice visit to this site which is perfectly placed for visiting central Scotland.
We were using an electric hook up in our tent for the first time, and were given a choice of the two electric tent pitches available.
These were in a nice spot with high hedges for good shelter and a next to a large area where our toddler could run around and play.
We were so sheltered that everyone we met commented on the windy night but we never felt a breeze.
Mention too for the good drainage as one evening we had torrential rain but any puddles disappeared within an hour or so.
The site mainly caters for caravans with only the two electric tent pitches and a small area behind the toilet block, between the high walls of the caravan area and the access road, for non electric tent pitches, which could feel isolated from the rest of the campsite and which would struggle to accommodate larger tent units.
Toilets block was clean and spacious and there was a separate family room with toilet and baby change area where you could strap your child into the seat to give him a shower, which was far easier than the norm of trying to get a little one to use a normal shower whilst washing yourself and fighting with clothes and buggies.
Playpark was good and there is plenty of walks around the estate, but they can be muddy and unsuitable for a buggy.
Special mention must go to the option to buy your Safari Park tickets from the reception which last your whole stay. There is so much to do you cant fit it in one visit.
The reception area has a small shop with all the essentials and sells coffee to takeaway and ice creams.
There is a small information centre behind the reception building which has plenty of booklets for the surrounding area, maps and restaurant menus.
Minor quibbles that the barriers were broken and no restriction of access to the site and also that there was no warden on site after 7pm with no phone number on the reception door.
All in all a great stay and will come back if we revisit the area.

This is a lovely wee site, quiet and family friendly. It's mostly a caravan site (within a walled garden) but there is a strip of grass down one side just outside the walls which is for tents, plus an extra area out the back of the walled area. The whole area is well sheltered. We had a very friendly welcome and were offered a choice of pitches. We chose one right next to the play park - not the quietest option, as you'd expect, but it suited us.
Toilets have been done up recently and were immaculate even though the site was almost full. (Maybe because such a high proportion of users are caravanners who use their own loos). Free showers with plenty of space in each cubicle, and privacy cubicles (sink with a curtained area) as well. One family bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. The signs say they are all closed for 2 hours in the morning for cleaning (10-12noon) but I don't know if they are closed for the full period or just while they are actually being cleaned. I do wish sites would stagger their cleaning but almost none of them do!
The play area includes a flying fox which our 3-year-old managed if someone helped him to get onto it, but was well used by all ages up to adult. There are also 3 swings, a biggish slide (built into the banking), a small play house and some obstacle course equipment - scramble net, monkey bars etc.
If you buy a safari park ticket from the campsite then you can use that one ticket to go in and out of the safari park for the length of your stay - brilliant value for longer trips.
There are multiple water and waste points (drinking water, waste water disposal, recycling and general waste bins) so nobody has to walk far for them.
Loved it, we will definitely be back.

Just returned from a 5 day holiday.
Good sized pitches and well laid out. We were in the walled area and loved the fact that we were not looking into the next caravan's windows. The toilets and showers were Ok but despite being clean were dated and not as good as some other sites. We also used the washer and dryer facility. It is not the cheapest but works very well and saves taking loads of dirty cloths home.
The grandchildren loved the play facilities and spent a lot of time there. We felt they were safe there and we had to drag them away when we left.
The best bit was the Safari Park. Buy the tickets from the reception at the caravan park. , £52 for 2 adults and 2 children. This gives you unlimited access throughout your stay. We liked this site and will return.

We decided to stay at this site because of the great reviews it had had previously and because of the location. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The site does have a great location and is great for exploring Stirling and the lovely surrounding area. The site itself is well laid out with pitches inside and outside a walled area.
The toilets were modern and clean but unfortunately the showers were not great. They were powerful enough but in a very small cubicle with a curtain it meant everything got wet. As there was only 4 showers for a reasonably large site they were overused and not particularly clean. During cleaning times there also didn't seem to be any alternative toilets to use which with a young family was not great.
As a responsible dog owner we were disappointed that there were no designated dog bins so we just had to use the normal refuse bins which is not nice for non dog owners. There was a strict dog on lead rule which we always follow but unfortunately this didn't seem to apply to the wardens!
This is a nice site if you have your own fantastic facilities, are not a dog owner and are looking for a quiet weekend.

We booked the only 2 tent spaces with ehu for this site for a weekend (the other tent spaces are not EHU) and had an absolutely fantastic weekend here. Our 2yr old grandchild had her birthday in the safari park and birthday barbq at the tents. Her Aunt and Uncle came for the barbq and the warden was very helpful and offered to lift the barrier for them when they were going but they decided just to leave the car in the car park outside. Although the tent spaces are outside the walled area they are in a nice cosy corner with maybe 4 other spaces and a small grassed area for our toddler to play (there is a play area but she was so busy)
It was really clean and lovely and quiet apart from an animal noise in the middle of the night for a few minutes which sparked great conversation the next morning over what it had been :) We had a lovely time here and once we finalise dates will reserve for next year as well.

Stayed here Sept 2014 for a 2 night stay as close to home.
It's a pretty site and very well kept, especially the grass. The wall around is attractive although daunting to go through as a relatively new caravanner. The toilets were clean and very modern with touch control free hot water showers and Dyson hand dryers. The shop is stocked with essentials and ice cream. Just a note. The shop/reception shuts at 7pm and not 8pm as stated on their website. We only just made our pitch with 10 minutes to spare. There was no mention of the earlier closure on our booking receipt.
We stayed through the wall next to the woods and the playpark, which was quiet but meant we were covered in leaves and had a couple of birds get into the awning (all part of the caravanning experience). Plus we were next to the path into the wooded area so found 6-8pm quite busy with dog walkers next to the van. In this area the ground is quite uneven, even the hard standings, so make sure you have some levelling blocks with you.
The play park and woods were very good for our older children but you have to keep a watchful eye on wee ones due to the zip slide. Between that and the trees to climb the kids had an excellent time.
