We were looking for a quiet site with the minimum of facilities, i. E. Toilets and electric hookup. We were certainly not disappointed. The site was perfect, the owners very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, at first there was only another motor caravan and then another tent arrived, so it was lovely, just what we wanted.
Our dogs were not too keen on the chickens at first, but they did get use to them after a while, although there wasn't a dog walk on site, the country road just outside the site was quiet enough for a walk, there was also a footpath over the farmers fields, although it didn't look very well used and there was a stile half way along that the dogs could not get over, but it was okay for a stroll.
We had some lovely fresh eggs and the weekend was just about perfect, we will certainly be visiting again.

Just spent three great nights at this small but very peaceful site, toilets and showers were kept very clean by the very hard working steve who greeted us as we arrive.
We were shown to our pitch and were greeted by the very friendly chickens as we pitched our tents, steve the owner was very chatty and friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble.
The site is off the beaten track so is very quiet at night apart from the odd bird chirping or a horse galloping in the next field. Although there is only 1 toilet and 1 shower for women and the same for men, we didn't have to queue even though the site was full!
If your looking for a lazy weekend or a very relaxing break this is the site for you,we will definitely be returning to this site in the not so distant future.

Went to this site for a week in November, there was a party of 3 caravans. The site was easy to find and isn't a million miles from York however it would have been better if it were closer.
The field is level and is well drained. On arrival the site owners are there to help and are very friendly. You get a nice little leaflet about the site and surrounding areas when you get on site which is a nice touch.
The site has electric hookups but not sure on the amperage, I had an awning up and had trouble with it tripping out but this could have possibly been due to the fan heater overloading it.
There is also a covered dishwashing and veg area on site and toilets and showers. The toilets and showers were not finished when we were on site but from the work done so far it looks like they will be done to a high standard.
The free range hens on site are friendly but if you feed them at your van be warned as they won't bother about coming in for a look round.

We visited this site for 3 nights at Bank Holiday weekend - what a windy weekend that was! Though thankfully, the tent stayed put, we stayed dry and we had a great time.
The site is small, and very quiet with the lovely hens frequently coming to say hello - each one is identified with a different coloured tag for the kids to identify against their chart.
Loved the site, because its not huge it wasn't overcrowded and noisy, and the few kids that were there were more than happy to play together in the centre of the field, away from the tents. I believe the site has 4 electric hook-ups for tents, with a few more pitches for none-electric, along with the caravan standings.
The owners were lovely & welcoming, and very accommodating - our fridge broke upon arrival & they were very generous in regularly swapping our freezer packs for us as we had medicines to keep cold. We were also told where we could find them if we needed them at any point - ' just knock on the red door!'
There is an outdoor wash-up area covered with a black gazebo that keeps you dry in the rain, though we found it really could do with a hot water supply to it and not just cold. Easy enough to boil some water to take across for the greasy pots, but perhaps not as safe.
The toilets & showers are brand new & immaculate with the local radio playing in the background which was very pleasant. Bit disconcerting at first to see the mens & ladies are separated by a curtain but it actually posed no problems and didn't faze any of us once we had got used to it.
The owners, are recently new to this site and have done all the renovations themselves, living in a caravan whilst they did it! They have many plans to increase the toilet & showering facilities along with many other changes and seem to be making a great job of it.
Can't wait to see what changes have been done by the next time we visit - a truly lovely site. Thanks for having us!

What a fantastic site. We thought this was a wonderful site with very helpful friendly owners. We really can't praise it enough.
Lovely level fields, very quiet farm with very quiet road outside. The facilities are spotless but still need finishing. When they are finished this site can only go from strength to strength.
Please go to this site( but don't spread the word too much.)
Just be aware, the chickens are super friendly!

As we were a group of 6 men down from Scotland working in the area we were finding it hard to find a campsite to stay as most are not keen on single sex working parties, but this was not the case at Yapham Holds Farmhouse.
The owner Steve could not have been more helpful. He was more than happy to allow us 3 tent pitches for our group. We stayed at the campsite on and off for 3 weeks and we found the site ideal for our needs.
The campsite is a small, quiet and peaceful site which in my opinion would be ideal for first time campers or those looking for a little quiet, but with the added bonus of towns and shops only a short drive away, one being the town of Pocklington which has supermarkets, pubs and your usual takeaways which came in handy for a party of six hungry men.
The site itself boasts a brand new toilet/shower block with constant hot water. There is also electric hook-up available.
Steve has big plans for extending and improving the site and we wish him all the best and good luck in fulfilling these.
OH! And one last thing don't feed the free range chickens near your tent. You have been warned! (haha)

After buying our first caravan a week before Easter Weekend we were very keen, and, very late to book somewhere in Yorkshire for Easter. The site owner at Yapham Holds kindly rang us back out of the sites we initially left messages with.
Steve, the site owner was very friendly and helpful over the phone. Being new to towing, he also offered us help over the phone and waited for us at the entrance to help us in!
The surrounding farmland leading to the site has plenty to see: donkeys, pigs, cows etc. Our car couldn't cope with a van and slightly soggy field and Steve wasted no time in asking the farmer next door to take us onto the field with his tractor. We have since acquired a 4x4 as we want to use more field based sites than hardstandings. As you enter you are greeted by free range chickens.
The site consists at the moment of a field with about 5 hook ups (16 amp), a pot wash area, waste disposal, fresh water and chem disposal. There were no showers when we were there but we were informed of this at point of booking. The showers were still being built. This was fine for us as we were looking forward to testing out our new van!
The toilets were brand new and immaculate. The owners had placed a vase of fresh flowers in the ladies and being the only campers on the site this touch was very much appreciated! The pot wash area is uncovered but clean. There is one sink only at the moment for this purpose.
The field itself was perfect for our children (aged 5 and 7) and with only one road leading in and out it was safe for us to let them run around freely. The weather was rainy for majority of the three days over Easter weekend but we had a great time. The field did become soft underfoot but there had been very heavy rain for a week leading up to our visit.
Pocklington is a short straight drive from Yapham and is full of interesting shops, cafes and pubs. We will loved the town and will be visiting Pocklington again. There are Indian and chinese takeaways and a Somerfield supermarket. In the main square there's a specialist wine shop, a gallery, and a great little toy shop for the rainy days! There is also a very nice specialist deli which is well worth a visit.
In conclusion, this site is still being developed but would suit anyone enjoying basic clean campsites with no frills. The owners of the campsite were accommodating, polite and helpful. Our children were made to feel welcome.
We are ex-tent owners and think that the site would be great for tents, as the field is level. If you are looking for a small site, that is peaceful and pretty but within a few miles of a small picturesque town with plenty of amenities then Yapham Holds Farm is well worth a visit. We will book a second visit the next time we want to go to this part of the country.

Very pleasant owners at this new site. Site is peaceful with good pitches, good tv signal.
Although work is still being done to improve the showers, toilet block and facilities, etc, this is nearly done, having been delayed due to the bad weather conditions we had this winter. Once this is completed, it will be a top site, well worth a visit.
I was the first to visit and shall certainly return if working in the area again.

Fantastic little site close to the lovely village of Pocklington which has everything you may need; Pubs, Supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, restaurants and shops. We used Frank's takeaway on our first night which delivered to the campsite (it was a little too cold to BBQ!) The site is ideally situated within easy driving distance of York and just a little further to the East coast.
Steve & Janet were very welcoming and friendly even giving the kids some food to feed the family of chickens that roam the campsite (they produce fantastic eggs which you can buy from the farmhouse!)
A lovely little campsite in the countryside with nice touches like music in the toilet/shower block, nice hand soap & lotion, free hot showers which were always spotlessly clean, they also provide lots of information about the local area places to eat, days out etc & print off a local weather forecast. Also a nice washing up area under the cover of a gazebo.
Highly recommended
