We visited Yapham during February half term in our 1971 VW campervan 'Saffy'. The ground was a little wet due to the recent snowfall and thaw so the owners arranged for us to park on a hard standing which was ideal.
The toilet / shower facilities were nice and clean and warm with the radio playing all the time which was a nice touch. Plenty of hot water- a toilet and shower each for female and male guests in one block.
There were several hens roaming free which we really liked and we got an ID sheet so we could work out the names of each hen by their coloured bands on their legs which was a nice touch and a fun activity for our daughter.
The owners were ever so friendly and trusting too! We had not realised it was cash only for payment but the owners were happy for us to camp the night and leave the following morning with the promise we would return after a visit to the cash machine. £17.50 for one night with electric hook up - very reasonable.
Really quiet peaceful site. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

We were met by the owner on arrival and given a brief tour of the facilities and then told to pick our spot as due to the poor weather conditions we were the first ones there. After choosing the driest area we could, the owner kindly loaned us an extension for our hook up.
The pitches were level and were not waterlogged which was a surprise after all the rain we've just had.
The toilets and showers were spotless and we never had to queue although this might be a problem if the site was full, washing area and bin areas were well placed and kept very tidy.
My daughter loved the free roaming chickens and was forever following them round the field.
Pocklington is a nice town with supermarkets and various shops, takeaways and a nice old sweet shop.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay we were made very welcome, we will be back !

We've just spent 3 nights at Yapham Holds Farmhouse. The owners were welcoming and informative, always happy to stop and chat but not obtrusive at all. We booked the night before our arrival but could probably have just turned up, as there were few other campers at that time.
The toilet / shower block was always spotless. There were nice touches, such as handwash and hand and body cream for the ladies. There also was a light on the camping field and a light on the toilet area, which was great should you need to use the facilities.
This was so much better than scrambling around in the dark for a torch! There were washing up facilities, with drinking water available aplenty.
Pocklington was just a couple of miles away, giving access to a range of shops and facilities. York was just 20 minutes drive away. At the site there were plenty of leaflets and also owner advice on where to go on days out.
Farmhouse hens were freerange and the children loved to identify the individual birds and to feed them with the free feed provided by the owners. We also encountered hedgehogs and rabbits at night, with toads and goats visible too.
All in all a lovely campsite with fantastic hosts who were only too happy to help when needed. We are already thinking about our next visit, and the children all are keen to return too.

We visited the site in early august, we were met by steve the site owner, pleasant and friendly,
I had not taken the right connection for the hook up lead, but steve came to the rescue with the loan of a lead,
The site is level and well kept, all units are on the edge of the field, with the middle were the kids can play, away from the units.
This site is in the countryside, so you get all the sounds, ( even the hens come to visit, steve supplies a list with their names ) don't be tempted to feed them, as we were, because they leave the calling cards all around,
The toilet block is clean, with separate ladies /gents showers and toilets, even piped music,
Steve & janet sell fresh eggs & you can even purchase disposable bbq, they even loaned plastic chairs to those campers arriving on bikes, (nice touch I think )
The dish wash area has even got washing up liquid, another little thoughtful touch,
The site is just 2 miles from pocklinton, good walking are and handy for trips to bridlington /york.
A good site and we would return again.

We had 2 nights at this wonderful site. We arrived just after 12 on Friday.
Janet was very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much effort. The amenities are spotless and we did not queue at any stage.
The hens are inquisitive and friendly, even if they did pinch my lad's flapjack, when he was unawares.
By and large everyone was in their tents and quiet by 11pm, which is great as we have 2 young children.
A lovely quiet site, we will return.

Arrived early Friday afternoon and welcomed by Steve, we were given a pitch in the field next to the pod - absolutely no complaints - this is a superb site with lots of great touches to make campers feel at home, the toilets and showers are immaculate, and the whole site is pristine, this is the way all CS or CL sites should be.
The owners are very friendly and accommodating and make every visitor fell welcome and obviously take great pride in the site.
As others have mentioned the free range hens are a particular attraction all have colour coded bands on their legs, and on arrival you are given a list of all their names - this is a great touch.
We plan on going back soon and this time will take our 4 year old grandson with us to introduce him to the hens
All in all a great weekend

With a bad weather weekend forecast, we decided to wimp out and book the Gothic Pod (or Love Shack as we named it) for the weekend. We could not have been more delighted - it was absolutely fab.
We enjoyed every minute of our stay - the site was so peaceful. Because of the atmosphere the owners want here, you are not going to get the sort of camping neighbours that spoil your weekend.
The showers and toilets were spotless. I cannot recommend this site highly enough to anyone wanting a quiet country break.
The Pod is the icing on the cake - and in spite of the dire forecast, not a drop of rain fell - so ignore that weather man!

We arrived on the site and we were met by steve, he was pleasant and gave us our tour of the site,
We liked the idea of the pod rather than using our tent, the toilets and showers were spotless and well maintained. The chickens were free to roam which was fun to watch.
The site itself was really good and well kept we went into the pod which was spotless. You have a couch which folds to make a bed. A tv 2 tables.
We feel that the pod itself could do with some small touches as in a lamp to make it a bit cosier as the lighting was a bit bright also a small fridge in the corner to hold things like butter and milk.
The bed itself for more than one or two nights is not very comfortable I would recommend a futon which would more comfortable as a personal view.
A small mirror and a long handled brush for sweeping out the pod would also be a good touch.

We arrived on Friday night, it was raining and very windy, typical British June weather! Thankfully we had booked to stay in the new Log Pod, instead of our tent, so all we needed to do was unpack the car and open the wine. Steve talked us through everything, the sofa bed, the heating and the tv/dvd player, all of which are very straight forward.
The Pod is immaculate and is situated in the second field. You can sit on the porch and watch the other campers and the hen's. Even though the weather was awful I managed to cook a meal on our stove in the porchway without getting wet or the stove blowing out. During the night the wind was howling & the rain was torrential but once inside the Log Pod none of this could be heard or felt, it was warm and cosy.
The toilet/shower block is immaculate, with lots of local information.
There is a covered pot wash area with hot water and washing up liquid. The site also has a whirlygig & pegs for drying rain soaked clothes.
The nearby town of Pocklington is lovely, and even has free parking, it has an array shops, including an old fashioned sweet shop and a wonderful coffee house (the coffee bean)
On the second night we managed to bbq on the porch, again despite the adverse weather. The Pod has been very well situated.
Finally on the morning we were leaving the sun came out and we were able to sit out and have our breakfast on the picnic table provided, again perfectly situated to make the most of the sun.
This campsite is perfect, nice and quiet, very friendly owners who are on hand for any of your needs, stress free camping. We would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone, its heaven and we both came home very relaxed and looking forward to staying there again.

Just back from a lovely week at Yapham Holds Farmhouse. The site is split in two by small fence, the rear field is used for caravans and has new log pod, which looks very nice.
The front field is mainly used for tents with 4 electric hook-ups. The field stood up well too some very heavy rain, this drained away very quickly apart from one small area by the road which no-one pitches there. The toilets are 1 of each male and female, even with 10 units on site there was no queueing.
The site is about 2 miles away from the nearest town of Pocklington. Which has a number of shops, pubs, eateries, banks etc. ? The shops include Sainsbury’s and aldi’s.
There’s a small market every Tuesday which includes the usually household stalls, great book stall and homemade cake stall with some great cakes.
Also nearby is wonderful city of York. With its great museums, including the National railway museum, which is free to enter. Other local places to visit are Driffield, Beverley and Hull.
Plus a little further away is Yorkshire coast including Scarborough and Bridlington.
